The Kids won't want to leave!!! Our kid friendly home has something to offer everyone!!EXCELLENT views which include beautiful sunrises over Mt. LaConte, the aerial tram, downtown Gatlinburg, a game room with FREE REAL arcade games that will for sure entertain adults and children for hours,located near one of the three Chalet Village community heated pools (open mid-May to mid Sept.),and 1/2 mile from the entrance to Ober Gatlinburg ski area. All of this for a great value!! PLUS, we have PARKING!! We have a parking area that can fit 4-5 cars across and everyone can get out or park a motorcycle trailer!!

Our Chalet is a large A-frame design. It has three levels with a bath on each level. The first level has 2 bedrooms (1Q, 1F), a full bath and a laundry facility (washer and dryer). The main level has 2 bedrooms (2Q's), a full bath, the living/dining room,gas fireplace with sunken living room, kitchen, and decks which surround 2 sides of our home, and the hot tub. The 3rd level has a bedroom (1K ), plus a bed (1F ) on the loft, a bath. The game room is its own room off this level and has couches. Our cabin is close to all the area attractions(Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, Cherokee, National Park entrance and more). It sits on top of Ski Mountain in the Chalet Village neighborhood and our street ends with the boundary to the National Forrest which allows for an occasional visit from wildlife, i.e. 'L'il Smokey', a black bear, that likes to visit our home from time to time in search of their next meal. Even though, we are on top of the mountain, we are still only 3 miles from downtown Gatlinburg and 15 minutes to Pigeon Forge.

We have WIRELESS INTERNET SERVICE, FREE LONG DISTANCE PHONE SERVICE for US & Canada, and digital cable. We have stereo systems, DVD and VHS players and a movie library for your viewing pleasure. We offer a complete kitchen and dishes with a set up for 15.

Our home has something for everyone...entertainment, close to all area attractions, views, the house is located a lot away from your neighbors on all sides, and fun. The word I usually use to describe our home is that is has 'Great Flow' for a group. While the kids are up in the game room, the adults can enjoy a movie or views from the deck.

Update: The Hot Tub was replaced in January 2022, and is working great.

Nice older chalet. Clean and quiet. Lock your car doors, had a bear get in our car and trash it. Also had them watching us while we were in the hot tub and laying on the decks. Nice location to get in town and out to pigeon forge.

Nice stay

The cabin was located in a very ideal place being within 5 minutes of downtown Gatlinburg. You could actually see the Ober Gatlinburg tram just overhead. The owners were highly responsive and the house came ready with everything you need for food prep as well.

Fun time in the Smoky Mountains

We had a great time at this quaint cabin up in the Smoky Mountains. The kids (ages 7-15) and the adults alike loved the game room. The hot tub was amazing, with beautiful views overlooking the mountains. We didn’t see any actual bears, but we know they were there! I enjoyed my stay.

Lovely spring break getaway with family

The hot tub and game room were a big hit with our group. Driveway indeed had plenty of parking and our group of 10 had plenty of space to spend time together for meals or games (or apart for quiet time). The location was convenient to the National Park and the owners were excellent about early communication with clear instructions.

Great location

We stayed here for the sole purpose of it being so close to the Ober Gatlinburg resort. It was a great spot. The house is a bit outdated and I gave 4 stars on cleanliness because there was hair in the tub in the downstairs bathroom. But otherwise a nice place to stay, especially for multiple families!

Bear Drop Inn

Views were absolutely gorgeous! The price for place was very reasonable for vacationing on a budget. Can be in downtown Gatlinburg in about 10 to 15 minutes! The house was dated and could use some updating but suits your needs. My grandkids loved the game room. You will definitely see some bears!

Accurately advertised cabin in the woods.

Other than minor issues (bear ruining hot tub liner so keeping hot tub clean and bear free was difficult) our family found this house perfectly acceptable and accurate with photos. No special bells and whistles but still a comfortable home base for us all during the week. The adults enjoyed the pool table and the kids really enjoyed the arcade games. Thanks for the hospitality!

