Newly renovated, two-story, canal-front ‘castle-like,’ private home with pool and spa is situated on Siesta Key within a block of the village and short walk to the beach. With five tastefully decorated bedrooms, four and a half baths, new quartz kitchen, and large new 1st fl living space.. plenty of space for the whole family. Whether you are poolside, or strolling on the crystal white sand, Castle on the Key provides the amenities you deserve during your island stay. We have recently added the 2nd bedroom suite with king bed and sitting room with futon. All new pics of reno in Feb.

This house is only a block from the center of the village and very convenient to several beaches. You can stroll to a variety of restaurants, boutiques specialty shops, grocery store with prepared foods and nightlife. Guests can enjoy the natural beauty of Siesta on foot, kayak, Rental bikes available in the village. Visitors also enjoy nearby Sarasota for world class marinas, art galleries, theater, and recreational amenities. Also your family’s amusement park or disney trip is only two hours drive. Outside you will enjoy the 30 X 14 pool, spa, and brick terrace sundeck. There is also a mini-castle in the rear for pool stuff- next to the canal, we have a 20 ft dock. We have a gas Blackstone. grill and outdoor shower near the pool. We have a nice varieties of palm trees and tropical landscaping as well as our Mango and Banyan tree near the water.
NOTE: Our home is located in a residential neighborhood with full time residents. We rent to families ONLY and our home is not a party location. We observe strict quiet hours of 10 pm on weekdays and 11 pm weekends. Pool hours are the same so there is no swimming allowed after those hours. Any outside noise is prohibited. and will not be tolerated. These rules are strictly enforced and if authorities are notified, guests will be warned once and removed from property as necessary to maintain neighborhood quiet hours. NO EXCEPTIONS

Siesta Key Castle

The location of this property is perfect for walking to all the action on the Main Street. The home has everything you need to enjoy your stay. There is too much to do for only one week!

Wonderful Place

This is a perfect place to stay on Siesta Key. The space is great, the pool is great, all the beach and canal items (especially kayaks) were great. The location is fantastic. Easy walk to the food market, shops, and dining. Two beach accesses are walkable. Easy walk to the free shuttle service that takes you to any of the beaches on the key. The property's decor is what I would call a bit eclectic and my contractor friend might call some of the setup "unfinished" but to me the property was exactly what it needed to be down to the train table for little kids. Our kids (5-12yo) loved the foosball and the pool the most.

Siesta Castle

We had a wonderful vacation at the castle house. Location was perfect, house was large and set up nicely for our family. Pool area was great, lots of room for the kids. Will look at this place again for our next Siesta trip.

Easy walk to Siesta Key Village

This property was very conveniently located to the Village. Our family enjoyed the lovely pool area and float toys. The home is dated but adequate for my family. It doesn't appear as clean as it could be because of it's age. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes pots and pans etc.

Great location plenty of space

Location was great! Close to downtown Siesta Key, super easy walk. Close to the beach. Tons of beach chairs, beach toys, wagon, coolers and umbrellas for the beach, which was very nice. We had 2 teenagers 5 adults. Everyone had their own room plenty of bathrooms. The blender was broken and Don brought us a new one the next day. He was very responsive. I also had to buy some frying pans and a part for the grill which Don paid me for. I did recommend to him that he talk to his cleaning people. When we got there the kitchen was dirty lots of ants, lots of dust, the couch was dirty and I don’t think anyone ever cleaned under the furniture. There was a lot of crumbs which brought on the ants. After I cleaned the kitchen a few times the kitchen was much better, but we dealt with ants in the living room. It’s not all on Don and his cleaners. You can tell when other renters don’t clean up after themselves. But when you own a vacation home you need to be ready to deal with that and clean up after them.

The perfect family vacation

This is the second summer we've stayed at Castle on the Key and it's become our favorite vacation spot. We love that we can walk to the village easily, take the kayaks out for a spin on the canal, and access the beaches with a short drive or walk. We plan to come back over and over.

The castle on the key is perfectly located for walks to the beach and village. There is tons of space for large groups and an amazing private pool.

Family vacation June 2023

The house fit our entire family of 12, with plenty of bathrooms and beds. the Pool was so nice and the kids loved fishing off the boat dock out back. We even had access to Kayaks for the older Boys to enjoy. The house was clean and neat with Plenty of towels for everyone. Very close walk to the village and the Neighborhood was very nice and quiet. communication from Don the owner was great! I read the other reviews and I don't believe they are accurate to this property.

