This was one of our favorite homes we’ve ever rented. The location was perfect, a quiet dead end street near the harbor but a convenient 10-15 minute walk to everywhere we wanted to go. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen and bathroom were newly renovated and stocked with anything you could possibly need. Lots of thoughtful touches. We wished we’d booked for longer and plan to come back in the future!

Adorable, comfortable, clean, bright, and walking distance to so much! Carol truly made the difference between a great stay and truly being welcomed and feeling at home. Even though it was just one night I feel like we could have spent a week there. Sitting in the stunning fenced backyard watching our cattle dog mixes frolic around in the morning Salem sun was picturesque. There were toys, blankets, food bowls, indoor and outdoor water dishes, treats for the dogs and for us. I highly recommend.

The bathroom and kitchen areas were brandnew and very clean. The rest of the space is charming and very comfortable. The only drawback is there is no door between the living room/kitchen area and the sleeping areas.

Excellent stay in an excellent location. Steps away from the House of the Seven Gables, easy parking, water views from the living room. The hosts were friendly and had excellent communication. The bed was comfortable and the living room and kitchen were clean and spacious. Wonderful experience all around.

Amazing property! Location is so close to Salem and you can see the ocean from the windows. Everything in the apartment was fantastic. They placed toiletries in the bathroom and that was so nice! The added snacks and drinks were also appreciated. They were super fast with anything we needed. They also said goodbye and hoped our homes were okay (recent floods in the area). Their level of caring warmed our hearts. We hope to stay again!

Carol was so friendly and helpful. The home was warm and had beautiful yard perfect for our little dog. The host was so sweet to offer biscuits, poop bags and dog bowls! I loved this place and Salem was the best all around thank you again! We hope to be back!

The property is adorable. So well decorated! It is located in the perfect spot to walk to all attraction, shops and restaurants. Carol was such a great hostess and we can't wait to go back!

My husband, two dogs and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Carol is a very gracious host and the house and yard are beautiful and worked perfectly for our dogs. Also, the neighborhood is great with a coffee shop and restaurants within a short walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.

An incredible find! Not only is the place beautiful and kept in such amazing shape, but it’s also in a wonderful location — right next to the water and no more than a 15 minute walk to Downtown. Carol is also an incredible host. She was so attentive and responsive to any and all of my questions, offered early check in and late check out (even double and triple checked to make sure I knew I could stay later if I needed, just to make sure). All in all a wonderful stay that made for a practically magical trip.

Very spacious accommodation. Everywhere you look there was a sweet little touch! Kitchen and bath were beautifully updated. Wish we would have been there for more than one night to enjoy the well appointed kitchen. Books of local interests and games were available for guests. Walkable location and very peaceful!

Our stay at The Two Gables made the highlights of our recent trip to Salem even more enjoyable and stress-free. The apartment is comfortable, accessible and clean; allowing you a safe and cool space to recharge in between your adventures. You cannot ask for a better location between waking up to a walk in the garden, a view of House of the 7 Gables and the bay, while also being a short walk into town. Additionally, the hosts anticipated even the smallest of their guest's needs ahead of time, with any remaining questions answered in notes left for guests upon arrival. Close by: I would suggest The Bit Bar downtown for fun and drinks, the PEM for some leisure, and a ride on the Salem Ferry to Boston, or trolley in Salem for adventure. Thank you, and we can't wait to stay again!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The property was peaceful, private, and incredibly comfortable. The beautiful yard was one of our favorite features. Amazing flowers, bunnies hopping through the grass and birds singing each morning. It felt like a little sanctuary.The bed was exceptionally cozy, and we slept so well each night. Every detail of the space felt thoughtful and welcoming, creating the perfect home away from home. The location was ideal, offering easy access to everything Salem has to offer while still feeling tucked away and serene.We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Thank you for sharing such a special place with us.

From the moment we drove onto the property to the moment we drove off Carol and Dan were incredibly warm and welcoming. At the same time they provided us the privacy you need during a get away. The house has all the charm of an old home with the amenities of a modern one. Carol's attention to detail left us and our fur baby feeling taken care the whole time we were here. The home and property are beautiful with an amazing view of the water. We loved he location and we hope to be back soon!

Oh my goodness, I just do not think I can say enough great things about this place and the hosts Carol and Dan. This is hands down the cutest and best rental that we have stayed. Carol has such an attention to detail with her set up, that it just instantly charmed the pants right off us. The yard reminded us of the Secret Garden entryway it was sooo adorable. Carol already had dog friendly restaurant recommendations for us upon arrival and had some treats not only for us but she thought of our furbaby too. Her husband Dan (while on his way walking to the gym) took the time to walk us down to Essex street and provided us with some history lessons as well along the way (Carol you really should rent him out as a guide lol) then we ran into him a few days later and he guided us to the Salem Ferry (such a great guy). From the moment we pulled up Carol was warm and friendly and there for anything we needed. We truly enjoyed all of their recommendations and accommodations. To top it off Carol remembered me mentioning we would be there on our wedding anniversary and she surprised us on the anniversary day with a special treat. I mean come on… that was just to dang thoughtful. This place is sooo close to everything that we only used our vehicle when he had a day trip further outside of Salem. We have already let Carol know that we will be back, do not pass up the opportunity to stay at this beautiful and charming getaway. Thank you again Carol and Dan for your hospitality!

This house used to be located on Turner Street, next to House of 7 Gables. The Turner family, who owned the 7 Gables, owned this home also, and actually lived in it a long time ago! Since then, house was moved twice (or thrice?) to its present location. Kitchen & bath were just completely updated, as well as floors, lighting, & HVAC. Lots of character with modern update!
