Luxury Home With Stunning View

This house requires a 30 night minimum stay and suited for adults only. Please refer to house rules and policies before making an inquiry.

The house is located directly across from The Palace of Fine Arts. The view from its large picture windows on every floor is absolutely spectacular.

Situated in the Marina District of San Francisco with its proximity to all sorts of activities. Walk around the corner to Presidio National Park , where you will find hiking trails, extensive bike lanes, and great restaurants.
Take a stroll to Chestnut Street, where you will find shopping, movie theaters, and more restaurants. A few blocks in the other direction is San Francisco Bay and the Marina recreational area.
It’s an easy drive over the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods, Pt. Reyes and the Napa Valley Wine region.

With 3000 sq ft of living space over 3 floors offers many luxurious amenities. The fully stocked large eat-in chef's kitchen has a Sub Zero refrigerator and Wolf Range. The spacious deck located off of the kitchen leads to the beautiful backyard where the entertainment room is located. Sliding doors open to the covered patio with gas grill, gas fireplace, and dining table. The entertainment room features a 65-inch flat panel TV, stocked beer dispenser, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and half bath.

The master bedroom has a breathtaking view of the Palace of Fine Arts and features a California king bed, walk-in closet, flat panel TV, and blackout curtains. The master en suite bath features double sinks and heated tile floors. The second bedroom offers a king-size bed, couch, and large closet/lounge area. The third bedroom has a full-size bed. Luxury linens and towels.

The living room has a wood burning fireplace and an incredible view of the Palace of Fine Arts.

****We do not have a lock/key box at the house. Reservations permitted by principal occupant only. The primary guest will be personally greeted upon check-in and check out. The property is for the enjoyment of the (registered guests),(maximum of 6 at all times) on the reservation and that any outside guests, visitors, events, or ceremonies are not permitted.

House is equipped with exterior security cameras.

Spending time in this perfect, beautiful home is a touchstone for our family! Everything about it is perfect, beautiful, welcoming and elegant. We love the check in tradition with the wonderful hosts--my boys (now young men!) always look forward to the beautiful cake waiting for them! The home is so beautiful and comfortable that we could be happy staying there all the time, but the location is so perfect that we all take advantage of the walks, restaurants, cafes, farmers markets in SF. Communication with the owners and house manager is always excellent--professional and friendly and helpful.We have had another perfect summer and can't wait to come back next year!

Another WONDERFUL stay for our family. This beautiful home has become a touchstone for our family. We have been guests since COVID, and this year it has been so special to take advantage of the revitalized Chestnut and Union street restaurants, retail, movies. And ever year we are welcomed with special coconut cake (my boys' favorite), wine and cheese! The home is as inviting and comfortable as ever. We are so grateful to the amazing hosts and property manager for another year of special and fun memories made!

One of the best homes worldwide!

We travel extensively using sites like VRBO, and this was by far the best home we have rented in 12 years!. The attention to detail by the owners, and care taker are outstanding. The location, views, neighborhood, and home were all top notch! We will defiantly be back, as this experience was world class. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your wonderful home!

Amazing stay!

The most beautiful and elegant setting in San Francisco. Walking distance to restaurants, stores and the Golden Gate Bridge.. The hosts Teresa and Glen were warm and responsive, checking in with us and taking care of every need we had. And they thought of everything! This was nicer than any hotel we’ve ever stayed at. We will return again and again!

Consistently Wonderful

Our family has stayed at Teresa and Glenn’s home across this beautiful and historical park at least one month a year since 2014 and it has become something we all look forward to every year. There will not be enough superlatives to describe this home, and the consistency with which everything is beautifully in place is simply remarkable. We are so grateful for another memorable stay. Another Memorable Stay

The fact that we've returned to this home again and again since 2014 speaks for itself. There is no better rental home in San Francisco in one of its finest neighborhoods. Everyday we've spent in this home has given my family such a joyful and memorable experience. The home owners are warm, kind, and the most thoughtful, and the housekeeper is top-notch.

Amazing stay

Incredible experience all around. Glenn and Teresa are the most thoughtful hosts. They were quick to answer any questions we had, but in reality we had almost none. The home is beautiful and the pictures don’t do it justice. I highly recommend this for your next stay. I can’t think of anything that we would have changed about our stay.

Another wonderful summer!

Another perfect stay in the Boxwood House

My family and I have now had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful homes many times, and we truly consider it a home away from home. This was our third summer, and we loved being reacquainted with all our favorite things--long walks on the beach and in the Presidio, neighborhood restaurants, cooking fresh vegetables and fruits from the nearby farmers market--but also, as my sons have grown older and COVID restrictions lifted, had new adventures in the city and across the bridge in Marin. The owners of this elegant and impeccable property are consistently welcoming and attentive to every detail. The property manager is lovely, and always available, professional and helpful. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Another perfect stay!

This is my second holiday season staying at this beautiful home with my family. (My family and I also spent two summers there and plan to return this summer). I grew up in San Francisco, and this beautiful, meticulously maintained property always feels like coming home. We love spending time together in the gorgeous house and garden, and especially walking everywhere--to the Golden Gate Bridge, the Presidio, and nearby restaurants, cafes and shopping on Chestnut street. Whenever we arrive, we are greeted by the lovely owners and treated to wine, cheese, delicious cakes (which my boys now know to look forward to) and fresh flowers. The spectacular view is marvelous all the time. We can truly enjoy and relax in this perfect setting, and we can't wait to come back this summer!

