Enjoy a unique experience by staying in our yurt on a quiet ranch.

Never been in a yurt? It is a tent-like circular fabric structure with a wood lattice frame. Our yurt has comfortable furnishings such as a queen bed with linens, a propane free standing stove, electric lighting, 32' flat screen HD tv, fully equipped kitchen (including oven, microwave, refrigerator, plates, pots, etc.) and a bathroom with a shower. There are several fans (overhead and free standing oscillating) along with a window air conditioner unit. The floors are polished pine wood with French doors that open to a deck with meadow and forested views.

Leave your worries at home as this is a place to come and unwind.
Near hiking, lakes, restaurants, quaint downtown, and historic gold mines.

This yurt is non-smoking.

Fantastic hosts and place!

This is our third time staying at this wonderful and relaxing yurt. The hosts (Jeanette and Michael) are the most warm and gracious hosts. We were greeted with a delicious peach cobbler and fresh coffee. Thank you for making our Anniversary memorable, once again.

Delightful!

The yurt was quiet and beautiful and had all the features and amenities you could want. Michael and Jeanette were wonderful hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. We had an excellentl nights sleep and will be returning on our next visit.

Quiet Yurt on a Gorgeous Property

Jeanette and her Husband we're the most warm and welcoming hosts. We only had a night to spend and arrived late, but they we're still there to show us everything about the Yurt and get us properly checked in. Wonderful Getaway

Best Vrbo experience

As many other reviewers have commented, staying at the Yurt was a terrific experience. It's cozy and clean and it's in a lovely, peaceful setting. The owners, Jeanette and Michael are very congenial and they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need to have an enjoyable experience. The yurt will be our first choice of where to stay in the Grass Valley area.

A cozy stay with friends

We had a wonderful stay at Jeanette and Mike’s property! It honestly felt like we were just staying with family friends on a beautiful ranch. Jeanette gave me a tour of the yurt and property and made sure I tools to help protect against the mosquitoes. She was communicative throughout our stay and said to reach out if we needed anything which made us feel right at home. While they sadly no longer have their alpacas, we got to meet and visit with their new puppy who was too sweet! Really the only thing we had trouble with was getting the WiFi to work as the yurt is slightly to far from the main home to get good signal and our phones didn’t have great signal in the area either (we have T-Mobile), but honestly it was nice to be off the grid and if I really needed signal I just took a short walk and it worked fine. The yurt was super cozy (especially since we were there during a storm and had the fire going) and the kitchen and bathroom were stocked well. We definitely look forward to visiting this property again in the future! Thank you Jeanette & Mike!

Cozy and Private, Nestled in the Trees

The yurt has everything you need, and it's in a beautiful location just 10 minutes from GV or NC. The hosts were friendly, welcoming and accommodating, and the alpacas were nice too. The best was to wake up in the comfortable bed to the sound of so much birdsong! We loved it and will definitely go back!

Cozy in the Woods

Perfect and private yurt in the woods with a gas fireplace, plenty of blankets, roomy bathroom and a freshly baked apple crisp in the refrigerator. The hosts, Michael and Jeanette, seemed like old friends. As did the pup and the alpacas, who loved the pellets we fed by hand.

Cozy & comfy Yurt in a beautiful area

We had a great overnight in this immaculate, warm and well stocked yurt. It feels even better than glamping, just like a little cottage with beautiful views and just up a little hill from adorable alpacas. The owners Jeanette and Michael are super kind, communicative and right next door if needed. Their goldendoodle came around and was super cute too! Hope to return again!

Fabulous stay

Little Slice of Paradise

We had an amazing time in the yurt. Grass Valley was such a charming area and the property (and owners) are just fantastic. The alpacas were adorable and the owners were very accommodating and great communicators. If you have T-Mobile service you can expect to not have any reception, but my Verizon work phone worked just fine. Wifi was not good, but honestly it wasn't a huge issue at all as we wanted to be disconnected from the rigors of daily life. I would absolutely come back again as this was such a beautiful place and such a memorable stay. The owners have put a lot of thought into what makes a good stay and it shows. I absolutely adore them too. I would give 100 stars if I could!

Exceeded Expectations!

The host and hostess were very gracious and welcoming (as was their dog and his girlfriend.) The accommodations were first rate and the atmosphere was relaxing. The next time I visit the area I will check to see if this is available first.

Super welcoming and peaceful!

We had an amazing stay at Jeanette and Michael’s place! They were both so kind and welcoming. Jeanette left us cookies when we checked in and introduced us to the alpacas! The yurt is gorgeous, clean, and fully stocked. We will definitely rebook and you should too! Thank you for a great stay!!

Our stay at The Yurt was wonderful. Great fun. Jeanette and her husband are excellent hosts. Everything was provided, and Jeanette even added a few extra touches. I would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat.

Fell in love with a yurt

The accommodations were perfect as was the lovely, private property, the owners were so friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed the surroundings including short drives to water, a state park, downtown Grass Valley and dining and dessert gems. What a find, and we would recommend!

Slice of Heaven

We loved our short stay at Jeanette's yurt. It was cozy and everything we needed for a getaway to Nevada City and the Yuba River. The alpacas were cute and curious. Jeanette and Michael were friendly and responsive. Would definitely recommend to others, and would love to come back and stay again!

Beautiful Yurt

Our stay at the yurt was a truly magical experience. Hosts Jeanette and her husband were the embodiment of warm hospitality, offering a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel at home instantly. Jeanette and Mike are such nice people. They were wonderful and friendly hosts. The Yurt is beautifully set in the trees and waking to the songbirds in the morning was almost better than the comfy bed. Would definitely recommend!

Best Apple Cobbler!

We had such an incredible night at this yurt! It is nestled amongst the most beautiful trees and landscape. The owners Jeanette & Michael are super sweet and went out of their way to ensure we had frest ground coffee, half and half as well as a delicious apple cobbler waiting for us upon arrival. The alpacas were amazing, and so sweet, but the real gem was getting to know Corky, their sweet Goldendoodle who we just adored. Everything about this property was amazing, and we will definitely be making our way back to visit!

5 Stars across the board!

This was FANTASTIC! The hosts are the sweetest people, so so kind and we enjoyed talking to them. The yurt was beautiful, so cozy and romantic. The full kitchen and bathroom were a huge plus. We have AT&T and service was great. We got to feed the alpacas and that was such a special experience. The yurt has a gas fireplace and space heater that worked great, and fans / air conditioning for the summer. We would highly recommend this to anyone, and have already recommended it to several family members and friends. We will be back when visiting the area again!

Wonderful relaxing experience!!

The owners were great, they were so friendly and welcoming. There was home made apple crisp with fresh ground coffee and cream waiting for us when we arrived. The yurt is beyond amazing and the property is beautiful and in a wonderful location to everything.
