Summary:

Walk ten minutes to the sand, then come back to make lunch in an outdoor kitchen overlooking the Francis H. I'i Brown North Course. This top-floor Mauna Lani villa brings three bedrooms, two baths, and room for six to the sunny Kohala Coast, a lovely setup for families or friends who want beach time and space to regroup. At Palm Villas, the resort-style pool, hot tub, and fitness center are yours to enjoy. The Mauna Lani Sports & Fitness Club is nearby with tennis courts and a 25-meter lap pool. Inside, cathedral ceilings, a well-equipped kitchen, and air conditioning keep days comfortable, while the king primary suite gives adults a little separation. Mauna Lani Beach Club's white sand is an easy walk, and the shops and restaurants around Mauna Lani are close for dinner. This is a warm-weather Big Island stay built around saltwater mornings and easy outdoor evenings.



The Space:

This modern top-floor villa has cathedral ceilings, a comfortable living area with a 46-inch TV and surround sound, and a full kitchen with stainless appliances and a wine fridge. The king primary suite has its own 42-inch TV and spa-like en-suite bath. Three bedrooms and two baths sleep six, while the outdoor kitchen looks over the golf course for relaxed meals after the beach.



Guest Access:

Guests at Palm Villas at Mauna Lani in Waimea enjoy access to a shared communal pool, hot tub, and gym, plus garage parking. The grounds offer garden and golf course views, and a disabled parking spot is available. Beach access rounds out an easy Kohala Coast stay.



The Neighborhood:

Palm Villas is within Mauna Lani on the Big Island's sunny Kohala Coast, where dry weather and calm coves make it easy to plan a beach day. Mauna Lani Beach Club is a walk away for white sand and water time. Historic fishponds and the paths around the resort offer a pleasant change of pace, while Mauna Lani's shops and restaurants are close for groceries or dinner. Anaehoomalu Bay is a short drive for snorkeling, sunset, and the bigger beach-resort scene.



Getting Around:

Kona International Airport is about 40 minutes away by car. A rental car is recommended for exploring the Kohala Coast, while the Mauna Lani Beach Club is about a 10-minute walk away. Mauna Lani shops and restaurants are a short drive away. One mid-size car fits in the private garage, and guest parking for one additional vehicle is available first come, first served.

The pool is lovely as is the walk to the beach and the beach itself. The lanai was very relaxing over looking the golf course. Overall this condo worked out really nicely. The kitchen had adequate items to cook etc. The grill is excellent. Some of the furnishings are a bit worn and the place could use a deep clean. The beach equipment needs to be renewed. The local membership beach has shade and works out well though.

Great place, lovely location

We loved our stay! It was a great location, quiet resort, a nice walk to the beach, responsive owners, easy drive to some great beaches. Would stay there again!

Nice family stay

The space is great for a family. Kitchen has everything you need and a great view of the golf course. We frequented the pool and used the outdoor grill (nice feature)! Would stay again.

Beautiful property

We loved staying at this beautiful property. The swimming pool was very nice and larger than it looks in the photos. The property is a short drive to our favorite Hapuna Beach.

The condo complex was wonderful and a great location. The condo needs attention. We had to buy new sheets and towels from Costco because the others were worn out. The walls needed painting, the furniture replaced. The kitchen needs to be cleaned and many items organized and replaced. The guest bedrooms furniture was terrible and linen old. This condo could be a wonderful place with updating. We stayed a month and left a few days early because we were tired of staying in a worn out place.

Major plumbing problem when we checked in and we tried to work w property manager who strung us along for almost a day without resolution or timing on fix. Asked VRBO to step in and they were excellent in trying to escalate and eventually getting resolution. Lost a day of our vacation plus extra food costs for a group of 6. VRBO stepped up and helped us, so I have to say VRBO was excellent in helping us, Property Manager could do better.

Great family trip

Wonderful snorkeling at Mauna Lani Beach Club. Fish ponds are pretty cool too. Dad enjoyed the gym and the kids enjoyed the pool.

Enjoyable stay

This top floor condo has an amazing location and unobstructed views of the golf course. Management team was responsive and addressed our requests timely. Overall, we had a nice stay.

The place was infested with German cockroaches. Not the tropical roaches that are to be expected in Hawaii but the kind that infest apartments in big cities. We let the manager know about it and they just dropped it some traps and a can of Raid. This was a long term infestation that should have been taken care of with regular pest control service. Also, the beds were incredibly uncomfortable. They needed to be replaced long ago.

