Designed with comfort, light, and natural flow, this retreat invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and feel at home. With over 900 feet of York River frontage, cozy indoor space, and 2 acres of private land, it’s a place to reconnect—with yourself, your loved ones, and the land.

Bright, cozy, and full of natural light, this open-concept countryside home offers comfort and calm the moment you walk in. The layout is uniquely designed for flow and peace, with a wood-burning fire, comfy queen and double beds, a clean, stylish bathroom, and an open kitchen with great counter space for cooking or entertaining. Beautiful property!

We loved our stay at Lorie’s property! The space has so many cozy touches and with the wood fireplace was the perfect setting for a fall getaway.

Great relaxing weekend

The communication with Lorie was great. She replied quickly to my questions. The location is easy to find. The place is beautiful. Very well decorated and maintained. I loved the bed overllooking the living room. And it was very comfortable. We needed a little time out of the city to relax and that is what we did. We walked to the river. There is a screened gazebo so we can sit without the bugs. There is one also near the property which we used a lot. There is everything needed to cook and more. And good quality too. Lorie takes good care of the place. If you are looking for a great place to relax, with a nice wooden stove to keep you cozy, that is the place. If you want to venture, there are lots of trails around. We had a great time. Thank you Lorie :-)

The add for the place was alittle misleading, when we arrived was not quite what we expected, but our hostess was very nice and willing to answer any questions we had and any help we needed, the inside was beatyfull, clean and well organized, we had a great time and would do it again, thnk you lorie! Suite in Bancroft

- very clean - quiet - cozy spot with everything you might need - well equipped kitchen, bbq, wood stove (for heat in cooler months) - the furniture in the living area is white - just be aware if you’re bringing a pet - access to the York river is just down the hill from the rental space

Lovers Oasis

This space was cozy, fully equipped with everything you need, relaxing, nature filled and very quiet, which is what we needed... We took a canoe ride down the river and stopped at some sandy places to swim and do some fishing... Lori the host was very nice and super chill and her dogs are so sweet and well behaved... Overall it was a great experience and we would go back...

Beautiful property

Lovely oasis

Thank you Lorie for such an enjoyable stay! Such a warm and cozy place; so welcoming and comfortable. Great kitchen with everything you need. We really enjoyed our catered meal from local Chef Shaun and delivered to our place by his lovely wife Carly. A lovely stay and everything thought through to make us feel at home and in need of nothing. It was wonderful arriving with our place already cozy and warm with the fire already prepared upon arrival! We highly recommend and hope to visit again real soon!

Great spot for couples!

I rented from Lorie for my boyfriend and I to celebrate our anniversary together. We had an amazing time and loved the cozy feel of the place. The rental was super clean and had everything we could need from a great movie selection to basic kitchen spices and appliances. The wood stove is great touch and makes it very hard to want to leave the coziness of the rental. Lorie was very helpful in the check in process and days leading up to our weekend away. We’re very pleased and hope to return!

NYE Getaway

Lori's property was a wonderful escape from the city. The space is warm and inviting with its decor and amenities. She has a wonderful book collection that kept me busy by the wood fire. Additionally, the outdoor property is situated steps away from the river and was a beautiful backdrop to enhance my stay.

Great stay!

We loved our stay with Lorie! It was such a cozy spot on a nice, quiet piece of property - perfect for a weekend get away. Our pup Oscar really enjoyed his stay as well! If you stay here, I highly recommend opting in for the bagels and scones by Chef Shaun - perfect thing to have in the morning. Would definitely recommend!

It was like a nice warm blanket in a quiet peaceful setting. The host had a fire going for us so it was warm when we arrived. The unique layout was open and inviting and we loved the mix of decor. Thanks for a great night away.

Lovely lodging

Spent a few days in Bancroft. The lodging is quirky and fun, very comfortable and easy to feel at home. There is a fairly steep walk down to the river. The location is off the main road, so you do need to drive to trails etc. It's a good place to relax and enjoy.

Charming residence on large wooded property

This is a fully-equipped country retreat just off a main road on the outskirts of Bancroft Ontario. It is well set up for a romantic and relaxing country getaway. The large property includes trails, a meandering river, a useable TEEPEE, fire pit, screen gazeebo, picnic table and gas bbq. The rental is a lower level walkout with its own entrance and full privacy, built aroud back and downslope from a main residence. Very well done and very cozy.

Amazing Stay!

It was just as advertised - the perfect getaway to unplug, and unwind. We used the location as a home base to explore the nearby areas and it was the perfect spot for that. The kitchen came in handy for making sure coffee and breakfasts were ready in the morning. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect getaway if not for my dog injury caused by owner’s dog

This property was perfect for my getaway with my adult daughter. The unit was impeccably clean. The outdoor patio with the BBQ was great. We really enjoyed our canoe rides on the York river that runs along the back of the property. The only negative was that our small dog was attacked by one of the big dogs that live on the properly. While I accept that we bear a part of the responsibility for the attack, the owner should have warned us to keep our dog away from her dogs. Quite frankly my daughter and I were ourselves a bit intimidated by the dogs at times.

Lorie brings over 25 years of experience as a wellness professional and former business owner in the Bancroft area, where she offered services in deep tissue massage, reflexology, life coaching, nutrition, and biofeedback. Now retired from hands-on healing work, Lorie is focusing her energy on becoming a certified Nonviolent Communication (NVC) trainer, deepening her lifelong commitment to personal and community transformation.

She currently volunteers with the North Hastings Community Trust and serves as Chair of the Board, where her leadership, compassion, and vision are deeply valued. Known for her warm presence, spiritual insight, and ability to inspire, Lorie is a mentor, teacher, and guide to many. With a humanitarian heart and a passion for empowering others, she continues to uplift her community with a positive attitude and exceptional people skills.
