This 4-bedroom, sleeps-10 river cottage in rural Upshur County, WV was fully renovated in 2022 — two primary suites, expanded river deck, outdoor dining for ten, canoe included. Rated 9.8 out of 10 across 174 guest reviews. Fish, float, ride, then stargaze at Jamsey Straits, Indian Camp, and Big Ben dChurch. The real West Virginia, no apologies.

We are reachable by cell phone throughout your stay and we have local caretakers in case you need help with something at the house.

This rural area of Upshur County is truly unique. From the dynamic river, to the beautiful mountain vistas, it is a place where you can recharge physically and mentally.

This is a rental for the full house. Make yourself at home and use all of the amenities including the canoe.

Our house is about 20 minutes from Buckhannon. There is plenty of parking for your car, RV or toy hauler.

Bring your ATVs, bicycles, fishing gear and hiking shoes. The outdoor possibilities are endless.
Due to extreme allergies, this house is completely animal free. We cannot have animals of any kind in this house.

This is an absolutely beautiful home and can’t wait to come back. We were in for a wedding and didn’t get to spend a lot of time there but have already been planning a return visit to enjoy the property! Highly recommend!!

We were visiting friends for the weekend and found this house perfect for us. Very spacious and accommodating for the short visit we had. Plenty of clean towels and linen.We had to call upon arrival to get the updated code and the host picked up on the first try and got us in.

Beautiful place and fully stocked with whatever you need to cookk with. Love the house and so peaceful and quiet! Was nice to relax for 5 daysin such a nice place.

This house was very, very well stocked. The quality of pots, pans, well, basically everything in the kitchen was 10/10.High quality appliances. Deck was so nice with plenty of quality chairs, table, etc. I've stayed in many rentals that provide cheap and over-used furnishings, so this house was a refreshing change. This house was perfect for our family.

Great Secluded Spot

Beautiful newly renovated with all the kitchen items anyone would ever need. Plenty of towels and linens. Beautiful scenery on the river. Plenty of room to lounge. Beds were very comfortable. Would definitely go back again. The place looks brand new.

Gorgeous house in secluded location

Really nice house exactly as described. Beautiful deck overlooking the river with osprey and eagles soaring around. Everything was comfortable and just as described. It was a bit of a drive to get back to “civilization” but really nothing was out of reach. Loved our stay and would come back if the opportunity presents itself!

We are not sure what rated the 3 star review. As you can see, Carolyn said the house was very clean. We tried contacting her to see if there were any issues we could resolve and did not get a response. Please rely on our nearly 100% 5 star ratings.

Beautiful country and great place

We were very impressed with hoise and thrilled with the beautiful back country setting. House is clean and everything works. Great porch for outdoor dining and water to play in not to mention we want to come again and bring our 4 wheeler. Great experience!

Wonderful weekend in West Virginia

The home was updated and clean. The fishing was great. The scenery was very pretty. It's off the beaten path and the neighbors are a little intimidating, but they were as kind and welcoming as the property owners. I highly recommend this home for an off the grid getaway.