Most Impressive Consistency

We've stayed at this gorgeous home at least one month every year since 2014, and every visit here has begun most exquisitely: with fresh flowers in every room, Suzie's cake, cheese and crackers, and champagne. The bed linen are always crisp and fresh, towels plentiful, starter bathroom supplies complete, the whole house squeaky clean, and every appliance working perfectly. Such unwavering consistency is not for show, but simply in the owners' DNA. It's not surprising that many families return to this home at the same time every year. Thank you so much, Teresa and Glenn, for the warmest welcome at our every visit! We will be back again later this year.

Perfection in every way!

From beginning to end, our stay at Boxwood House was a pleasure in every way. The property is exquisite in its location and decor, and meticulously maintained. Every comfort, from fresh flowers and croissants (which my boys loved!) on arrival to deliciously soft sheets to bath salts was provided. The owners and property manager are wonderful, delightful hosts and made us feel welcome from the time we arrived. This truly felt like a home away from home, and our family made such beautiful memories there. We walked to to Golden Gate Bridge, Presidio or Fisherman’s Wharf nearly every day, easily drove to Marin for day hikes and exploring, and mostly just loved being together in this magical home—-meals in the breakfast nook or beautiful garden, reading in the sitting room. The home fosters comfort, relaxation, and family time. I couldn’t have hoped for a more perfect summer, and am so grateful that Teresa and Glenn shared their home with us. I am already looking forward to our next stay! Many many thanks for this special gift!

Perfect In Every Way!

We decided to spend a month in San Francisco in advance of our son’s wedding. One night during Covid, I was looking around at VRBO listings and in one very very lucky click, found this dreamy, magnificent home. Other renters have mentioned all the attributes - incredible walk everywhere location, the most magnificent decor, furnishings and finishes, the fabulous outdoor spaces and the warmth of the owners Glenn and Theresa and Lorri, the house manager. The views !!!! You’ve never seen anything as magical. Within a short time, I felt like a local, walking to get groceries, or have a great dinner. There are so many comfy gorgeous spaces in the house, it’s sometimes hard to make yourself leave to explore the city. We ( my husband, adult son and daughter-in-law) had the best month. The owners have outdone themselves, they’ve thought of anything and everything you might need or enjoy while visiting SF. Absolute perfection!

Absolutely perfect--a second home to our family!

This property is a dream come true. As a San Franciscan who now lives in Texas, I couldn't have imagined a more perfect setting to come back to the city and enjoy it with my family and friends. This was the second consecutive summer stay for my two sons and me, and we have already booked in advance for next summer. The home is immaculate and beautifully decorated, with every comfort and amenity, as well as lovely outdoor and garden areas, allowing for dining and visits al fresco. It is perfectly located, just minutes from Crissy field and my favorite walk to the Golden Gate bridge, as well as walks through the Presidio and to Fisherman's Wharf. My boys and I especially enjoyed the proximity to Chestnut Street with its open air cafes and dining. The home offers parking, and we enjoyed being just minutes away from Marin County and a very convenient drive to wine country. The owners are so wonderful--thoughtful, meticulous, and accommodating. The property manager is wonderful. This truly offers the very best of San Francisco--in a beautiful home that is so lovely that it is comfortable just to stay home and enjoy family time. The kitchen is perfectly appointed, and I enjoyed walking to the weekend farmer's market at Fort Mason to buy fresh herbs and seasonal fruit and vegetables for our family. At check in, we now know to look forward to the beautiful floral arrangements, and especially the delicious baked goods (my boys' favorite)! We truly consider this a second home, and my boys look forward to our time there and feel comfortable in the city. Now Truly A Second Home

Thank you, Teresa and Glenn, for another wonderful stay at The Boxwood House. We cannot imagine having Thanksgiving anywhere else. I’ve booked next year’s stay, a full year in advance again, and this time because our children have asked for us to stay here again. We spent August for the 2nd year in a row here. The home was impeccable. Lorri, the house Manager, and the Gilliams create a wonderful experience in this meticulously maintained home. Every attention to detail has been addressed to create an outstanding stay. The home and location are second to none, with an abundance of restaurants, shops, hiking, walking, and biking experiences close by. The views of the Palace of Fine Arts are phenomenal. The Presidio and Marina are 2 blocks away, plus you are walking or biking distance to the Golden Gate Bridge, Ghirardelli Square, and Fishermen’s Wharf. We will look forward to returning.

New Family Tradition

We spent another November, our sixth stay, at The Boxwood House. Over the last five Thanksgiving Days, our family has built new traditions in what we consider as another home. We sit by the kitchen counter as one of our daughters bakes bread pudding in the well-equipped main kitchen while my husband and son grill steak in the outdoor kitchen outside the entertainment room. We catch up on each other’s news as we sit down to dinner in the main dining room, or in the kitchen. We sit in the living room to read side by side. We watch our favorite sports teams showing on one of the four TV sets. We listen to each other’s playlists over the Sonos system that the owners have installed throughout the house, or sometimes opt to keep the music playing only in one room, whichever way suits our family at that time. We love the big Sub Zero ref in the main kitchen and how much supplies it can hold. For our occasional guests, we’ve been able to offer Stella beer on tap. And we’ve come to expect the fresh flowers in every room in the house when we check in. We will keep visiting this home for as long as the owners will have us. It is perfect for keeping our small family to stay connected to each other despite needing to be apart for the rest of the year.

Fabulous Home in an incredible location

This home has it all. It’s in a spectacular setting facing the Palace of Fine Arts, adjacent to the Presidio, and its within walking distance of Chestnut and Union streets with all their restaurants and shops. Additionally the Marina district and the Golden Gate Bridge are also in easy walking and biking distance. The home has been totally remodeled, and is impeccably well maintained and decorated, with amenities that you might expect of a fine resort. The two kitchen areas have top notch appliances. Additionally the home has 2 separate living areas, plus an outdoor seating area with a fireplace and grill. We will be returning to this fine home.