Great Vacation

This unique castle house was perfect for our group of 12 people mostly 18 year old high school seniors and 2 sets of parents. Everyone had a bed to sleep in and plenty of space, 5 bathrooms was more than enough ! The master suite was excellent. The pool was fabulous and having kayaks to take out on the canal was fun for all. The house is right down the street from the village and the beach so you could pretty much walk or bike to anything you needed. Great space Great pool Great location The owner Don was easy to work with. One negative thing: If you are looking at the house the neighbors to the right did not like any noise past 10:00, no splashing, no talking, nothing fun, you would think they would be smarter than to build a home next to a large rental house suited for entertaining right ? Anyway, good luck with them.

Perfect Location and so much room

I brought 7 teenagers down on Spring Break. My kids and friends. It was a great space as they all could have private rooms and pretty much bathrooms as well. It’s a perfect location- the market is just down the street for any groceries and forgotten items. And that’s the start of town as well. Walk to the beach was like 5-6 blocks. Just wonderful! And Don was great to work with.

Avoid this owner and house

Where to begin? First, the property was advertised as 3/12-19 which we contracted for. After all arrangements (including flights) were made, owner came back and said dates were incorrect and should have been 3/11-18. I attempted to contact owner via email and phone several times to address his error but we were ignored. Went to VRBO but all you did was offer money back. By then no other properties available and we'd all have to take a hit on plane tix etc. VRBO was essentially useless in this situation....renters assume all the risk, there is virtually no penalty to owner. If we had cancelled, he would have immediately re-rented. So we swallowed our pride and spent the money to rebook everything Only good thing about the house was the location, otherwise it is a deferred maintenance nightmare with mold, the primary couch which was nothing short of disgusting, rats running up and down gutter along rear wall of house, most floatation items for pool were torn and unusable, most cushions outside also disgusting. A/C thermostat was locked so house was stuffy most of the time. Avoid this irresponsive and irresponsible owner at all costs!

Castle is like home away from home

We have stayed at the Castle over multiple years. The owner has updated the property consistently over that time. Just like any home, there is always a to-do on the list, but it fits our family perfectly. It is not a glitzy place but is comfortable and cozy. Top it off with a great location with easy walking distance to the beach and Village.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!

This property was absolutely disgusting. I had read a review stating that it needed a deep clean and had messaged the owner directly about making sure it was super clean before our stay. Don assured me in writing that he had a deep clean done the month before. The place was so filthy that our grandson (1) was unable to even get out of a play pen. He doesn’t walk yet. We had mold in all the vents upstairs. The showers weren’t clean and one smelled horribly. The toilets were not clean. The outside pool area had trash around it. The pool and sauna had to be filled every day. The sliding doors going to the pool were absolutely disgusting. We contacted the owner and he actually came to the property. He saw every single item in person. Our yearly vacation was so much more expensive than it should have been because we couldn’t cook in that kitchen. We cleaned it and bought our own pans and pots so we could cook in clean pots. Linens are not sanitized as we were responsible for washing our own sheets as we left. Just throw them in the wash. How is this even allowed? How do guests know the linens were actually washed with any detergent? Disgusting. I am very disappointed in this property and the owner. I have pictures of every single one of these items I will certainly share them if asked.

Great!!!

Beautiful home with great pool, walking distance to the village and a short drive to the beach unless if you want to ride bikes. We really enjoyed our stay. The home oner was very nice and was quick to reply with any questions we had.

Stay at the Castle

We had a great stay at the castle! It was conveniently located! Close to town and the beach. Had a fantastic pool and a canal right in back. We were able to fish right off the dock and enjoyed using the kayaks! Overall, we had an excellent family vacation!

Location was perfect

The house was in a great location. The price was great plenty of room. Two sets of washers and dryers. House was big enough for all of us. Don the host was great to work with. I think he needs to check up on the people cleaning for him. Not horrible but not great

Great location, plenty of room

Great location, plenty of room.. although the main living quarters and bedrooms appear tidy, the house could use an overall deep cleaning. The garage and the storage area next to the pool had many great items for us to use. For example a beach wagon, chairs, pool accessories but unfortunately everything is just kind of thrown into the garage and storage area. Very messy and no organization whatsoever. None of this truly affected our enjoyment of the property but we were all just surprised at the lack of Organization of the items .Boards on the balconies and the dock are definitely in need of an upgrade. Friends and I had a great time in siesta key and overall were very pleased with the location, the space, and the pool at this rental. .2 mile walk to the beach, close to shops, bars, restaurants and grocery store-all walking distance.

Couples Retreat

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the castle! The outdoor pool area and canal was amazing! Nice sized tables inside and out for meals and card games. Don was great to work with! Only a 10 minute walk (tops) to the Village and a few minutes more to the beach. Anywhere farther was an easy ride on a golf cart or the trolley. Great vacation!
