The water views are spectacular and the location is perfect for experiencing all that Boston's North Shore has to offer. This seaside cottage is located on Lothrop Street at Independence Park & Beach on Beverly Harbor, which the Boston Globe selected as one of the ‘20 Best Streets in Boston and Beyond’ in 2012. You will be instantly captivated by the waterfront activity just steps from the front door...sunbathing, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, wind surfing, fishing, boating and sailing. Kayak and paddle board rentals, several beaches, parks, fishing piers and marinas are all just steps away.
Just a few blocks away is the vibrant downtown area with numerous restaurants, cafes and shops as well as the train station.

Just 2 miles away is downtown Salem, known worldwide as the site of the infamous Salem Witch Trials of 1692. There's much to see and do related to the trials throughout the city. Other tourist favorites include Nathaniel Hawthorne's House of the Seven Gables and the world-renowned Peabody Essex Museum. Salem also boasts many fine restaurants, waterfront dining, unique and antique shops and a vibrant nightlife. Whether you prefer a walking or trolley tour, there is much to see. The loft was gorgeous! Vey clean, cozy, and came with all the necessary amenities. The location was absolutely perfect, close to everything but still very quiet and peaceful. Our hostesses was amazing and very responsive to the few questions we had. Love this place and hope to visit again in future!

Salem girls trip

This property was perfect for our girls’ trip to Salem. It was a great location with an option to hop on the train or grab an uber. Would recommend

Cute and cozy in great location!

Kathy was very welcoming and gave great recommendations for local restaurants. The location was perfect for us since we were mainly visiting Salem. The apartment was super cute, cozy, and had all of the basics you could need. The only downside was climbing all of the stairs, but not a huge deal. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful charming seaside apartment

This charming apartment was the perfect location for exploring Beverly, Salem, and the beautiful North Shore towns. Kathy was quick to respond and the apartment has everything you need for a comfy stay! Don’t miss out on the gorgeous sunrises from the balcony! Coffee in the mornings or wine in the evenings on the balcony is such a lovely experience to watch the sailboats in the sea. We hope to stay here again on our next visit!

Fabulous house, beautiful location

We fell in love with the property, right across from the beach in a beautiful neighborhood. Kathleen is a great host, and her home is beautifully appointed. There are a lot of stairs to get to the unit, so just something to be aware of.

Beverly Waterfront Escape

Can not wait to return. As soon as you walk in, you feel relaxed with all of the northshore touches and crisp, clean rooms. Kathleen was wonderful from booking to checkout, answering all of our questions. We attended a very busy reunion with many daily events at Endicott and it was almost more of a treat to return to our own "nest" from the festivities to recharge and get back to the college. 5 stars! We have already booked anothee stay!

Perfect!

Everything about this property was amazing! The apartment was is beautiful, and nicely equipped, the beds were super comfortable and the view is amazing! Kathy is an awesome host, very responsive! Highly, highly recommend. Please note: this is on the 3 floor and there is no elevator. I had no issues, just consider it when planning.

Close but far

This property was perfect for our stay. We wanted to see Salem, MA but my son is easily overwhelmed so I didn’t want to be right in Salem during Halloween. When he needed a break, it was easy to get back to the property and the calm. It was clean, quiet, safe, well lit. It is close to a beach so if you’re visiting during a warmer season, you only have to cross the street. The property is also close to the availability of visiting Boston, MA and using other modes of transportation rather than driving yourself! The ONLY reason I gave this property 4/5 stars is because it’s at the top of 3 flights of stairs which isn’t something everyone can do easily. However, if that isn’t a problem for you, I would definitely recommend this for your stay. The host was gracious and very easily communicated with for any questions.I would stay here again without any hesitation.

Wonderful Graduation Weekend

We had a great adventure in Beverly. The weekend was dedicated to a graduation at Endicott. Our last daughter in college. The place was an excellent location for the stay and a relaxing stroll on the seaside. Everything was in perfect order and the host greeted us when shortly after we arrived. Thank you Kathleen for making our moments in Beverly beyond our expectations and very memorable

Very comfortable

A very, very clean spot, comfortable, well supplied, but It is on the third floor. Nice view but only from a small porch. We would stay here again but would recommend that the house number be more visible. Nice little beach across the road

Amazing location and beautiful apartment!

