Surrounded by vineyards, open spaces and country roads leading to premium wineries, Shandon Oaks is a quiet retreat. The private cottage is located just over a mile from the Sonoma Plaza, home to the Mission, barracks, restaurants, cafes and tasting rooms. We are just as close to four of Sonoma’s most famous, historic wineries.

You'll enjoy outdoor garden seating under shady sycamores and oaks. Inside, the cottage is fitted with a kitchenette, home theatre with 65" screen, surround sound. Apple TV box with multiple streaming apps, including Xfinity, Netflix, Hulu, Prime, Paramount+, YouTube. WiFi averages 1.2 gigabyte download speeds.

All the creature comforts are included - fluffy towels, puffy comforter and high thread count sheets. Microwave, coffeemaker, kettle, toaster, small under-counter refrigerator with ice maker, coffee and teas are stocked for you. However, it is not a full kitchen. No stove or oven. Clawfoot tub with shower, not walk-in. NOT suitable for guests with mobility issues.

The cottage was clean, cute, and nicely decorated. The host was very accommodating and our stay was perfect. Beautiful to sit outside in the beautiful yard. I would highly recommend staying here and a great location.

Great location for exploring both Sonoma and Napa County vineyards and historic sites. Loved sitting outside with coffee in the morning —- what a beautifully landscaped backyard and so quiet! Thanks Joe!!

Great location. Had everything needed. The bed is comfortable. The shower is in a ball foot tub so if mobility issues, that might be a problem.

Very nice guest house on a beautiful property on a quiet street. It was about 30 minute walk to the square, not bad, though some areas of the walk did not have sidewalks but the shoulders are wide. The shower is a little odd and I don't think I'd want to use it to wash long thick hair, but it's good for a general wash over r weekend. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect sized bungalow next to owner’s house. Wooded lot away from low traffic road behind security gate. Very quiet and private. Small kitchenette, nice private patio with three patio umbrellas and a table. Very convenient to Sonoma and Napa wineries. Tub with wrap-around curtain for showering. Large bedroom with comfortable King mattress.

The location is excellent and Joe was very accommodating. The place was clean and comfortable. The TV system and heated bathroom floors were a big plus. Outside spaces are cozy.

My sister and I had an excellent stay! Joe was extremely accommodating and friendly. Walking distance to Sonoma Square - very safe and beautiful area. Would stay here again.

Joe was very friendly and so were the pups! Perfect little spot to have as home base for wine country. Very comfortable size and a beautiful setting, and the gate on property felt like an extra layer of safety on a trip.

Great location and accommodations

Great location, stocked with tea, coffee, hair dryer and some toiletries. Joe and his adorable dog Fergus were very welcoming and also gave us privacy, despite the VRBO being a guesthouse on their property. Would definitely stay here again.

Cozy & charming getaway

Our stay was amazing. Loved the patio/garden and enjoyed a glass of wine outside. The house was decorated so beautifully. A very quiet neighborhood and a wonderful host.

Quiet, peaceful, suburban-country setting, filled with large lots, multiple trees and gardens, just outside the city limits on Sonoma's east side. Safe, walkable and bike-able neighborhood. It's only about a mile and a half away from the Plaza, grocery stores, restaurants and other services, but comfortably away from commercial areas. Sonoma's Best, a small market and wine shop, is only a half mile away. Four historic wineries are just over a mile away. Hundreds of other wineries and dozens of restaurants are a short drive away. Easy access to Napa Valley. The city of Napa is only about 20 minutes away.
