Welcome to The Farmhouse in beautiful South Bend, IN. This home merges unique 1940's Tudor features and modern amenities. We've created an open, comfortable, modern space for large groups of friends and family to gather and celebrate life together.

Our home offers a unique sense of history and place and our guests are always our top priority. We're devoted to creating enduring relationships with our visitors by providing attention to detail, personalized service, luxurious accommodations, and gracious hospitality.

A destination in itself, this luxury farmhouse boasts 2,000 sq ft of sumptuous accommodations. The large, open concept living and dining rooms comfortably accommodates large groups who want to lay out a spread of food and spend time socializing. Grab a plate, light up the wood burning fireplace, turn on the 60-in Smart TV (cable TV, ESPN, NBC, Bravo, FOX Sports, Netflix, Amazon, local, Pandora music, etc) flip on the sound bar (use it as a Bluetooth speaker!), and kick up your feet.

Enjoy coffee at the sunny breakfast nook dining table as the cooks prep food in our gourmet kitchen (complete with bamboo floors, stainless steel countertops, and professional grade GE stainless appliances). Don’t miss a second of pre-game highlights on the kitchen's 36-in TV!

Dip in to our gorgeous hot tub or hang out with the hot tubbers at our wrap around bar. Relax by the large fire pit while your friends cook out on the gas grill. Later, move to our movie screening lounge in our fully finished basement to enjoy the 110-in HD projector screen.

Sleeping is luxurious with 1,800 thread count sheets, hotel pillows, and down alternative comforters. All bedrooms have 32-in flat screen TV's.

Great family/group home

We were booked for our granddaughters graduation. The home is large is so many ways yet small and comfortable. Our family thoroughly enjoyed their stay.

Good stay

The overall stay was good. Stayed here for a golf trip so was great to have room for 14 guys. Didn’t stay at the house much but plenty of room, great sized backyard. A couple small minuses, the upstairs bathroom door didn’t close (that’s an issue), been to plenty of VRBOs and this was the only one that didn’t provide shampoo in the showers. For the fire pit in the backyard, would have liked to known beforehand that you need to buy your own wood. The money wasn’t the issue but had to make an extra trip to buy it.

Lovely home with super comfortable beds.

Amazing stay! Clean and nicely decorated. Beds were so comfortable. Host was attentive and responsive to questions. We stayed for a cheer comp and the girls had a blast in the hot tub.

A great space for getting together with friends and family.

My friends, family and I came into town for a ND football game. The house was perfect in terms of both location and size. We really enjoyed the backyard and proximity to the stadium/campus.

Amazing Notre Dame Weekend!!

We are ND regulars, but this trip we came in with a group of family and friends who had never been to a game. The house was just as listed and great for our group. We had enough room for everyone to have their own space. The backyard was awesome, the fire pit and hot tub were great. We cooked meals with ease. Carey was easy to get a hold of and so great to work with. We are definitely rebooking with Carey again!

Football trip to South Bend

A group of 7 friends and I were looking for a place to enjoy a weekend in South Bend to take in a Notre Dame football game and came across Carey’s listing. This house is in a great, safe, clean location and close to the campus and stadium (about 15-20 min walk). The house is amazingly clean with any and all amenities you’d ever need. There were plenty of beds and enough space for our group to stay comfortably. I would highly recommend this listing to anyone looking in to staying around Notre Dame and would absolutely stay here again should I find myself headed back to South Bend!!

Great Location and House!

The house is perfect for large or small groups we had 14 and it worked well! Marshall Fans coming in for the Football game the house is “walkable” to the stadium but it’s about a mile. Location for us was perfect we walked to eat have some drinks and walked back!

Great location

Lots to do: Notre Dame, zoo, parks, chocolate factory, awesome fire pit, nice backyard. Communication was always prompt. Plenty of towels and comfy beds. However surprised that items identified in June 2022 comments were not resolved by the time we came in august. The cabinet door was hanging by one hinge, there was debris under the couches, and in the cushions. In addition the foosball table was not present and only one outside picnic table (not 2 as shown in photos) so could not all sit together for a meal. All in all, we had fun but the house could have been cleaned better and pictures need updating. Hopefully this was just a one off situation.

Cute place but NOT worth the price if you want a nice getaway...

Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this home and the host was quick to respond and very welcoming and professional. The house is cute and full of charm. Unfortunately, however, the house did not live up to the listing description or the price in a number of ways: - The room arrangements/beds available were not as described and did not sleep (in beds) the 12 adults in our group, let alone the 16 advertised. - While the home was overall clean, the state of the house was in disarray: -- The bathroom floor in the basement was sticky. -- Two cabinet doors in the kitchen were barely hanging on or fallen off entirely. The pantry was not stocked as described and we were only allotted 2 paper towel rolls for a two night stay with 12 women...? No kitchen towels, no hot pads, no napkins. -- The coffee pot had an old pot of coffee in it; and as an even larger problem, the coffee we brewed smelled like the Febreeze air fresheners that were in every room of the house... Then, after brewing a pot of coffee that smelled and tasted like Febreeze, we ran a pot of just water to see what was going on, there was a thick layer of white residue that settled at the bottom of the pot, a foamy, layer of residue at the top of the water and the water itself had become cloudy white. -- The kitchen soap dispenser was broken and grungy. -- The hot tub had a layer of sand at the bottom with loads of large rocks. -- In rearranging couches to accommodate our group, we found crumbs, food, and dirt. If we had paid half the price we did, this would have been understandable and acceptable, but at the price we paid, this completely missed the mark and felt like a complete rip off. I'm still not sure how this much can be charged for a rental that is losing its charm with age and lack of upkeep, while not making up for it by going above and beyond to provide amenities: even as simple as fronting $10 to supply the home with napkins, extra paper towels, and a soap dispenser that works (and ensuring your pantry is stocked with the items you claim it will be). And for the exorbitant cleaning fee attached, we expected a clean house, not food under the couches and ick under the couch cushions (which we discovered when trying to find the extra rollaway bed requested). It's also not difficult to ensure your coffee maker is clean and ready for use, instead of feeling like we were being poisoned by Febreeze. All in all, disappointed and wishing we could get some of that money back.

