Located just over an hour's drive from Washington DC on Maryland's southern shore, this property in historic Charles County is a perfect retreat for a week or a weekend. This luxury waterfront rental offers 4000 sq. ft. of living space with 4 bedrooms, including 2 master suites each with 42" HDTVs, and 3 1/2 baths. The first floor features a fully equipped gourmet kitchen with granite countertops (foodies take note), a master bath with jacuzzi, a Great Room with gas fireplace opening to the deck and just steps away to the Potomac River and a private dock. The second provides 3 bedrooms, each with water view, a welcoming family room with 60" HDTV, and an additional deck. The third floor loft offers a queen bed, an additional sitting area for quiet conversation, and a gaming locale. The private pier is great for fishing, swimming or simply witnessing the breathtaking sunsets over a 6 mile wide stretch of the Potomac River. This modern property features gleaming hardwood floors throughout and enjoys the efficiency of a geothermal heating and cooling system. The expansive sunlit interior provides a quiet ambiance with dramatic views of the southern Potomac.

Fantastic!

We really enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous property over the Thanksgiving holiday. The house is very spacious and the kitchen is well-equipped. The views and natural light are second to none and loved the small town feel of Cobb Island. We hope to come back again soon! Thank you!

Wonderful week with family.

Coming together to celebrate a wedding.

Good friends coming together to celebrate our dear friend son’s wedding. The house was clean and accommodating, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The view was spectacular!!

Magnificent

So elegant comfortable spacious & quiet. What a great place to escape and enjoy the water. We rented several houses for a family reunion. Each house hosted dinner one night. This house was by far the most convenient for cooking and serving a large meal. The dinner table easily seats 10 and can squeeze in 14 with a couple folding chairs. It’s a wonderful house and given the chance we would never leave.

A time to celebrate

This is our 3rd time renting this beautiful house. That should tell ya something . Meredith continuously reigns supreme as the hostess with the mostess. She’s attentive to the customers needs before they even step foot onto this property. Everything you will need is there and if not…..the family dollar is up the street and Walmart is across the bridge. We enjoy our trips to Walmart. We celebrated Sep birthdays, a farewell and attended a wedding in Swann Point. We enjoyed the pier. We purchased crabs from Captain Charles and they were delicious!!! We fished. We had a wonderful time. This house is like no other on the island. The architect of this house is brilliant. We LOVE THIS HOUSE!!

Beautiful home and lovely family holiday

Our vacation week was wonderful. The house is comfortable and the sunsets are spectacular. The family spent our evenings playing lawn games and our days kayaking and fishing. The owners provide all the essentials and our host was always available, knowledgeable, and very kind. A wonderful week indeed.

Great place for family getaway

This was such a gem for our family getaway. We went with our family, kids, and their godparents. Perfect place to do a crab boil, walk to the local coffee shop for breakfast, and watch INCREDIBLE fireworks off the dock for the 4th! Meredith was super responsive and great to work with. Highly recommend.

Monumental Birthday

This is my 2nd time renting this property. It was amazing last time and more amazing this time. It was the best birthday ever with family, food and fun. Can’t get enough of this property. Not a cooking cutter home. Space galore. They have leveraged every square foot of this home making it so functional. It has everything that you can think of and will need to make unforgettably memories. Fishing and crabbing on the pier is always a hit. We even enjoyed Cobb Island day. Will be back in September. Thanks again Meridith….you’re AMAZING!!!. I replaced your chair that blew of the pier my last stay. I bought it from the new dollar general.

No PIER pressure from a cousins staycation

They were strategic with every square foot of this property!! It’s loaded with everything you’ll need to create new memories and have a good time. We fished on the pier and caught so many catfish!! We filleted them prepared them for dinner!!! Amazing!!! Meredith was attentive to my fireplace inquiry with a quick resolve. Nice BONUS loft area on 3rd level (bed, sitting area and foosball table). Again…BONUS 2nd level with TV and sitting areas. Now that I’m thinking about it…kinda wished a tv was on 1st level and in all the bedrooms. Anywho…kitchen well stocked with every gadget you can think of. Bikes and chairs in the garage. Don’t let one the chairs blow into the River like I did. It can get windy on the pier. BONUS…Two refrigerators in the kitchen. 6 vehicles fit in the driveway. Picnic tables and more items outside for your enjoyment. Rested well, had run and will surely return!!! Worth EVERY PENNY!!! Thanks again Meredith!!! You so ROCK!!!

