It is a very comfortable, fun cabin with so much to do right at the cabin including the sights and sounds of the North Fork of the New River. Just 8-10 miles away is great shopping and dining, just like you experienced in West Jefferson. We hope you will visit Mountain Lair again soon!

Yes the walking trail down to the river is a decline down and provides a great spot for fishing, tubing or just enjoying the river frontage. We hope you are able to come enjoy the cabin again. Thanks for taking time to leave feedback. Yes the driveway is a gravel declined driveway with 2 switchbacks. They are easily negotiated with all wheel drive or front wheel drive. The river frontage can change depending on the river's water height. It is well described as a walking trail down to the river. It is great for fishing or tubing. Glad you enjoyed the cabin and your stay. We hope to serve you again!

We are so glad we were able to host you at Mountain Lair, this cabin is so special and has such great views from virtually anywhere! Unfortunately the river deck was washed away from hurricane Helene, thank you for reminding us and we have removed that from our pictures and description (it was a fantastic amenity and we hope to have a new one built back soon).
