When it's time to treat yourself to a well-deserved vacation away from home, there is no better retreat than this private, two-story getaway perched in the hills above downtown Baraboo! This splendid retreat feels secluded, yet it's close to several attractions. You are within easy walking distance of downtown‚ and the many bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques, as well as Circus World, the Baraboo Riverwalk, and Ochsner Park Zoo. By car, you are within a short drive of many fantastic year-round attractions, including Devil's Lake, Wisconsin Dells, Lake Wisconsin, International Crane Foundation, skiing at Cascade Mountain, and Devils Head Resort. This adorable hillside cottage has charming architecture and a view of downtown Baraboo and the bluffs. The beautifully decorated living area provides you with a fantastic spot to unwind and create everlasting memories with your loved ones. Wind down on the designer sofas and stream movies and shows on the smart TV using your own accounts. When mealtime comes, you will be thrilled with the well-appointed chef's kitchen and stylish dining set designed by Blu Dot. The kitchen has gorgeous green cabinets throughout and all stainless steel appliances that will make cooking a breeze, including a cute coffee area. Outside, a tree-lined view deck offers a wonderful spot to sip your morning coffee or enjoy an evening drink while taking in the scenery. There is also a hot tub next to an outdoor dining patio with a view of downtown Baraboo and the bluffs. Sleeping arrangements include two bedrooms on the main floor and two bedrooms on the upper floor. Things to Know As of April 2025, there is a built-in AC system using mini-splits with wall units in each bedroom as well as common areas. The fireplace is not available for guest use. The house is super cute and so nicely decorated. You can tell the owners know what people need for a comfortable stay. They had everything we could need and the management service was very accommodating when we had a small issue.

It’s an adorable house tucked up on a hill. When you walk in, it feels like a true vacation getaway. The interior design and flow of the house is beautiful and extremely welcoming. There was some confusion at first with how much we would be charged because we were bringing our dogs, but they did not end up adding on any additional fees. We appreciated that as the advertising really flashes being dog friendly and there was nothing in the description indicating additional pet fees. The beds were quite comfortable and each room had its own air-conditioning unit which helped control the temperature. There was a little bit of a moisture problem. If we left our suitcases on the floor, everything was damp the next morning, so make sure you use the luggage racks. I do think the housekeeping team could do a little bit better. We ended up going around and sweeping the corners of the ceilings because there were quite a few harmless 8-legged guests that we didn’t want hanging out with us all night. I will say, it’s really tucked away in the trees, so it doesn’t surprise me that there’s a bit of wildlife exposure. I’d also recommend guests wash the dishes and glassware again according to the host recommendations (and give the fridge an extra wipe) because they weren’t totally clean. Ultimately, we had an excellent start and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Next time we’re definitely doing the haunted Ringling house tour!

Overall, our stay was just okay. Prior to our arrival, we had reached out to ask about the possibility of an early check-in and were told to check back the day before. Unfortunately, when I tried reaching out the day before our stay, I wasn’t able to get in contact with anyone from the rental company. The phone numbers I could find were out of service, and my text message went unanswered, which was frustrating when we were simply trying to plan our arrival.Once we arrived and checked in at the regular check-in time, our experience was somewhat underwhelming. The exterior of the property could definitely use some attention—the landscaping was messy and overgrown, and there was rotting food left outside near the garage. The inside of the home was in better condition, although the shower had some mold and could have used a deeper cleaning.The home also wasn’t as well equipped as we would have expected. When we went to cook, there was no cooking spray or oil, and even basic spices like salt and pepper were empty. We also arrived to find there was no body wash or shampoo. We messaged management about this, and thankfully someone did stop by to drop some off.On a positive note, the overall decor of the home was very cute and the space itself had a lot of potential. We just wish the property had been a little cleaner and better equipped, and that communication with management had been more responsive leading up to our arrival.

Great home

Awesome home with lots of character. House was clean and accommodated to our family of four with no issues. Great host with top notch customer service. Close to downtown Baraboo and restaurants and shops.

Charming New Remodel

The house was absolutely charming. It was newly remodeled and everything was in great condition. Dishes, knives, and silverware was also new. Loved the location, plus the outdoor privacy!

Charming Home

The house was perfect for our family of five when we stayed in Baraboo for a wedding. The location is close to town, but very peaceful and quiet. We found everything we needed, including great coffee, a TV for streaming, and plenty of big fluffy towels. We had a great experience, and would definitely book again.

The home was exactly what was pictured on website. Clean, organized, and nothing extra was needed to have a pleasurable stay. There was enough towels for a family of 7 and amenities to be able to comfortably return the property to its original condition when we had to leave. 10/10 would consider to rent again for next summer. Beautiful Home

Such a wonderful home right up the street from downtown Baraboo. It was great for my wife and I, our toddler, my parents, and our pup! Plenty of common space for hanging out, including a beautiful porch. The walk into town is super quick, but it is a bit of a steep uphill coming home. Also easy access to Devil's Lake. We hope to stay here again in the future!

Charming and cozy home

This home is beautiful inside and out. The leaves were just starting to change, which made it even prettier. It’s close to everything, but tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. The house sits high on a hill and the views were amazing. The neighborhood it’s nestled in is very nice and I always felt safe. Highly recommend this house as a lovely place to stay.

Sister Weekend

Perfect for the 7 sisters to bond for the weekend Only drawback was initially finding our way into it and then when our pizza delivery person also had a difficulty finding us. Otherwise nice location for walking to the downtown area for shopping , food and drinks.

Overall a very nice property. Pictures were exactly how the place showed up. The only bummer was the garbage disposal wasn’t working and we had to fix it as the troubleshoot options didn’t work. There was also no body wash or shampoo in the downstairs bathroom. But everything else was good.

Birthday

Coffee and things in the fridge were expired. Corners and under furniture did not seem cleaned for a while. Needed a warning about turning on the heat in upstairs bedrooms as the central heat did not seem to bring heat into the upstairs bedrooms. (Doors were closed when we arrived making it so so cold)

Not a comfortable house!

The house a big disappointment. There is a big bug/critter problem all around and no proper “partial A/C” units in the rooms. I took this house because I needed to make sure it was a comfortable house as I had a family trip planned with my in-laws who are elderly, disabled and have other conditions. I specifically asked questions to the representative from Vacasa to make sure they would accommodate my guests but it was far far from comfortable. We all woke up with bug bites especially my kids upstairs and the AC units DO NOT work as they should! It was a vacation we were all looking forward to that ended badly and I will never book through Vacasa!!!

Not quite what I was expecting.

This place has a great location in relation to Wisconsin Dells. However, upon arrival we were greeted with cobwebs, dust on the fans, dirt on the floor, filthy air-filters on the air conditioner units, stained and slimy shower curtain, spiders in the upstairs bathroom and a sign by the sink that stated if we wanted our plates, cups and silverware to be sanitary we needed to wash anything before we used it. For the price we paid for a weeks stay this place was beyond pathetic. Oh, and don't forget that they didn't make it a priority to let you know that this place DOES NOT come with a washer or dryer on the property. How inconvenient is that for a family of 6, coin operated in the listing means "go find a launder mat down the street." We were not given enough TP, paper towels or Kleenex. We mentioned all this and they sent out a cleaning lady who stayed for 5 minutes and complained the whole time she was there. The hot tub area was covered with bird droppings, leaves, weeds and dirt was everywhere. We wanted our kids to be able to use this area so it was up to us to sweep, clean and hose down the entire area before use. All I can say is that for the cleaning fee we were charged we felt cheated. So, needless to say our expectations were NOT met at this property. Word to the wise-look at all reviews and all the small print before booking.
