HIllside Getaway with Pool

Extra Large studio apartment in a hillside home. NO TELEVISION SET Full private kitchen, bathroom with shower, dining area and pool (unheated.). Located in the picturesque town of Santa Paula, 15 miles to Ojai and 17 miles to Ventura. I live in on the top floor of the home though there is ample privacy between the units and separate, private entrances. Full use of the pool. I do my best to let guests have the pool to themselves. NOTE: BED IS ON THE SOFT SIDE. There are steps to go down to reach the unit. $40 pet fee and pets must be approved before booking.

We had the loveliest stay. The home is gorgeous. So unique. We loved the original features of this historic home, and the book collection, record player and records were a vibe. The pool and garden area was also perfect for relaxing. We had an event in Ventura on one day, and visited Ojai on the next, and this home was the perfect location to see both. Thank you for a very relaxing stay!

I spent a few nights here while exploring the area. It was a perfect home base. Cute and quiet. You need to know the bed is soft, it was comfortable but softer than I am used to. I enjoyed reading by the pool when I wasn’t exploring.

Great little getaway. Definitely "old California" eclectic vibe. Pool was nice and clean. Neighborhood cats were cute and friendly. Close to everything we wanted to do. Keep the windows open during the day, but close them at night as there is a strong burnt rubber smell at night. Host was responsive and friendly.

So easy to communicate with Jack. The place was clean and cozy. Great reading material and cool records with a record player. Perfect for a short stay in Santa Paula.

This was a perfect fit for our stay in Santa Paula. We have family here and this home is convenient, clean and well-equipped.Communication was imple and prompt and it was just an easy stay. Would stay again, no question.

Lots of room, well appointed kitchen, lots of lights. Easy check in. Quick response from host when I asked about getting some heat. Beautiful view.

We enjoyed the pool once. The location was good. Everything was clean and well maintained. Landscape was nice and we had a great view of the mountains. The only drawback for us was getting our luggage/food into the unit. A little bit of a struggle for us going from the car on the street and carrying stuff to the unit. If I could recommend something that would help is if we could have backed into the driveway to unload it would have helped with hauling our stuff. We are seniors and in fairly decent shape but it was kinda a hassle to get our stuff in and out.

Ideal location for our purposes. Unit was clean. Pool and surrounding area was inviting but weather was too cool to use. Had issue with kitchen sink but owner was very responsive and repaired it quickly.

We enjoyed staying at this quiet and cozy efficiency in Santa Paula. Our host JK was very helpful, communicating with us about the place and interesting points in the area. Our main purpose was to visit the Channel Islands National Park. It was less than 30 minutes to Ventura Harbor. Santa Paula is a quaint town and the property sets in a quiet neighborhood. The pool was clean and we enjoyed a cool dip in the warm sunshine.

I booked this place because I perform with an event band and we had a wedding in Ojai, so I made a mini-vacation out of the trip. Jack was an excellent host! Communication was smooth and painless and I found everything as described. From poolside, you can watch the occasional private plane coming and going from nearby Santa Paula Airport--where actor Steve McQueen once had a hangar. Also, lots of birds--Hummingbirds, Scrub Jays, Mockingbirds and more flittering around nearby trees and shrubs--so if you like that kind of thing (and I do), this is a perfect place for you. If you're hungry, hit the Vons grocery store, which is close, especially if you're a late eater. Many of the eateries close early so you're not left with many food options. Ventura Beach is 20 minutes away or head the opposite way into Ojai and further into the Topatopa Mountains for some truly beautiful views and scenery.Two things of note:1. there are three small flights of stairs from street level to entry of the dwelling so it may be more difficult for people with mobility issues to access, but the path is well-lit at night. 2. The shower is small so if you're a larger person, moving around to wash yourself could be challenging.

This was the perfect place to stay for me and my dog. My dog loved the yard and it was beautiful! Gorgeous plants and awesome mountain views. There was a doggy door in the laundry room which was directly connected to the studio. The bed was very comfortable. Jk was a great host also.
