Beautiful Craftsman Style Lake Home

Our home is a beautiful Bungalow Craftsman style. It was extensively remodeled in 1999. It has 5 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, a Screen Porch (with hurricane shutters) & 3 Fireplaces. The master bedroom (king sized bed) and another room (queen sized bed) are on the top floor, and the other three bedrooms are downstairs (two rooms with twin beds and one with a king). There is a family room downstairs with a television and games. Adjoining there is a foosball table and a workout room. The living room is upstairs with cedar beams throughout and into the kitchen area. The kitchen and eating area is maple hardwood, and the kitchen cabinets are cherry.
Sleeps 10 comfortably, with additional room in the porch (could sleep 2 on the futon in summertime) No A/C, but fans in every room.
Total square footage is 4,754 S.F.
There is a large flat back yard for games and other activities, right on the lakefront.
Lake view from all bedrooms (Queen room upstairs view goes through screen porch). Flat large yard leading to a brand new dock and lakefront .

Overall we had a great time. We absolutely loved that the lot is flat with the lake. Not having to walk up and down steep steps is a huge plus of this property. There were some minor things that need attention, but for the price, our families were happy.

Gorgeous home perfect for us to have a family get away before school started. Cozy but spacious living areas allowed adults to talk, work, or relax while the kids could be kids downstairs or outside. I especially loved the screen porch off the master bedroom. Hot water practically instantly and great water pressure were welcomed delights. We loved that there was such excellent cross breeze that it was never hot or stuffy inside— just open the place up and breathe the fresh air of the north woods. Definitely will return to this house in the future!

Well-stocked, beautiful lakefront house for our family vacation. For big family groups like ours I often find VRBO kitchens with 5 forks and one pot—this house had everything we could need for several great nights of home-cooked meals. We spent each afternoon in the lake, enjoyed happy hour and dinner each evening, and everyone slept great. Very comfortable!

It was a spacious clean well stocked cabin. Who knew we’d have a heat warning for the entire time we stayed so it was very hot in some of the rooms. My only complaint was that the garbage dumpster was completely full when we arrived and did not get picked up until after we left so we had 4 days of garbage piling up- minor inconvenience during our stay.

Great Family Stay

Beautiful property with all the amenities. Family of 10 with 4 kids ages 10-18. Bedroom layout was perfect. We really appreciated use of the dock and boat lift, the deck, the screened porch, the kitchen and dining room.

Retreat Weekend

Hosted a women's retreat at the house. Perfect place for relaxation, group activities and fun. Being able to rent a pontoon boat and use the pier for the weekend is wonderful.

Great for our large family!

Beautiful house that was perfect for our large family! There was plenty of space for everyone to hangout together and enjoy the amazing view of the lake. Could use some new light bulbs/lighting on the deck and repairs on the pier but overall great place! Would definitely rent again

Great family get away. Plenty of high end space for all. Exterior could use some attention. The deck and dock are a bit tired. The landscape could use some work. Overall a wonderful stay.

Summer Getaway

Enjoyed a great long weekend getaway with friends. There were 5 couples and the house was spacious with plenty of room to spread out and relax, both indoors and out. Kitchen was big and complete with everything needed to prepare meals for a large group. Only negative was only having one bathroom in the lower level. Certainly a place we would book again!

Paradise

The home is very lovely. We especially enjoyed the screen porch off the master bedroom. There were 8 of us plus a four year old and we all had plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen is spacious with a large center island to hang out around. The lake is very clear and would suggest renting a boat from Round Lake Marina. They are super accommodating and easy to work with. Dock needs much attention but they seem to be in the process of doing repairs. My only suggestion would be to bring extra beach towels as there weren't many there. I would also bring beach chairs for hanging out on the dock. We will definitely rebook.

Beautiful Home!

Stayed at this property for a family vacation for 3 nights. This home and the surrounding property is beautiful and is perfect for large groups. The home has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Each bathroom has a shower so getting ready in the morning or washing up after a day on the lake was easy. Also there is a living room on the lower level and on the main living level so there is plenty of space for everyone. The property is on Round Lake and has it's own dock. We rented a pontoon from Round Lake Marina and it was amazing! Just a heads up if you are planning on renting a boat, the marina told us they book the weekends almost a year in advance. So we were only able to get the boat for the Friday and not the weekend. It was still really lovely because we could still swim at the dock, relax on the porch, or explore downtown Hayward the other days. Overall, I would definitely recommend this property to any large groups who want a relaxing place to stay. Thank you to Ben (the owner) for making your home available, we couldn't have asked for a better vacation!