Bear Drop Inn

Eight people were in our group, this included three generations. We enjoyed our time at the cabin, but the property is dated and in need of repairs. Also, The inside stairs are very steep. The third floor shower is not usable due to the slant of the roof.

Home just as described

The listing is accurate. Home is just as it appears in photos. It is an older home with some outdated design and decor, but we knew that before we booked the stay. There was plenty of room for everyone in our party, and the games kept everyone entertained while we were in the home. Some of the games didn’t seem to be working properly, but there were plenty more to choose from. Communication was friendly, and we had everything we needed to access the property easily upon our arrival.

Would definitely come back

Everything about getting information we needed and checking in was great, I enjoyed the simplicity of it. The pictures did not show some of the age and wear that was there but we didn’t mind, and the pictures made it seem way bigger. But again plenty of room for us. We used the hot tub twice and it worked great. The trip to Gatlinburg was quick and easy, pigeon forge not so much. We did end up seeing a bear on the property but it was a welcome treat as we love wild life. I do wish the tv remotes had been labeled for each tv, we never really got that figured out. All in all I am already trying to figure out when we are going to come back.

Rundown old property

This is a throwback to the 70s and not in a good way. Everything from the carpet to the furniture and everything else is old and shabby. There are absolutely no mountain views from the house. The stairways are steep and narrow, nobody with any mobility issues ahould consider staying here. There is a constant flurry of some white powder coming from the peak in the living room that coats the sofa. We had a thunderstorm one day and the roof leaked in two places. We actually left a day early because everyone was ready to get out of the place.

Bears

The cabin was nice to many bears they were in the hot tub. Couldn’t go in. They were all ways around the house. I was cooking on the grill one came up on the deck, I had to go in the house. They nocked the grill over . It should have been chained down. They were on my truck a lot and a car my truck had a $1,000 worth of damage. My tunnel cover. Scratches.And a few dents. Beautiful area but would not come back.

A great place for families and friends

We had a great time and when needed, the property owners responded quickly and were helpful. The home was well stocked with dishes, pans, and utensils. We did run out of dishwasher tabs and trash bags for the main trash can, but I’m sure if we’d asked for more, they would have been supplied. There were lots of beds that were all pretty comfy. If you’ve got so many people they need to sleep on the couches, bring an extra blanket or two. We didn’t find any in the dressers. The grill works great and the hot tub is also very nice. The arcade games all worked and we played lots of pool. One last thing, it’s up high in the mountains but close to the end of the strip in Gatlinburg. Ubers will drop off and pick up at the house but if you’re driving you’ll want to have a car with some clearance and horsepower to get up the driveway. This is a great property!

Our Christmas family getaway

Our stay was a Xmas/birthday present to my husband and family. We had a great vacation and the home was plenty big enough for us all. Few minor issues we had was checking in, fireplace went out night before we left, water on 3rd floor bathroom didn't work. House had everything needed. Overall great stay and great family home! Bears are are real thing here! We did not lock one of our car doors and momma bear opened our door and helped herself to some food. No major damage just claw marks in our leather seats as a souvenir. The next day she back with 2 cubs. It was great! They did however destroy the garbage cans at the bottom of the driveway. We are already planning and looking forward to staying again next year. The game room was a big hit for our adult children. Weather was rainy and foggy for 3 days so we only got to enjoy downtown Gatlinburg our last day and it was amazing! Driving up the mountain at night was quite scary! So wish we could of seen more but our main mission was family time in the cabin and that's what we did! You won't be disappointed in this home! Thank you for sharing your mountain chalet home and looking forward to our next stay!

Wonderful location, a little out of date, but we knew it going in and still well worth the rate. Hosts were commuincative, very reasonable with check out list, and wonderful. No issues during stay, except lack of pillows for the amount of people we booked for. Wildlife was abundant, feel like better door locks would be useful! We all had a great time.

The house needs updateing it has potential to be a really cool place, but it was very dirty! The walls, doors, light switches, etc. And there was no mountain view from the house.