The location can't be beat and the views were great! The beds and couch were extremely comfortable and overall, the apartment was wonderful. A few things (speaking from experience of someone who owns a cleaning business for rental properties in the tourist town of Lake Placid, NY) the kitchen desperately needs cooking staples such as glass baking dishes and storage containers, maybe a pair of scissors as well. I had to use my nail clippers to cut off tags from things we bought in Salem. Also, the ceiling fans were filthy and layered with dust. The first time we turned the one on in the kitchen, dust went flying. Other than that, we had a wonderful time and plan to visit the area again! Thanks Kathy for renting us your wonderful apartment!

I assure you, the kitchen is/was extremely well equipped as I inventory monthly, however some items tend to 'walk' and others are lost to breakage. Had you conveyed your concerns while staying I would have promptly addressed them as I live on the property. Beverly Lothrop Street

We had a great week in Beverly and enjoyed the third floor apartment. Beautiful view from the front balcony on the street and very pleasant within. The sea breezes were cool enough in August that we didn't use the A/C. Easy walk to public beach and Cabot St for coffee and restaurants. Could improve listing with more specific arrival instructions, but otherwise wonderful.

Nice way to experience the area and get a feel for the lifestyle

Enjoyed our stay the location was great. About a 30 minute drive to Boston one way and 30 minutes to Rockport the other.

Great, cozy seaside place

Great place... very clean and airy yet cozy. We cooked a few meals and watched a few movies (we brought our Apple TV and the wifi was strong enough to stream movies). Our host helped us with all our questions in a timely manner.

Lovely Apartment in Beverly!

This was our first time using VRBO and it could not have been nicer. The apartment is charming, clean and has a beautiful view of the ocean from a small deck off the master bedroom. There is also a larger deck off the back (kItchen) with a nice table and chairs. We kept the windows open and had a wonderful ocean breeze. Check in was flawless. We enjoyed driving around and checking out all the quaint towns nearby. There were also a lot of good restaurants in Beverly that you could walk to. Salem is 5 minutes away. I would definately recommend this property.

Super relaxing vacation rental!

Kathleen's rental is lovely. The ocean breeze kept us cool and relaxed. The neighbors were friendly and courteous and Kathleen was quick to answer questions and meet our needs. I absolutely recommend this vacation rental.

Beautiful Apartment

I stayed for a long weekend in May - the apartment was in perfect order and the views were wonderful. Kathleen was very courteous and happy to share information about the local area. This is a third floor unit so you'll get a workout on your way up, but it's well worth it! Quality of the interior space is well above average and hard to find in similar rentals in the area. I would certainly stay there again.

Amazing views, Excellent Host!

What an amazing rental! Gorgeous views of the ocean and beach! We went to sleep and woke up everyday to the sound of the ocean! Everything you need is provided. The apartment was clean and the pictures do not do it justice! Kathy was such an amazing host! We did not want to leave and can't wait to return!!

Private Oasis

This apartment in Beverly has a gorgeous view as it overlooks a park, beach and the ocean! The apartment was spacious with a great layout. There is a deck off the backside of the apartment and a balcony overlooking the beach off the main bedroom. The kitchen and bathroom were updated and stocked with anything a traveler would need. It is conveniently located near downtown Beverly so you can walk to local restaurants. This is a great launching point to visit Boston (take the train from Beverly Depot), Rockport, Salem, Gloucester and even Southern New Hampshire. The apartment is on the 3rd floor and requires a climb which was not problematic for us but something to keep in mind if you are carrying children or travelling with someone who might have difficulty with stairs. We loved the third floor because it was like a private oasis. Check-in was flawless and the owner is responsive and accessible. We highly recommend this VRBO.

Early morning views were the best!

What a wonderful place to stay while you enjoy all the North Shore has to offer. My family and I stayed there this July to attend a family wedding, and everything in this listing went very smoothly. The bedrooms were in great shape and plenty big to accommodate my 3 college age children. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking breakfast, making coffee, and late night cocktails on the sweet deck right off of the kitchen. Kathy, the owner, was just a phone call or a text away and was very quick to respond to anything that we needed during our stay. The unit was up on the 3rd floor, so if anyone has issues with stairs, this could be a problem. There were 2 staircases to get to the unit, so it felt incredibly private and homey. This was my first experience with VRBO, and I would come back to this site in a heartbeat!
