LOCATION / LOCATION / LOCATION !!!

The house is located at the West end of the Island where it is less crowded and more private. If you want a wide, clean, pristine, peaceful beach that gives your family space, away from the crowds at high tide, then you are going to LOVE staying at this location in Holden Beach!!! Also, there is little traffic on the main road at this end of the Island, so it is more peaceful and more quiet at night.

• NO CHARGE for 'HOST FEE': Unlike the majority of Homeowners, we do NOT charge this ($150 to $450) fee! (Not to be confused with VRBO Fee)

CHANGES IN 2024 SEASON:
The 2024 Season had (12) 10-star reviews and there were none less than a 10-star.
In 2021 we had (10) out of our (11) reviews were 5-STAR reviews!
Unfortunately, 2023 Season was an off year for us.
With my wife’s cancer, I acknowledge that the house was not to its typical standard the last two Seasons...mostly due to a bad cleaning company.
So a lot of changes, improvements and upgrades were made for the 2024 season.
1. Most importantly the cleaning company has been replaced with an amazing new cleaning company (a family business). We have already had a very positive response.
2. Bathrooms have been updated (see photos).
3. Brand new, large refrigerator for 2024 (see photo)
4. All walls repainted or touched up.
5. Other miscellaneous updates throughout the house.
All photos are recent so what everything you see in the photos is exactly what you get when you arrive.

Give your family memories of a vacation on the ocean in this peaceful, relaxing and charming coastal seaside cottage. Nice wide beach, even at high tide, unlike other areas on NC Islands due to erosion!

WALKWAY TO THE BEACH: There are absolutely 'no steps' on the 'Walkway to the Beach'...this makes it a safer walk for the young children and the elderly. The only steps are the 5 steps from the main deck (covered) off the house down to the Sun-Deck... before the walkway starts.
• Maximum Occupancy: (8). (With no more than 6 Adults...over the age of 18).

• Badminton/Volleyball court of sand on the Oceanfront side of the house. (Badminton rackets & Volleyballs provided)

AMAZING BEACH at this particular ideal location! There is Nothing like this area of beach on Holden Beach…there is about a one-half mile section on Holden Beach where the Beach is wide and plenty of beach (sand) at high tide! Everything East of our stretch of beach has very little sitting area on the beach at high tide. Everything West of this stretch of beach is a VERY long walk from the house to the sand.

Our host Don was fantastic. He had reached out to me the week before our stay to make sure that I didn’t have any questions. He went through the check-in process and I felt very comfortable with all of the information that I was getting from him. The whole process was very smooth.

We enjoyed the beach house with all its amenities and so much space for the 5 of us. This was our first trip to Holden Beach and this house and we hope to be back for our next family vacation. The house was very clean inside and out. The community area is very laid back and quiet. And the beach itself was clean with very few people visiting. The owner keeps in contact and gives clear instructions for check in and how they would like their home taken care of.

We had a nice week here and overall felt the house was a good value for an oceanfront property. The beds were comfortable, the bedrooms were nicely decorated, and we really appreciated all the little conveniences like plenty of hangers, laundry hampers, kitchen supplies and the outdoor shower. The TV was nice and sounded great with the added speaker, and we especially enjoyed the privacy of the back porch and being able to hear the ocean.The private boardwalk to the beach was a big plus. Just a heads-up for future guests that at the end of the boardwalk you do have to cross a soft-sand dune with some tall grass, so it may be difficult for elderly guests or anyone with mobility limitations, especially while carrying beach gear. There is a beach cart available, which is helpful.The house is older and does show its age in some areas, but everything we needed worked and we slept comfortably. The AC had a little trouble keeping up with the August heat during the evening, but it eventually cooled down overnight.Coffee drinkers may also want to know that there is a Keurig and a small 4-cup traditional coffee maker, so if your family drinks a lot of brewed coffee you may want to plan accordingly.The ocean view is just as pictured—you can see the ocean in the distance, although you can’t see the beach itself. We really enjoyed the privacy of the property and having our own beach access.Overall, we had a good vacation and appreciated having an affordable oceanfront vacay.

Perfect oceanfront getaway!

This home was super clean and super cozy with easy private access to the beach. We loved the spacious living area, huge front windows and porch, and especially the outdoor shower. Good stay and good memories!

Love this place

We have been coming here for several years now and we always enjoy our time here! The owner is easy to communicate with, takes care of the property. The house is clean and is maintained well. Everything is updated as needed and very comfortable. We cannot wait to return!

Great for us

The property was just the right size and set up for our family - 5 adults and 3 children age 8 - 10. The sun room was great for the kids. The house was well maintained. The rugs were a little dirty but the owner had rug cleaners set up to come in as we were leaving. The owner was very responive to anh issues. We had a great time

About the owner: Our family has been spending summer vacations on the East Coast since the very early 1900's when our Great Grandfather took my Grandfather as a boy down to the barrier Islands off the Eastern seaboard. Sadly, as much as all the older generations LOVED the shore, they were never able to afford to buy a house there. My Grandfather had the opportunity to 'buy' a lot on an Island for $200 in the early 1900's, but in his own words; 'that was too much money' back then...he couldn't afford it...he grew up in the great depression. We need to remind ourselves that we are a very blessed generation to have been able to finally buy a Beach House. It still took a lot of sacrifices and it is not easy, but we know it brings a lot of joy to a lot of people...not just us. We have a young 'special-needs' boy, and there is no greater feeling than watching his face when he is at the Beach! We are sure this will bring many fond memories to your Children... if you can simply put down the cell phone, computer and remote while you are here and just enjoy being with your family at the Ocean!

Why the Owner Chose Holden Beach, NC, USA:
Our Father loved boating and the Ocean. He wanted to buy a house on the NC Coast and retire there. My parents had visited and traveled the entire East coast over their lifetime. But they fell in love with the North Carolina Coast. They had just started taking trips there to determine which Island they wanted to buy on. Sadly, two weeks later after making his last trip there, he passed away...at the young age of 54. In 2003, after years of just thinking about it, I decided I wanted to purchase a house on the NC Coast...a place where I could re-live a lot of the memories my Father had given us on the coast. I started taking trips to every Island and every town up and down the NC Coast. Upon doing so, there was no question that Holden Beach really caught my eye. 'In my eyes'... it was the most natural, most peaceful, pristine Island of all of them (other than the National Seashore areas which of course you cant build on). There is no commercialism, no condominiums, no signs, no over-building, no crowds...just quiet, natural barrier Island in all its natural beauty. It has pristine beaches with very clean, warm water. When the Realtor gave me the keys to the house for sale before I purchased it, I sat on the Oceanfront deck for over 4 hours before I brought her keys back...I simply didn't want to leave!
The Ocean is fairly shallow and clean. The architecture on the Island is a mix of sandcastles, medium-size houses with very pretty architecture and small, older cottages. There is maritime foliage and a sidewalk/bike path that runs almost the entire length of the Island to take it all in. The beauty of the West end is how quiet it is...very few cars.
Just off the island as you come off the bridge onto the mainland is where the stores are...a very nice Grocery Store (Food Lion), Walgreens Drugstore, Restaurants/Dining of all sorts, Ice cream stands, a water-slide park, miniature golf, gift shops, gas station and more.
