Información de la propiedad

The Nightingale · King Bed l 5 min to MOA l 75 & 65 HDTV I Ping Pong

Summary:
The Nightingale is a historic 3-story, 4-bedroom home 5 minutes from the Mall of America and MSP Intl. airport. Built in 1925, it rests on a 10,000 sq ft. lot that provides a relaxing getaway while keeping you close to everything in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Our newly remodeled kitchen has a five-burner gas stove and is stocked w/ utensils, dinnerware, and pots and pans. Our beautiful oak dining table seats ten, and we hope our home will feel as comfortable as your own.

The Space:
I grew up in Minnesota and always wanted to renovate a historic home. My parents and I designed The Nightingale to retain its original 1920s charm while being as accommodating as possible for modern lifestyles.

*****Please note: the basement has a separate entrance on the side of the house that I keep as an apartment for myself. Although I travel most of the year when I'm on the property, my priority is the comfort and peace of the guests— the top three floors and the yard are all yours. If I'm around, you may see me tending to the yard or shoveling the sidewalks.

When you use your personal code to enter through the back door, you will find a redesigned powder room and updated kitchen with everything you need to cook and entertain a group of up to ten. The living room has hardwood floors and a plush sectional with a 75-inch Roku HDTV—perfect for a family holiday or watching the big game.

The three main bedrooms are on the second floor, and a modern chandelier showcases the wood banister as you walk upstairs. In the primary bedroom, we have a king-sized memory foam mattress with a dedicated workspace for one and a 65-inch Roku HDTV. The two secondary bedrooms are nested with one entrance from the hallway and have queen-sized beds.

Also, on the second floor is a spacious bathroom with a porcelain tub and a separate milk-house block glass shower that is magnificent in the morning sun.

On the third floor (The Crows Nest) is another dedicated workspace and a separate bedroom with a queen-sized memory foam bed, a gigantic foam beanbag chair, and a 40-inch Roku HDTV. This is my favorite room in the house—perfect for kids who want to play video games or watch movies.

We also have a stunning three-season porch, in-unit washer/dryer, and 8 brand-new Pickleball courts nearby.

Enjoy your stay!

Guest Access:
-You'll have access to all three floors of the house.

-You're welcome to park TWO personal vehicles in the driveway. Extra vehicles, work trucks, or trailers can park for free on the street.

-Please allow homeowner's car 24-hour garage access.

-The back door facing the garage has a digital lock, and you'll receive a personalized code for contactless check-in.

-You will not have access to the garage or basement.

-Laundry (Washer & Dryer): in-unit.

The Neighborhood:

We allow dogs if they don't bark excessively. A few barks here and there are totally acceptable, but we prefer pups who are generally quiet.

Property was in a great location, an older house, but in very good condition. A few things that could’ve been better but was not a dealbreaker. The numbers on the house were hard to see when we drove up that night and when the porch light clicked on, it was so bright you could not see the numbers. There were only six towels for four people, so I felt like I had to wash the towels every other night. There were no washcloths available. The door knob to the red bedroom was very loose and fell off several times. The upstairs bathroom sink did not drain well and the water was barely a trickle no water pressure whatsoever in the sink upstairs. Would have liked a few more blankets or quilts available so that you did not have to use the bedspread to cover up. Really wished there would’ve been some recommendations for some local restaurants as a suggestion to go that are good. Overall experience was A. Just some of these things would’ve made the experience better. The basement is an apartment that is used, and I was not made aware at the very beginning when I rented the place that this was the case however, it wasn’t an issue. They were not a bother, but would’ve liked to have had that communication upfront before I rented.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and for taking the time to share your experience! We're so glad you enjoyed the location and found the house in great condition, that means a lot to us. We also really appreciate the specific feedback, since it helps us keep improving: - Restaurant recommendations (view attached): We did send a couple of local recommendations in our messages before your stay, but we're happy to always share more. Just let us know what you're in the mood for next time! - Basement apartment (view attached): This is actually noted in our listing description. Please let us know how we can make this even more visible up front so there are no surprises. - Towels & washcloths: We're sorry these weren't easy to find! We do keep a supply of extra washcloths in the laundry area. We'll make sure this is more clearly signposted for future guests. - Door knob: We're sorry for the hassle, and we wish you'd let us know during your stay, we would've sent someone right over to fix it. We can't address maintenance issues we don't know about, so please don't hesitate to reach out if anything like this comes up in the future; we're just a message away. - Extra blankets: We keep extra blankets and quilts in two closets as well as a basket in the third-floor room. We're sorry these weren't easy to spot, and we'll add a note pointing them out. We're so glad the overall stay was a good one, and it sounds like most of what you experienced matched what was already available

Very cute, clean, and comfortable house

Much more comfortable for our family than a hotel. Our preschool aged boys loved the 3rd floor room and had a lot of fun. The master bedroom was spacious, and it was nice that there were tvs in 2 of the bedrooms. Fit our needs perfectly. Nicholas was very communicative and helpful, and checking in and out was extremely easy. We would definitely stay there again!

We did our best to accommodate this guest, but she allowed her dog to use our rug as a bathroom. We weren’t able to salvage it and had to throw it out. Most of our guests are amazing, this guest was challenging. We look forward to guests who read the listing before booking and respect our home during their stay.
