Book a stay in our National Treasure, designated a Historic Place by the US Dept of Interior #87001983. Step back in time to the 1770's, when America became America. Then step inside and imagine what untold stories the walls have witnessed over the last 250 years.

Occupied continuously as a farmhouse until 1970, when it fell vacant, The Widow Donaldson's Place has been painstakingly restored to its original state, evolving into one of the best-preserved and largest log cabins still standing. Our adjoining Stone Cottage has been transformed into a media area for those wishing to catch up on news, game of the day, or to just relax in. Some records indicate the Stone Cottage pre-dates the Cabin, circa 1751, and was used as a residence while construction of the Cabin took place.

This cabin was so interesting to stay in because of its history. It was so clean, and we had everything we needed!! It was decorated really cute! The bed was comfortable, the upstairs bathroom was soooo nice!! Equally as nice as the cabin was the stone house and outdoor areas. We sat on the swing by the fire pit taking in the views! We even went to visit the actual fort in town. It was a great stay!!

We absolutely loved it. There is something pretty incredible about spending a few days in a home that has been standing since the 1770s, and the restoration manages to preserve that history without making you sacrifice anything. The cabin has so much character, from the original logs and stonework to the old floors and steep stairs. The separate stone cottage was a great bonus, and the outdoor area and views made the whole property feel peaceful and secluded. This isn’t just a place to sleep. Staying here is part of the experience. Beautifully restored, comfortable, quiet, and genuinely memorable. We will absolutely be back!

The property has a breathtaking view of the mountains, and clearly has been lovingly restored for modern needs. It was stocked sufficiently for a 5 person family with small children for the weekend. Selena was lovely. Kids room upstairs was fun with big TV and kids toys. Cute decor throughout for a wooded cabin. Loved playing cow hole and having so many places to hang- the stone porch and fire, the media room, the deck. It was a great summer place and we will definitely be back, hope we left all well. thank you!
