Beautiful, quiet and tranquil. Loved sitting in the Adirondack chairs by the fire watching the river and wildlife. Sugar Island is fantastic, definitely will return.

This was a great little getaway located right on St. Mary’s River and we lucked out with good weather so we were able to still use the pontoon boat. Quiet neighborhood. Very easy check-in and checkout.please make note that you can only access the property via ferry. We thought it was such a fun experience!

We found the property to be as described. We had excellent communication from the host, even with a list of questions. The home has great views.The pontoon was great and ran well. This is our fourth consecutive year to the island and we enjoy coming back every year. The fishing was a little rough, although the weather was great!

Incredible host! Always available for questions. Always helpful! We were there in September and saw so much wildlife. There is nothing more beautiful than bald eagles diving for food in St Mary’s River. So many different species of birds in the area. Looked and listened for moose, wolves and bears but didn’t see or hear any this trip. We will be back though! Couldn’t have been happier with this host, facility and location.

Worth every penny! This host is amazing! Great communicator - super friendly and helpful! Always available for any questions. This location is absolutely beautiful - so peaceful! Incredible views. Loved the pontoon boat and fire ring outside. Loved the cozy cabin - very comfortable. Could not have been more delighted with this experience.

This is a cute, comfy place to stay. It is nicely updated inside and the beds are comfortable. The backyard and chairs are very nice. The lack of places to hang a towel in the bathroom is a little frustrating. The steps down to the pontoon are pretty wobbly and made me a little nervous. Overall, we were happy with our stay.

The house was great for what we a needed, a relaxing getaway with the family. The large dining table made it perfect for family dinners. The access to the river was so much fun for everyone and being able to use the boat was a big plus for outings throughout the day. It was one of the hottest weeks of the year so far so it was a little hot. The window unit was in a bedroom so it wasn’t able to help cool the rest of the house but we bought three fans and placed them in front of windows and it was enough to keep the place nice and cool. Tequamenon falls was only a hour away and that was an amazing experience. We all had a really great time and I think having a nice place to lay our heads was a big perk. Thanks for hosting us!

House was very roomy an expectation was fulfilledWe were there for a two night stay but would love to return. My mother was born on Sugar Island and it’s the first time I’ve been back there in 40 years forgot how rural it really is.

Everything was excellent as it has been every year, we have stayed here. Clean, comfortable, beautiful setting and peaceful. The fishing was not as good as normal, but we had a great time anyway, as usual.

Wonderful stay

Sugar Suite is a beautiful property. Not too far away from Sault St Marie. Very clean and comfy house. Boat was as advertise but it did the trick for my angler husband and kids. Check-in was easy and getting a hold of Laurie was super easy and got a quick response. Would recommend and stay again.

Family fishing fun!

Finding the perfect place for our family reunion that offers a boat, plenty of nature, and comfort for senior parents is tricky, but Laurie and Scott have created the perfect location. We love our visits and memories here!

Great location

Wonderful stay as usual. We did miss the canopy that was on the pontoon in the past but it didn’t deter us from fishing. We had a great time!!
