Great base for a quick South Lake trip. We stayed one night for a show at The Hangar right across the road, so the location was ideal. Kitchen had the basics covered, easy check-in, and the river running behind the house is a nice touch. Good value. Would stay again.

Wonderful location with an amazing view of the river and meadow. House was spotless and we had everything we needed. Comfy beds, blankets and pillows; all the kitchen utensils and cookware we needed; and just all around very welcoming. Perfect Tahoe getaway and would definitely stay again in a heartbeat!

Great location and wonderful backyard! Out family guys trip had a great stay. Easy to get in and out, plenty of space. Less than 30 minutes to Sierra-at Tahoe. Would love to stay again!

This cabin was everything we could have wished for and more. Ample space for my family of five. It was conveniently located close to everything with the most beautiful river just out back. I can't wait to go back to Tahoe and stay here again. Oh, and the host had great communication. She was very nice.

We were there five days rugs were dirty around the shower was awful. My bed down stairs had dirty covers and sheets, the mattress had a larg pee spot on it that was nasty. Handles to close the windows are broke, the lock on the patio door is broke. It was not a nice stay

The house is amazing - we had a great time walking out the back door; fishing, catching crawfish, seeing a lot of wildlife.

We loved your home! The view is amazing & saw 2 bear the first evening. The house had more room than we anticipated, with a short walk to the store. Only problem was with the propane heater, it was either off & cold, or too hot, but as we left, the man came to install a new thermostat. Also, previous guests did not put their garbage into bear receptacle, so animals got into the cans they had used behind house. I used my own bedding because of strongly scented laundry soap. Thank you, We would definitely stay in this lovely house again

Great location at South Lake Tahoe. Easy access to everything at South Shore, and the beautiful Upper Truckee River Meadow is right out back, allowing for great views and easy access to trails. Home is very comfortable and well provisioned. The hosts are fantastic, very responsive to any issues or questions that arise.

Everything was very clean and strait forwards. We had a excellent stay. The only issue was the fourth bedroom was not available for us to use. I booked this place because I liked the location and saw four different bedrooms for me and my 3 friends to use. Even though the description only has three bedrooms, I feel that it is unacceptable to upload a picture of a room that is not included in the Vrbo rental and mislead the customers.

Absolutely Perfect Getaway!This property was fantastic from start to finish. The house is beautiful inside and out, with stunning views and a spacious, comfortable feel. The kitchen was exceptionally well-stocked for cooking, and we loved the BBQ plus the great gas firepit on the deck—perfect for evenings.The location is ideal: peaceful, private, and with easy access to the river and wildlands. Our dogs had a blast exploring the area.One small note for future guests: we didn’t see any issues during our stay, but we did notice signs of vehicle break-ins on the nearby street parking (broken glass). Fortunately, the garage kept our vehicles completely safe.The home was spotless, well-maintained, and host communication was excellent. We felt right at home and didn’t want to leave.Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be back!

From my initial questions before booking, all the way through checking out, our communication with the hosts was perfect.The home itself was in the perfect location for us. Right on a calm part of the Truckee River and placed wonderfully past the Y, before the hustle and bustle of being further in town, yet close to everything you'd want/need via and short walk/drive. We immediately felt at home upon entering. The house is cozy, comfortable, and has everything you could want/need without the feeling that can come along with a perfectly aesthetic and showplace-type home. You can exist without fear of potentially ruining something fancy, which, especially staying with dogs (or even younger kids), eases that concern. We're not careless or messy, but like minded people will know what I mean.I was giddy over the well-fenced backyard yard for our doggos, which told me we'd TRULY be able to relax knowing they would be safe if they wanted to explore or just do dog things. The back gate leading right down to the river made it easy to get ourselves to the water and the dogs could just run right out and jump in without a drive somewhere (which is a whole vibe with a dog that hates other random dogs). All "dog- friendly" places are absolutely not created equal, so I'm really driving this point home. Please just pick up after your dog(s), so we can keep having these kind of places to stay.

There was a lot to offer from this property especially for your puppies. I do not have one complaint but only thing to mention is that there isn’t a shower upstairs. The only bathroom upstairs has a tub w/o a shower, so going up and down the stairs was a light workout that wasn’t too bad. Overall we had a great experience here.

Booked this place last minute for one night. The location and proximity to the river with backyard access was absolutely the highlight of the property. It was great having the river view and the access. The yard is just exposed dirt with scattered toys. It’s not landscaped or cared for. The cabin is older and needs some love. It’s not in the best condition. I feel like it could use a deep clean around the property, since random junk was under the deck and in the yard. That being said, it’s a really unique property, with tons of potential, interesting features, and as noted, the river access. The upstairs loft was awesome, but the bed smelled of urine. I have a very keen sense of smell and as I got into bed I could only imagine someone else’s kid wetting that bed previously. The room has a moisture issue at the window, with condensation leading to a mildew odor. The window screen was broken and not secured at the frame, and just sat in the window, in disrepair. Not a huge deal, but something I noticed. The claw foot tub was great. We brought our dog and selected this property based on allowing pets. The price goes up when you disclose a pet is going, for us, increasing 100/night. Considering my dog is a tiny purse chihuahua, seemed steep to me. But a lot of folks have large unruly dogs, so from a rental business perspective, it makes sense. The parking is tight in this neighborhood. Garage is tight. Would book again, possibly.

The hosts were very responsive and helpful. The yard is fully fenced for pets. Nice view overlooking the Upper Truckee River. As for the house it is old! Don’t expect any modern amenities. The decor is old, nothing has been updated. Tile and grout , floors were clean but looked very used. Some may call it charm. Still looks like the 1960/70’s. Downstairs bedroom door doesn’t close due to house settling and warping, Some switch plates are loose. The floors creak through out. The windows in the dining room don’t close all the way. And since it’s the first house off of the Blvd, it can get noisy (bar across the blvd…music). The two bedrooms upstairs are nice with the most updated bathroom with a free standing tub (no shower). The stairs are VERY steep. The downstairs bathroom is old with the outlet in the light base. A bit sketchy and when I plugged in the blow dryer the light flickered. The kitchen is stocked with tons of pot, pans, utensils, etc. gas stove, newer fridge. Deck is worn but pleasant with 4 chairs around table fire pit. The steps off the deck aren’t the best and uneven broken concrete at the base. Bring pet poop bags!!! Never found a pooper scooper, hand picked it all. WiFi was good and huge TV in living room with all streaming and channels! Will not fit large vehicles like trucks. Garage will fit two smaller cars, but no parking unless you park parallel in front of the garage doors. Bottom line is: it worked for what I needed 2 nights.

We stayed here 3 nights. We have a dog so it was great to stay at a dog friendly house. Kitchen is well stocked with all the pots, pans, bowls etc you would need to cook anything. Remember though you are in bear country, I would not let children or pets out back unsupervised. We had a bear visitor on our first morning. It was exciting. I took some pics of him at the dining room window. Centrally located for places to visit in Lake Tahoe!

This is a great house to explore the area from. Clean, well located, great kitchen to prepare meals in. Plenty of room for a family and an amazing view and river access in the backyard. Hosts communicated efficiently and were very pleasant to deal with.
