Keith, a full week in Cape Charles is the right amount of time to actually settle into the pace of that town, and it sounds like the place gave you a good base for it. Hope to have you back.

The location of this house was really stellar. We walked everywhere, to the beach and to restaurants and shops and ice cream downtown. The street and neighborhood felt quiet and safe and the kids had fun riding scooters (that we brought) on the sidewalk. The pictures of the bedroom bed layout are different than what we encountered; which was fine but there are two queen rooms and one room with two twins, the last bedroom instead of two bunks was only one bunk with a twin in there as well. Again, fine just to be aware of. The house was so charming and pretty clean! It’s an older house so lots of creaks and it’s on the smaller side upstairs, but the kitchen and dining area are large and we cooked one night and it had all we needed. Would definitely recommend and we would definitely stay here again!!

Caroline, a neighborhood you can walk everywhere from, beach, restaurants, and a scoop of ice cream downtown, is exactly what makes a stay feel effortless rather than logistical. It sounds like the kids made the sidewalks their own too, which is always a good sign. Whenever your family is ready for another trip, the kitchen and that charming character will be here.

Wonderful Place to stay at in Cape Charles!

We stayed here with 4 adults and 4 children (ages 11-13) and loved it. Check in and out was easy. The location was perfect and we walked to the beach and to all restaurants (we personally never felt like we needed a golf cart to get around). Wonderful backyard to hang out in and great open kitchen layout. The house was clean and we had no issues at all. We would definitely come here again!

It was okay

We’ve been coming to Cape Charles for about 6 years now, and this was our least favorite property that we’ve stayed in. The location is great and the house is generally nice (the kitchen is especially great). The four bedrooms were nice for our family of 5. But we had multiple issues that were quite inconvenient, especially considering the cost of stay. The upstairs bathroom tub drain was clogged (property mgmt resolved this with Drano when we notified them). The downstairs bathroom shower was infested with small flying bugs and the shower was completely unusable. Property mgmt came and treated with bug spray, which didn’t resolve the problem but left horrible toxic fumes for the remainder of the week. So the downstairs bathroom was basically unusable. There were also ants throughout the kitchen and laundry area when we arrived. While the house has AC, two of the upstairs bedrooms do not have any sort of air flow and it was very warm at night. Even an oscillating fan would be a huge improvement. We had a couple other minor inconveniences that I won’t bother listing, but we were disappointed and I don’t think we’ll return to this property in the future.

Hi Erin, Thank you for your feedback. Just prior to your check in we found out that the upstairs air conditioning unit had to be ordered and replaced, which is being done now. We were able to take 2 portable a/c units and set them up in the property prior to your arrival. The drainage system for that upstairs bathroom will also be getting replaced prior to next summer. The spray that we used was an organic bug spray made from plant oils that is safe for children and pets. Thank You!

The large kitchen was perfect for my wife and daughter to spend time together preparing the fantastic meals that we had. We love that you can walk if you’re where you wanna go, whether you looking for a good coffee something nice to eat or just taking in the sides of the beautiful town.Coastal Charmer, was everything we hoped for during our stay.It is well appointed and so comfortable. It feels like a home away from home away from home.

Wedding Weekend!

The house was the perfect size for our family with room to spare. We loved sitting on the front porch to drink coffee in the morning and relax after staying up late for wedding activities. On Sunday we walked to breakfast and had fun shopping. The location was so convenient. We will definitely stay here again for another wedding next year.

There was quite a mess from all the drilling. The upstairs tub didn’t drain, so we used the downstairs shower during our stay. We enjoyed the size of the kitchen and dining room, and the location of the house was nice.

Perfect location for a hidden gem!

Less than a 5 minute walk to the beach or main street (though I recommend bikes for a really great time). The porch was perfect for enjoying the evenings and having your morning coffee. The recently renovated interior brought a modern feel to this 'ol house. I highly recommend this place, especially if you have more than just a few guests.

Can't beat being just over a block from the beach and from shops so location is spot on. It was a joy to see what the new owners had done to update the property. We visit Cape Charles every summer for a week but this was our first stay in the house I grew up in.

This is the third time we have gathered children and grandchildren in a rental there and perhaps the best yet, even during a pandemic which kept us from enjoying shops and dining as much as in the past. Hallmark Moments

Our family stayed at this property for Thanksgiving for the last two years. We enjoyed preparing meals in the spacious kitchen, playing board games, walking to the beach for spectacular sunsets and spending quality family time by the outdoor fire pit. Love the location, Cape Charles holiday traditions and the homes lovely decor.