Not worth the money

The property had a few issues. 1) The listing was not accurate, it said one of the bedrooms downstairs had a King size bed, but it was a Queen or Full size. 2) The rooms with carpet were all noticeably dirty with debris. 3) Many of the dishes in the cabinets were dirty 4) The home security/smoke alarm would go off every few hours and would wake people up throughout the night. The property owners did apologize for the alarm issue but did not solve the problem during our stay. Because the house has no A/C, the rooms get really warm during the summer. Two people sleeping in the queen beds is not very comfortable due to the heat. For that, the house really only sleeps 8 comfortably, not 10. The house is in a good location and the lake views/access is awesome. The experience could have been better

Round Lake 20

Overall I cannot give this property more than a 2-3 star rating.. There are four primary reasons for that. 1) the wood deck is in absolutely horrible condition. Multiple rotting boards, some with holes in them and rotting stairway too. My family was afraid to even walk on it. 2) the kitchen was not clean at all. food particles in the silverware drawers. Dirty frig with food from prior guests left in it. Filthy shelving in frig etc. Honestly I doubt the cleaning service even look at that. I think they wiped down the counter tops and that was about it. 3) exterior patio furniture on main deck was absolutely gross / filthy. mud on tables, dirty chairs etc. again I seriously doubt the cleaner service even looked at it. 4) multiple exterior light bulbs out, ceiling fans that did not work etc --- Honestly this place was worth maybe 1/2 of what we paid. left a message for the property manager and never received a call. For what we paid this should have been a high end place. not even close

I’m sorry that we didn’t meet your expectations. We have never had a negative review. The last 3 renters said the following 1. “Thanks for renting your property to my family. Although we didn’t have the warm weather we hoped for, we still had a great time.” 2. “Thanks for being so accomodating on timing and quick to respond. We really enjoyed our visit - we wish we had spent more time there!” 3. “Hi we left. Had a great time. Thank you!” I would like to assure you that our cleaning crew is top notch and thoroughly clean between each guest. We take great pride making our beautiful home clean and welcoming for all of our guests. The deck is weathered and worn from our Northwoods winters, but is regularly inspected and is completely safe. We appreciate your feedback on the light bulbs and were able to replace the one burnt out bulb outside. We also understand that there are numerous light and fan switches throughout the house and it might be helpful for us to label them for ease of use. We do hope that you were able to find some enjoyment with your stay to our beautiful property, Crystal clear lake and the surrounding peaceful Northwoods. Thank you for staying with us!

We have stayed here multiple times in July for our family vacation. It is a very large space, flat yard and awesome lakefront/dock. It is clean and comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with everything you might need. This year there was even AC installed which was very nice. The WiFi is very slow and cell service is spotty which we actually appreciate as it makes it easier to unplug but it is noteworthy if you were trying to get work done or stream something.

Incredible space in an amazing location

Hosted a women's retreat at the property. It was big enough for people to find privacy to read, craft, swim, etc... We rented a pontoon boat from the marina just down the shore and really enjoyed getting out on the lake. The property has lots of room and privacy to make you feel like you're on a retreat away from the world without giving up the modern amenities. Oh and we booked massages in town and went mountain biking. It was all within reasonable distances from the house.

Family gathering

Our family of 7 adults and 3 young children thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this spacious and comfortable house. The bedrooms are at the ends of the house so everyone has their own space. With two living room/ family rooms, as well as two screened in porches, there are plenty of options for gathering. We rented a pontoon from Round Lake Marina (which we highly recommend), and enjoyed touring the beautiful, clear lake and spending time at the sand bar. We also enjoyed the kayaks.

Very nice location. Great acces to beautiful Big Round lake. Quiet and private. House was stocked with amenities and clean. Plenty of room with separation from other bedrooms for privacy. Highly recommend. Hosts very helpfull in questions. 5 star!!!
