Alyeska Resort and Chugash Powder Guides ski week

The living room was perfect for hanging out by the fire and watching ski films after a day on the mountains. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook in for breakfast, lunch or dinner if desired. We had three guests and easily could have fit two more with the additional bunk bed and pull out bed in the living room. The house is located a couple minute drive from Alaska ski base which was exactly what we could ask for. The neighborhood has the small town and camp setting feel. I highly recommend this house for a ski trip with a few friends.

Great house and convenient location to Alyeska!

Overall a great stay at this property. Everything we needed was provided and we enjoyed the cozy feeling being surrounded by mountains. The views from both of the larger bedrooms were great with huge windows.

Relaxing in Alaska

Our family had a great time exploring the Girdwood area and relaxing by the fire place at night. The house was perfect for our family of four and the northern lights definitely did not disappoint.

Amazing chalet get away

Loved everything about our stay in this amazing home. The open layout of the downstairs was great for family interaction, and the privacy of the upstairs bedrooms afforded quiet time when needed (great for naps!). Close to world class skiing, and amazing opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, I would definitely stay again at this fantastic cabin in the woods. Thank you for helping my family make some wonderful Christmas memories this year!

Birthday celebration.

Perfect for two couples celebrating 40th birthdays. It was close to the mountain, restaurants and town. Property was well-equipped with everything you needed for a stay. The hot tub was wonderful too. Thanks again!

Super cool chalet !

Great end to our summer Alaska adventure! Plenty of space for everyone, comfortable beds and clean bathrooms, The hot tub was incredible after long days & the house was well appointed with everything you need for a short or extended day. The fireplace, with fire log provided, was wonderful on the evening we stayed in for dinner. Clear instructions from the property manager made our stay and check in/out a breeze. Highly recommend!!!

Family trip

Home was very easy to find. Girdwood is a lovely town fairly close to everthing we wanted to do. The house was cozy and welcoming and had everything we needed. Beds were so comfy and we all slept great. Very quiet neighborhood. We all loved it!

Fantastic property

We loved this place. The hot tub was great after long days of hiking. The master bedroom has two story windows that look up to the mountain - the view is incredible. Everything was clean and worked well. The whole house was well stocked. Out of the 4 VRBO’s we stayed in during our Alaska trip, this was definitely our favorite.

Great Location

The house was perfect for our family vacation in Alaska. We spent time in Girdwood, Anchorage and Seward. It was perfectly located to do all three. The home was comfortable and very clean. Communication was perfect. We really enjoyed our stay.

Phenomenal Place to Stay - Near Anchorage & Kenai Peninsula

My family of 5 had a phenomenal time in this Chalet in Girdwood! We greatly enjoyed the hot tub after long days of exploring Girdwood and the Kenai Peninsula. Beds and other furniture were comfy! Having a washer & dryer turned out to be ideal. The decor was on point for Alaska - I love the totem pole in family room & maps of Aleyska Ski Resort and surrounding areas! We had a fun time and definitely recommend staying here.

Excellent location and beautiful chalet

We loved our stay! Honestly I can't find anything we didn't enjoy. Chalet in Girdwood is a great location for anything you may be traveling to and private from neighbors. Home is clean and rustic with most you would ever need in the full kitchen. Not having a primary bathroom in the bedroom isn't the most convenient but it wouldn't detour us from booking again. book this chalet you wont be sorry.

Lovely property that requires TLC

The property with its rough wood was a real dust trap and requires a deep clean. There are missing bulbs in fixtures that were easily accessible from top bunk and there are disconnected and missing smoke detectors. A few of the rugs were worn and no longer stable on the floors at entry doors; not safe for children nor seniors. Missing cabinet knobs are just a nuisance. It’s a lovely place, very unique and charming, I am being honest because I feel the owner should be aware of the properties condition in order to make the unit safe for the residents. It’s a pet peeve, I know but for Alaska summer, it really needs blackout window treatments. Thank you it is lovely charming home.

Girdwood relaxation

We had a wonderful and restful few days here following a fishing trip in western Alaska. The hot tub was perfect and our son really enjoyed staying in the “treehouse” room. Girdwood is just as charming as I remember it from the first time I came here in 1997. House was great, beds comfortable, amenities just as expected. Thank you!

Great treehoise ski chalet

Great house close to the ski hill. Well stocked kitchen and plenty of towels/linens. Very clean, beautiful windows.

Ski staycation

Great home away from home for XC and downhill skiing. Snug, quiet home and nice low traffic neighborhood. Wished for a few more coat hooks and ski rack/boot tray to dry things out or not keep them locked in the car overnight. Otherwise had most everything else needed for a fun get away from everyday life in Anchorage.

Unique place to stay!

The bed in the master bedroom was hands down the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. I want to buy that mattress! Kitchen is well equipped. The whole family enjoyed it.

Darren and Sarah Mattingley, two life long Alaskans who live in the beautiful resort town of Girdwood with their children and many pets. We like to collect unique properties and transform them into works of art.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

This property was originally built as a small cabin in the late 1960's and was remodeled and added on to in 1985. When we purchased it in 2014 we saw great potential for this property and loved the custom work that was done several years back so we continued on with the rustic theme and added another wing with an additional bedroom while updating the existing structure.

Girdwood is a small valley with limited land where the average lot size is about a quarter acre. This home is situated on a larger than average lot but what attracted us to this property was the treed lot and overall charm of the home.
