House is a great location to beach access and very close to stores for quick pick ups. We have stayed multiple times and it is one of our favorite locations. Outdoor space is private and works great for quiet evenings at home. Place is very pet friendly and the host is responsive to any needs.

It was a nice place. The living room, dining room, kitchen area was very roomy and comfortable. It was very close to the beach. We had a great time.

We have stayed here a few times now but unfortunately this is our last time. They really need to invest in the property. The bikes are gone, the same broken beach umbrella from two years ago is still there, the beach chairs are too rusty to use and half of the pool chaises are broken. The pans are Teflon and too scratched up to use. It’s sad because it’s on our favorite street and it seems like all the other houses are being bought up and taken down for new builds.

Awesome house. I am not the kind of person who'll nitpick little details. I understand there are cleaning people, a pool service. Sometimes the owners should know major issues. The pool for our visit wasn't as clean as I was expecting. Lots of debris on bottom, and green on sides. But it did not stop our love of this property. Sometimes things happen. Great location. Tons of stuff within walking distance. Will definitely book again.

Great place to stay!

The great escape is a great place to stay! Very clean and organized and plenty of room. The house is perfect for a family with 3 bedrooms and a pool and we loved it! Walking distance to the beach and a short drive to plenty of great restaurants and stores!

Very nice and close to beach! Loved the open concept to the rear yard!

Loved the property and layout. Do wish the pool was a little bigger for the amount of people staying but the kids enjoyed tremendously! Would definitely stay again!

Summer Relaxation

We enjoyed our stay here. The location is great for being close to stores, the mall, and the beach. Quiet neighborhood. We came here a long time ago and enjoyed returning.

I thought long and hard about whether to write this review, but given the price and the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I felt future guests should know about our experience.The positives: great location, an easy 5–7 minute walk to the beach, a nice backyard/pool area, and a clean, comfortable living area.Unfortunately, the bathrooms need serious attention and renovation. The fixtures were extremely dated, there was mold throughout the shower and black hair that wasn't ours. I wore flip-flops in the shower. When we arrived, I actually pulled up the listing again because I couldn't believe I had booked a property with bathrooms in this condition. The pics are strategically taken. We also found a dead roach, heavy dust above ceiling fans and fixtures, water stains on furniture, trash in the backyard and broken glass on the deck. The chaise lounges were falling apart, cushions had holes, and beach chairs were old and rusty. There were also holes in the back fence that allowed stray cats into the yard.Supplies were surprisingly minimal: one roll of cheap toilet paper per bathroom, no shampoo/shower soap, no laundry detergent and one dishwasher pod.On our last day, a golf cart for the next guests was delivered early and blocked most of our driveway without notice.The property has potential, but at this price I expected much better cleanliness, maintenance and attention to detail. I was genuinely surprised our experience differed so much from the excellent reviews.

Destin Get Away

Perfect size home with everything you need in a quiet neighborhood close to the beach. Any questions or concerns, the property manager was easily accessible. Close to the grocery store, shopping, and restaurants. We will definitely make this our vacation destination.

The Great Escape is wonderful!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Great Escape! The house was very spacious and cleaned very well. We loved the pool in the backyard. It was close to town, but also not too far from the beach. We would love to come back one day!

Family getaway

The property was a perfect size for our family with elder adults.. also being able to allow our 2 dogs was amazing. The pool and yard was perfect size. Neighborhood was quite and not busy which made it fanatic. Would definitely stay here again.

Very clean house and close to the beach

We had a wonderful time. The house was close enough to the beach for us to walk. When the beach was full we drove down to the state park. Very close to food places and shopping. The kids loved the pool and were in it nonstop.

Great Escape is great!

Love the layout, can see the pool easily from inside the house. Pool clean and warm. Managers extremely prompt for small issues. Quickly resolved the same day. Very happy with our two week stay!
