The cottage on Pine Lane at Hemlock Hills was a perfect little piece of heaven for us! Perfect place to unplug and spend time in nature with your loved ones. The path to the river and the swing were our favorite! We had coffee there every morning. Thank you to Tammy and Mitchell for everything!

The property was great and very peaceful. Saw lots of wildlife and caught lots of fish from shore. The grill was brand new and it cooked up some great steaks. We took some morning walks with our Golden Retriever and all the neighbors loved her and she loved all the attention she got from them as well. There is a little mom and pop store in Posen called ETs that served up some good Hudsonville ice cream on a sugar cone. They also sell bait. Next time I’ll make sure to bring a good book to read because there is no phone service if you have Verizon. I had to drive down to the end of the road to make a phone call. Not a big deal too me but some people can’t live without phone now a days. Overall it was a good time and I would definitely go back and do some fishing in the lake.

Such a wonderful stay in a wonderful little cottage!! Great place to unplug and unwind in complete peaceful solitude. Plenty to do and explore around the area. Communication was great and easy!

Host is not pet friendly and charges an additional fee in cash when you arrive and 2 days after departure and someone else is in property I’m charged for broken furniture that wasn’t broken and or dirty when we departed if there was any issues it should have ben informed to us that day waterfront is more like a overgrown ditch don’t recommend properly or host

We stayed at the cabin mostly just for nights to have a peaceful night sleep with the kids. We were in MI for a small reunion at the family hunting camp. The cabin was perfect for chill time and relaxing looking out at the snow covered trees.

Awesome Cabin, amazing location, perfect fishing trip! Overall exceeded expectations!Spacious outdoors environment and access to Thunder Bay River was very scenic. Sunken Lake is plentiful with all kinds of fish.: smallmouth, largemouth, pike, perch, and pan fish. Very thankful for this opportunity.

Wonderful getaway

Beautiful, quiet, peaceful. Close enough to Alpena that you can experience some of what a city has to offer, far enough away that you have peace and quiet. The kayaks got put to use on the river and everything that we could need had been thought of. Plenty of dishes to use. Plenty of chairs to sit by the fire. Plenty of firewood to burn. Check-in was stress-free. We met the host for a quick tour and they were available via text if we had any need. Cell reception in the area was spotty, but that's not always a bad thing. A great opportunity to leave work at work!

We were in town for a wedding and this cottage was perfect for our stay! The cottage was clean and well stocked. We enjoyed the kayaks and sitting around the fire at night. If you are looking to unplug and want a quiet, peaceful place on the river, this is your place!

Peaceful and Perfect

Our family had a great time. It was a peaceful location, the kids had fun on the kayaks, and there was a lot of space for our dog to run. We couldn't have asked for a better place. It was clean, comfortable, and we had great communication with Tammy!

A little piece of heaven

The house was super clean, comfortable and well maintained. The owners obviously put a lot of thought into making everything easy, comfy and homey for their guests. The gated porch was a wonderful place to sit outside and enjoy nature with our dogs. We saw a bald eagle, deer with fawns, and lots more wildlife. It was an easy walk to the serene river where they have provided a bench swing; a perfect place to sip coffee and watch the river while you relax in a beautiful wooded surrounding. They provided 2 kayaks and the lake is just a short paddle away down the river. It was private and quiet and located in a beautiful part of the Country where a short drive can take you to other interesting sights and towns. We would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful getaway and we hope to return for an even longer stay someday.

One of my favs

Have stayed here many times . Close to many attractions but my favorite is the fishing ..caught 4 pike, many perch, and small mouth bass last week my parents really enjoyed the trip definitely will stay again

Perfect escape from city life

This was the perfect location for everything we wanted to do while up north. Made day trips to Oceqouc Falls, Mackinaw City and Seagull Point Park. The two teenage boys loved cruising around in the kayaks, even caught a large mouth bass. The house was exactly as listed, and Tammy was great to communicate with. We did have some rain so unfortunately no campfire this time, but I’m sure there will be a next time. Would definitely stay here again, and will also recommend it to family and friends as well.

Peaceful

Lovely, quiet area for a peaceful stay. The home was everything the listing stated. Beds were comfortable, linens plentiful, and the home was spotless. The lack of wi-fi was more than we bargained for, but that’s our own lack of imagination, I suppose. We would love to return to this gem of a property.

Peaceful house

The house and property was very clean & peaceful. We explored the area most of the daytime hours and sat by the fire at night. It's within 30 minutes of several beautiful beaches, light houses and waterfall. The kids also enjoyed fishing and kayaking in the river.