Beautiful sunset view!

We had our second fabulous weekend at this home. The kids enjoyed the playground and meeting other children on the island. The kitchen had everything we needed. It is a nice relaxing place to be.

Gorgeous and relaxing river house

The house is spectacular and the views of the water are amazing. We spent a week reading, playing games and resting. The goal was to break up the monotony of covid in DC. However, food choices are super limited and go grocery shopping before you go. If you just want to rest and relax then this is the place. There isn’t really anything else to do in the area or on the island.

River Sunsets

We enjoyed our relaxing stay on Cobb Island! This spacious home is well appointed with comfort and rustic ambiance. We felt right at home! We have to recommend the crab cakes from Jacks Crab House as well!

Perfect weekend

This was the perfect family weekend. The children spent hours fishing at the dock. The sunset was spectacular. We enjoyed walking on the island and the kids made friends at the playground. The house was very comfortable, had everything we needed, and Meredith was very helpful and responsive. We look forward to planning another trip. Thank you for the great fall weekend!

Wonderful

We wanted to get out of DC for a week or so (pandemic blues). My husband and I, best friend, mother in law and a couple close friends/family members in our covid bubble. We ended up staying for 1.5 weeks. The house is stunning. You can see the water from everywhere on the first floor, pretty much every room on the second floor (except maybe laundry room) and the 3rd floor loft. When our friends joined midweek they stayed in the 3rd floor loft and did say it got a little hot up there (it's the "5th bedroom" so no big deal) but everything else was more than comfortable! The house and views exceeded expectations! Dave's island meats (Only market on Cobb Island) was surprisingly well stocked with a broad range of grocery items and we found we didn't need to drive into La Plata. Captain Johns has great food. Other guests mentioned there was no ladder from the dock but one has been installed. Dock in great repair. We did use the ladder to access the river in inflatable kayaks and other floats. There were plenty of towels, folding chairs, dishes, cutlery, paper goods, etc. Kitchen had pretty much everything we needed except food storage containers but we grabbed some ziploc at the store and problem solved. We replenished the things we used up. Beds, pillows etc. Very comfortable. We met the new neighbor who just bought and fixed up the house next door (very friendly!) The internet is high speed but the router is not good (need to reset often) so the Wi-Fi is spotty. I ended up working in the laundry room for several hours plugged into the Ethernet (remote workers just be advised). Yes there are some bugs, so brinf your bug spray, candles, incense or whatever works for you. You're outdoors on the water. It's nature. All worth it for the total experience. I defy you to stay here and not want a house on Cobb Island by the time you're done - if you are even willing to leave. Sunsets are stunning. Mornings are peaceful. Everyday is beautiful. I would 1000% go back in a heartbeat. Meredith was very nice about letting us extend our trip a couple of days and a late checkout our last day when I needed to take a couple of work calls. Excellent hosts all around.

Cobb Island MD Get-away

This home was awesome. Everything about it was wonderful. Right on the Potomac River, awesome deck, beautiful new dock, gourmet kitchen for cooking, quiet for resting and renewing, and just being a family. Even the general store was so stocked and adequate, you don't have to leave the island. Thanks, we had a great time.

You are going to love Cobb Island, I often describe it as Mayberry on the water. A place where the schedule slows down, folks walk around and talk to neighbors, and most importantly it's a place to unwind and relax.

The dock and pier are best places to spend your time. The view is great. You can watch a sunset, throw a line in the water or simply read a book. Bird watching is also fun, Bald Eagles come by early in the year until they get chased off by the Osprey which are fun to watch on the hunt. Purple Marten birds can be found flying around all year.
