We were moving our son in for the 2026 college year! We had plenty of space and beautiful mornings with a views as if you were in Heaven. Thank you for the easy and lovely stay. Had a beautiful basket of snacks waiting as we arrived.

The house is beautiful. It’s spacious and has everything you need. They even provided Dove soap, shampoo, and conditioner so that people with sensitive skin can still use it. The host is responsive and communicates well. It was a great place to stay while celebrating our son’s graduation from VT. It’s 15 minutes from Lane Stadium and 10 from Kroger but you feel like you’re away from everything.

This property is a beautiful mountain oasis for your large family to relax, sit on the deck or patio, cook steaks on the grill, play pool, or watch the wildlife including deer and many species of birds. It is a spacious home with many separate areas and is meticulously landscaped. The kitchen is perfect for chefs including a gas cooktop and a double wall oven. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need during your stay and are very easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this immaculately kept property! A!

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful home in Blacksburg for a Virginia Tech game! The views were absolutely gorgeous, and the location couldn’t have been better — only about 10 minutes to Virginia Tech, the grocery store, and all of the restaurants and shops along Main Street.It’s honestly hard to put into words how cozy and homey this house felt. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were staying in our own family home — almost like going to your grandma’s house. The owners did such a wonderful job making the home feel personal and welcoming. They had a beautiful basket with snacks, a bottle of wine and a hand written note to welcome us! We truly felt like we knew the family who lived there, which made the stay feel so special. It’s obvious they love their family and want to share that love with others. We enjoyed admiring all the memorabilia and unique touches of the house.The house is beautifully laid out, with plenty of space for everyone, and it was incredibly comfortable for our family. It was the perfect place to gather, relax, and enjoy our time together.We would highly recommend this home to anyone visiting Blacksburg. We absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to return!

Very beautiful home, very cozy. My family and I had a wonderful time. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Plus my twin daughters loved seeing the deer right out the windows. Very peaceful place. Thank you for sharing your home! The Rooks Family.

The History behind our beautiful home:

Upon retiring after a 32-year career serving in the United States Air Force, our parents made their final military move from Norton AFB, CA to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Blacksburg, VA. They accepted a position as the new Commandant of the Corps of Cadets at Virginia Tech. We say ‘they’ because our parents were always a TEAM.

Blacksburg quickly became “home” as they were finally allowed to let their roots grow deep. They became active in leading the Corps of Cadets from 1989 to 1999, as well as participating in many other Virginia Tech activities and the surrounding community at large. They were members of the Blacksburg Country Club and Blacksburg United Methodist Church. During this time and even into retirement, Mom and Dad opened their beautiful home often to host many gatherings for co-workers, friends and family.

Our whole family (one married son, two married daughters and six grandsons) came to love this beautiful area and call Mom and Dad’s Blacksburg home, our “home-away from home”. There were so many special family memories made within these walls, and in this wonderful community over the years. None of us attended Virginia Tech but we are all consummate Hokie fans, and wanted to keep the property in the family.

We hope your stay here is spent making wonderful memories with those most dear to you. All we ask is that you please make yourself at home and treat our home as you would your own!