Notre Dame Graduation

Family arrived in South Bend from Maryland, California and New York to celebrated the graduation of my eldest son! This place was great for us to all stay and be together. Luckily the weather cooperated and we were able to enjoy the outdoor area for eating and socializing and of course the hot tub!

Great Stay!

My friends and I moved staying at this quaint farm house! The hot tub and fire place were a great addition. It was very spacious and fit five of us very comfortably! I would defiantly recommend this stay to others!

Great getaway

Our "Framily" enjoyed staying in The Farmhouse for 5 days. The house met our list of wants when we all travel together for our annual getaway. The weather was perfect for enjoying the backyard area and hot tub. The basement allowed the parents to put the kiddos to bed and have some relaxing time later into the night.

We had 4 generations together at the farmhouse. 18 of us, the kids all said that they loved the house and didn't want to leave. All the adults said the best part of our 3 day 2 night vacation was spending time together at the house. We enjoyed every inch of the place. We had a fire our last night, the kids played bags and enjoyed the hot tub multiple times. The moms enjoyed the neighborhood for morning and afternoon walks. We will definitely look at staying here again on our next trip.

The pictures online did not match what we got. The grass and the backyard was unkempt. Bathtub downstairs was not draining well. The beds were very comfortable and we loved the location. We were not able to use the hottub which was one of the highlight of our stay. If someone can walk through before the guests check-in to ensure cleanliness it would give a positive experience.

Looking forward to coming back in the future!

Overall, the listing and photos are accurate. In my experience, we were able to park 6 cars on the property in total. There was plenty of room for my large group (16 guests). The homeowner was very responsive via text when I had questions throughout the weekend. During the day we grilled in the backyard and went to the nearby zoo. At night, the kids enjoyed the hot tub, while the parents enjoyed the firepit at night. The living room was spacious, and perfect for a movie night with the family. The neighborhood was quiet which was perfect for the calm weekend getaway my family needed. I plan on coming back sometime! Thanks for having us.

The location was everything. There were plenty of stores around for us to get to when we needed things. The space was perfect for our group of 15. Easy check-in and check-out process.

The Great State Escape

Just a weekend away with friends before the holidays. Great house with a hot tub, fire place and all the amenities we needed, not to mention great local restaurants! Perfect weekend getaway

We had a wonderful experience! The home is enormous, plenty of room to spread out and enjoy your own space. The rooms were very clean. The decor is beautiful. The weather was nice so we utilized the hot tub and fire pit both nights. Make sure you wear shoes getting to the hot tub, the rocks are super sharp! The owner made sure to check on us during our stay and even let us check out an hour later than planned. I definitely recommend this spot. There were 8 of us and we all loved it!

South bend stay

We had a group of 8 who stayed 2 nights at The Farmhouse. The property was nice, but the property owner made the arrival unnecessarily stressful. We repeatedly messaged her and got no responses at all. After reaching out multiple times, with no response, we had to call Vrbo customer service to request information for how to access the property. Only after Vrbo reached out to her did we receive any information (which was 15 minutes before our check in time). When she did eventually contact us she provided a link to a website that contained all the detailed information we could ever desire, but we couldn't use the information effectively because we received it so late. The bathrooms weren't properly cleaned when we arrived. The downstairs toilet had waste remnants in the bowl and there were used qtips/other trash on the floor. Aside from the above issues, the beds were comfortable and clean. The basement theater was cozy and had instructions for how to operate everything. The backyard was a great spot for everyone to hang out, and the campus was a short walk away. Overall it was a nice space for our group, but it would have been nice if the property owner had been responsive and had properly cleaned.

Great Getaway and Location

Great place if you are looking for a getaway with the family or a group of friends. The house amenities are great and will make for a memorial getaway. Be sure to bring lots of food to grill and s'mores for the backyard.

I'm outgoing and love to travel and meet people from all over the world. I've always been passionate about getting to know people and creating memorable experiences that bring joy in to their lives.

I went to culinary school in Chicago (Kendall College) and started a catering company and walking food tour business. That, along with my passion for travel and meeting people, led me to dream of a bed and breakfast offering top-notch service with unique personal touches for each guest.

Homeaway has provided an amazing opportunity to implement that dream into our very own home. I am thrilled to get to know each of our guests and to be a part of making their vacations amazing, memorable experiences.

I divide my time between Chicago and this beautiful home a mile from the University of Notre Dame in a spectacular neighborhood where I am able to walk to dozens of restaurants and to the beautiful Notre Dame Campus.

The Farmhouse is a welcoming space for everyone. When you walk into our home, we hope that you feel welcome, relaxed, and right at home.
