The hiking, mountain biking and rafting are great in the Salida area now. Or sit on our gigantic deck and enjoy the Mountain View.
Beer more your thing?: The Sunflower Cottage is located within just a few blocks of SoulCraft Brewery or Tres Litros so after you walk along the river, have a brew and relax and enjoy the Salida scene.
If you live in the Denver area, you should skip the I-70 traffic fiasco and come to Chaffee County for a more realistic Colorado old-time experience.
A rare combination of vintage Victorian and modern amenities in a cottage setting. Perfect House to visit for those who want to enjoy the Heart of the Rockies, Salida.Wi-Fi included. Due to the antique furniture nature of the property, it is not recommended for rambunctious children. Short-term rental license number 0344.
This 120 year old home has been entirely remodeled with attentive care to re-use the original molding where possible. The two-bedrooms sleep six. The upstairs bath includes a claw foot tub and shower combination. The lower bathroom, down a flight of stairs has a shower, sink and toilet only. The kitchen was re-modeled in 2006 as we popped the top to make the ceilings 10 feet tall. It includes a customer handmade, wood topped island. New carpet in 2014 and 2024. Corner Lot. Huge deck in the back yard to sprawl out on and sit under the elm tree. Beautifully landscaped corner lot. Laundry facilities on-site.

This was probably my favorite house I’ve ever rented. It was in a great location with walking access to downtown and everything we wanted to do. It was very comfortable and has great outdoor areas for sitting. I will definitely go back whenever I go to Salida.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Sunflower Cottage! The house is very clean and comfortable. It has been very well taken care of and is just darling! Only a few blocks to the downtown area, where you can shop, eat or take a walk along the Arkansas river. We would definitely come back for another visit :)!

The minute my husband, pup and I walked into your cottage in Salida, we felt at home. You provided all of the amenities that we needed for our 3 night stay. Your home was located centrally to everything, store, river, gas, entertainment and restaurants. The beds were comfortable, the back porch was amazing for an evening drink and the front porch - just amazing. We met the most wonderful people walking the neighborhood and sitting on the front porch drinking our coffee. We also met a few deer that came by for a surprise visit. Thank you so much for making our visit one of the best ever. Until the next time, our best to the owners.

This is the third time we've stayed here at the Sunflower Cottage and it never disappoints in its overall comfort and spaciousness.

Great Location & Property
I loved this place! It was clean & comfortable in a prime location near downtown Salida. I will definitely recommend this property to friends and stay here again.

A charming home within walking distance of downtown and a quick bike ride from anywhere, yet in such a quiet neighborhood we could sleep with the windows open. Our dog loved the grassy backyard and we loved playing dominos out on the deck. As noted by others, there is no central air conditioner. Despite the rather warm days (for mid-May!), the house cooled off quickly at night. So fun to pretend we lived there.

Great Salida getaway
Beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bath historic house, very clean and great back deck with fenced in backyard. It’s in walking distance of downtown on a quiet street.

Doug and Leanna are Colorado Natives who fell in love with Salida and wish to share the beauty, charm and pace this gem has to offer. We love to ride downtown on bikes and go out for a glass of wine, eat at a great local restaurant and listen to a local band. Riding "duckies" down the river is a blast!

We invested in this property because we respect the style and grace of older homes, transom windows. The original parlor and 8" mouldings are very appealing to us.
