I’m sorry, but this is simply not an accurate representation of what occurred. The bed was less than six months old, made of solid wood, and was in excellent condition before your stay. When we inspected the property afterward, it was very clear that the bed had been physically broken. Unfortunately, the bed was only one of several issues. The rugs were stained, along with towels, walls, and comforters. A baby bed and jumping seat were also left behind in extremely dirty and deteriorated condition. Checkout was at 11:00 AM, yet the property was not vacated until after 1:00 PM, and our keys were taken instead of being left as instructed. It took more than four hours of additional cleaning to get the unit back into acceptable condition. We documented these issues, submitted them to VRBO, left our review based on the condition of the property, and provided an invoice for the damages and additional cleaning. It is concerning that these claims about our home are now being made after the damage invoice was submitted and disputed. We have no issue accepting responsibility for legitimate maintenance concerns, but we will not accept responsibility for damage caused during a guest’s stay. We have documentation showing the condition in which the home was left and stand behind the information we provided to VRBO.
