Cozy Cottage Near Scotts Flat Lake

500 sq ft cozy cottage separate from our main home in the woods with a private bedroom and queen size comfy bed with memory foam topper, bathroom with tub, living room with queen size futon and memory foam topper for extra sleep space, and kitchenette for cooking meals. Outdoor space to bbq, dine, and relax in. We are an 8 minute drive to Scotts Flat Lake, a short walk to The Wheelhouse Restaurant and Harmony Market, and a 5 mile drive to downtown Nevada City. Amazing mountain bike trails surround our home along the magical pioneer trail. Our cottage is the perfect location for your next getaway. Sacramento is an hour drive. The beautiful swimming holes of Yuba River are a 25 minute drive and Tahoe is 45 minutes away. There’s so much to do and enjoy in the charming towns of Nevada City and Grass Valley and activities abound for the outdoor enthusiasts.

Best alternative to tent camping at Scott’s Flat

We had a wonderful stay! We’ve been camping at Scott’s Flat for the past 18 years with our church. This year we needed an alternative to tent camping as my wife was recovering from knee replacement surgery. Hayley’s cottage was perfect, had everything we needed, and just 5 minutes away from our group campground. We’re hoping to stay there again next year.

sweet, cozy well located little cabin

simple, comfortable space -- surrounded by tall trees in a little clearing, with private feeling even as located in a small neighborhood of houses and close to owner dwelling. well located to get down to the river, out on trails or wander around the little towns of Grass Valley and Nevada City -- and a short walk to get bbq dinner, with live music some nights, and a small market for lunch or basic foods/supplies.

Perfect cottage!

This place was just perfect for me and my partner. We were attending a wedding at Harmony Ridge Lodge and it was so close by making it the ideal place to stay. The owners were so sweet and so accommodating too! It was an adorable place with games and everything that I wish we had been able to stay for more than the one night we booked it so that we could've really enjoyed it to the fullest!

Cabin in the woods

We were in town to visit my sister and my newly born nephew that live in Nevada City. This was a great cabin to come back to and relax in while we weren't with family. It rained the whole weekend so we weren't able to enjoy the outside amenities, but the cabin was lovely. Would definitely recommend and would definitely rent again the next time in town.

Beautiful and spacious cottage in the forest

My spouse and I were visiting Nevada City for a friends’ wedding. We booked the place because it was walking distance from the venue. The cottage was adorable and had everything we needed. The photos definitely don’t reflect how spacious and cute it is. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect everything. I am a clean freak and this place was spotless with no odors like many places. Hayley was awesome. I can’t say enough good things about her. We weren’t able to stay all 4 nights due to smoke from nearby fires. She actually adjusted our rate, even though she had no control over the situation. We will stay there again without hesitation. Besides, I’m wanting to be honored again with a nighttime visit from the coyotes!!

Perfect place

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this adorable little cottage. it was well-equipped with everything we could have possibly needed or wanted! We needed a little R&R time and this was a perfect place to do just that! We will definitely be back for a longer stay.

Sweet little spot

This is a great home base for a small group to use for day trips all around Nevada City. The Wheelhouse Bar and Grill is walkable with great food, great music and great beer. Hayley and Troy were very considerate and the cottage was clean and enjoyable. We drove the 5 mins to Scott’s Flat Reservoir and rented kayaks and paddle boards for an enjoyable day. All very close! If I was pressed to complain it would be that I didn’t get to spend time with their adorable dog. We will be back!

Our favorite area in Nevada city is right outside our door. We’ve got the pioneer trail for mountain biking and hiking in walking distance, Scotts Flat Lake a short drive down the road, downtown Nevada city 5 miles away, and their river a short drive.
