Escape to nature at our fully off-grid cabin nestled on a private wooded 2-acres. While wonderfully remote, you’re just a short drive to Bancroft and all amenities.
Enjoy swimming from our sandy shore along the York River or unwind with cozy bonfires by the water’s edge. Spend your days relaxing on the deck or under the covered pergola, taking in the peaceful forest setting—rain or shine.
This is a place to truly unplug/recharge and explore. Your stay promises a little bit of magic.

Escape to a quiet, remote retreat surrounded by nature. Our cozy yet functional off-grid cabin offers all the basic amenities you need for a comfortable stay.
Enjoy exploring our 2 km private laneway, wooded property, and scenic views of the York River.
While the cabin is not directly on the water due to fluctuating river levels, a forest path leads you to the shoreline. Please note that water access may require navigating a slope, and a ladder is provided when levels permit—conditions can vary, especially in summer.
Inside, you’ll find a full kitchen with a range and fridge/freezer, plus a complete bathroom with a tub/shower, toilet, and on-demand hot water. The open sleeping loft features tall ceilings, and we provide bedding, soap, and toilet paper (guests must bring their own bath towels). A smart TV is available for streaming.
As a fully off-grid property, power depends on solar conditions and may be limited during cloudy weather or shorter daylight seasons. A backup generator is available if needed. We encourage guests to embrace the opportunity to unplug, but off-grid living isn’t for everyone—please keep this in mind when booking.
Water is supplied via a rainwater holding tank, so we ask guests to use it thoughtfully.
Please note: The cabin is located 2 km down a private, unpaved laneway. While accessible by car, an SUV or truck is recommended, especially in wet conditions. We also suggest arriving before dark on your first night.

We spent 3 days after are wedding and it was perfect, surrounded by the forest nothing else. Communication with host was excellent, cabin was even better in person, we were a little worried about the solar system in the beginning, if we would run into any issues (we have never used one before) but the host put in a lot of effort on labeling and printing out documents to explain how to use. We definitely recommend this place

Pet area and room to run was perfect and by the river is absolute heaven. Sunshine all day.. Loved every minute and will be back asap!!!

The cabin was great! Our dog was so worn out from all the walks and hikes. She slept most of the 6 hour drive home.

We spent an absolutely amazing week here. The cabin is lovely, very clean, with lots of natural light. Property is in the woods, with perfectly sized cleared area to enjoy the sun. We loved every part, gazebo, deck, fire pit. Each one has its own charm. It is a very short walk to the York river - a perfect spot with a fire pit and muskoka chairs, our favorite place to chill out by the river. Hailee is an amazing host. Easy to communicate, very responsive, providing clear information. We are looking forward to coming back