Great Mauna Lani location

Nice private unit at end of complex, very safe, garage held great equipment for the beach for everyone; loved the beautiful walk to the private beach and ocean access. Kitchen great size for cooking local fish and produce. Snorkeling amazing, one of the best beaches!

Loved this place, can’t wait to return

We were so very grateful we chose this condo. It’s close to the ‘best’ beaches and far enough away from Kona. The grounds are beautiful and the pool /hot tub is very nice. Vacasa manages this property and they were communicative and prompt to respond.

Awesome Place Right On Golf Course

Plenty of room in a spacious 3 bedroom condo. Modern appliances, private parking and plenty go beach chairs. Walk to the beach or drive to several more great beaches. Shopping within walking distance.

Beautiful property

We loved the roomy master bedroom and bath. The kitchen and outside grill. The view from the lanai. The walk to the beach the fish ponds. We could go on and on and on

Great Time

We had a great time the unit was close to everything we needed but yet far enough to feel like we had some privacy. The unit had everything we needed for going to the beach or just staying in and BBQ with the family. Definitely coming back…..

Walk to the Beach!

What a treat to swim at the beach after a day of sightseeing without getting into the hot car, driving for miles and fighting the crowds! The condo had everything we needed for family meals and barbecues. We loved sitting on the lanai in the mornings and evenings. The grocery store and restaurants were also within walking distance.

Good for families

Nice place to book for a family of 6. Pool is neat and clean. Walking to the beach is convenient. I’d get a wagon next time. Management is quick in their response to questions/issues we had. Note for next renter the garage will not fit large capacity SUVs. Will book again on next Hawaii adventures.

We enjoyed our stay overall and found the location to be excellent. The pool and hot tub were clean, well-maintained, and just a short walk from the unit. The Mauna Lani Beach Club is also very accessible, making this a great home base for exploring the Kohala Coast. We appreciated the provided supplies, especially the insulated beach bag.One suggestion would be to provide a comprehensive inventory of the beach and recreational equipment before arrival (chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, coolers, boogie boards, etc.) to help guests plan. Unfortunately, much of the equipment that was provided or left by previous guests was in poor condition or unusable.The master suite was spacious and comfortable, but the mattress had two significant depressions that made sleeping less comfortable. The dryer had a large crack and was badly out of balance, making it too noisy to run at night.It would also be helpful to list common consumables that are available (foil, plastic wrap, seasonings, storage containers, coffee filters, etc.) so guests don't purchase duplicates. The entertainment system was difficult to operate with five remotes and no instructions.Finally, a little more attention to detail would elevate the experience: mismatched light bulb colors in the same room, only one kitchen towel, and no dish drying rack made the unit feel less polished than expected. None of these issues detracted from the beautiful location, but addressing them would make an otherwise excellent proper

Location was outstanding . Pool very nice. Property needs update. From furniture to small appliances, we had issues. No hot water first 2 nights. Bbq Running out of propane . Maybe small things by themself, but together they added up.

Wonderful staff and high value accommodation

Great value. Lovely pool and hot tub, steps from the apartment. Pleasant walk to the beach club. Parking in a garage. One of the better 3-bedroom offerings available in Mauna Lani, and I've stayed in quite a few! We locked ourselves out of the garage in a genius move, and the staff jumped into action in response to my text. Within 30 minutes we were able to get in and get back to beach mode! A dream team.

Amazing stay!

Overall we were extremely happy with our 10 night stay and would definitely stay here again. The main bed was the most comfortable rental bed I have ever slept on. The guest bed was a bit uneven but manageable and we didn't use the twin beds but they seemed like they would be fine for kids. The hosts were very fast and responsive with questions. Everything was as pictured and we had everything needed during our stay and the property is so quiet, it was amazing. The pool and fitness center just behind the building were very nice and clean and barely used by others during our stay. We did not use the actual sports fitness club or pool. Our main reason for always staying in Mauna Lani is to have access to the private beach club, having the key card so you can park at the beach is definitely worth it.

Nice Place!

The condo was great for our family! We enjoyed being on the Mauna Lani property and having access to the beach club and our own pool (which was very nice). You can walk to the beach, but it is easier to drive if you are bringing stuff with you (and there is a lot of great beach stuff in the garage). Decent snorkeling at beach club and the Mauna Lani grounds are pretty. Nearby restaurants are higher end (especially if you have kids) but the grocery store is great with lots of prepared food for easy lunches and dinners. The unit was well-equipped although it was a little dusty when we arrived, and it could use a dish rack in the kitchen (this is a minor complaint obviously!). Very good location for golfers as well. We had a little issue with the key pad on the door, but management was very responsive and also sent someone out to fix it within the hour. We would stay there again!
