Adorable Block Island Cottage with Pond

(We DO NOT list this property on Craig’s List) The cottage is newly renovated. It has a nice deck with patio furniture for outdoor dining, sunbathing or enjoying the beautiful sunsets. You enter from the deck into an open living/kitchen/dining area. Lots of windows make this cottage sunny & airy. There is a fully equipped galley kitchen with stove, fridge,
microwave & coffee maker. There is a pull-out couch, tv, small table & chairs for dining. The bathroom is on this level & has a skylight & large tiled shower. The queen size bed is on the lower level with white tiled floors & 4 windows that provide plenty of light & air. There is a split unit that provides heat/air conditioningThis cottage is perfect for 2-3 people.
***New reservations for the following season are accepted beginning November 1. ***Weekly rentals are required during the summer season (late June thru early September). 2 nite minimum required off season.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful time at Karen’s cottage. The location was great and the grounds were peaceful. It was a perfect place for my husband, young daughter and I for a long weekend. We hope to come back again soon.

Great little spot on a great little island

I believe this was our 4th time staying here and we already booked for next year. Perfect spot for 2 people. Small but cozy. Very good location on the island. Close to The Oar. The deck is a nice spot to relax after a day at the beach or hiking trails.

Lovely little place to stay

We really enjoyed our stay at the Foc'sle cottage. It's well equipped, we found everything we needed in the kitchen. The cottage is optimally positioned on the property as well as perfectly located on the island. Not too far from town.

Another great stay!

This is my 3rd time staying here. Always Labor Day week. The cottage was great as always and I couldn't have asked for a better week.

Block island get away

Great location. Close to restaurants and water sports. Beautiful deck. Would be a bit tight if the weather wasn’t good, but we had a perfect summer stay!

Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway

Great little cottage with views of the pond and ocean from the deck. 10 minute bike ride to great beaches, restaurants and the center of town. Very simple, but has everything you need for a cozy stay.

Lovely property and owners. Only thing to note is not heated so may be a little chilly in fall. Can’t wait to return.

Cozy lovely cottage

The house was so cozy and cute! The views of the ponds front and back were so lovely. Nice privacy surrounding this cottage. Much nicer then just a hotel "room"!! A perfect location and everything we needed was there for a very comfortable stay. Karen was helpful with anything we needed!

Beautiful haven

The cottage is a dream! Beautiful location for a Restful vacation! Communication with Karen was easy and she was kind enough to let me move my reservation when life events came up. She also let us stow our bags at the house, and was overall so communicative and a lovely host. Don’t make our mistake though, and don’t forget your own towels and sheets! We cannot wait to be back to explore more.

Cozy and charming

Cute Cottage with distinctive touches. Loved the stone walled bedroom. The dehumidifier being on might be a problem for some but it muffled my snoring and allowed my wife to sleep better! Nicely stocked kitchen saved us a few bucks on eating out. Conveniently located near town but not too close to be overwhelmed with tourists. Great place to stay for the money on Block Island.

Great little cottage

We really enjoy this cottage. It’s perfect for a couple’s getaway. It’s just enough space for 2 or 3 and still allows for an affordable vacation to the Island which is rare these days. The surrounding property is beautiful. Good deer watching at night. The house has it quirks but that’s what we like about it. As long as you understand you’re not booking a 5 star hotel you’ll enjoy it too. I definitely recommend it.

Quiet & Cool

Cozy and with everything you might need. The pond is an under sold bonus. I had never been to the Eastern side beaches. There are several beaches that are a 5 min bike ride that you can have to yourself.

Block Island cottage

Nice cottage in good location; quiet, off the beaten path. Great porch for enjoying the pond and view of new harbor. Owner, Glenn, gave us apples from the property which was a lovely jester. I think they have had numerous guests without a lot of common sense because there are signs everywhere, like please have shower curtain in shower base. The cottage is rustic so expect that.

Tiny and easily fixable atributes

Very nice. Nice porch. Minimal water views. Slightly weird adaptation in a small place. We were looking for such a place. No dish washer. Down fall of visit was no internet access or TV reception. Owner attempted hardily to rectify issues but no resolution or offer to compensate. Needed 2 towels and had no soap.

Did not stay at property

This property was not what we expected. The basement bedroom is more or less a dungeon. The owners are literally 2 feet away from the cabin (aka shack). The "cabin" hadn't been cleaned by the time we arrived. We did not stay, would not come back to this property, and would not recommend.

Disappointed

My friend and I look forward to our annual mom's weekend away to beautiful Block Island and aren't picky about our lodging, but this place was disappointing. First off, it was quite dirty when we arrived. There were visible crumbs in the couch and a layer of dust over everything. The shower curtain liner had clearly not been replaced in a long time as it was quite moldy at the bottom. We told the owners and, to their credit, they cleaned it and replaced the curtain while we were out and were very apologetic. However, this little cottage was simply dingy, run down, and not worth the daily price, especially given it's significant distance from the main downtown area. It is also worth noting that it sits on the same property as the owners' home and another cottage they rent, so there was a lot of activity right outside and we didn't have the kind of privacy and solitude we expected. In conclusion...We absolutely adore BI, but we were disappointed in our lodging choice this time and will not be staying here again.

Cute & Clean

We had a great stay at this sweet little cottage. It was VERY clean and had a great view of the Great Salt Pond and a little pond in the backyard. There was a great little porch with comfy chairs. There were also beach chairs provided. The owners provided plenty of information and checked in with us during our short stay. So that was very nice! A few things to note, the internet barely worked. Which is fine for a nice relaxing weekend, but do not depend on it if you need it for whatever reason. The cottage does not come with sheets or towels! We were also told to bring paper towels and toilet paper. There was one roll of each provided. So really depends on the length of your stay if you'll need more than that. So pack accordingly. As for the location, we choose to walk our entire stay. It was definitely a little far. We did not mind too much because the weather was not too hot. If you aren't big on walking be sure to bring a bike or car. The taxi's from town were not too expensive when our feet needed a break. You can easily walk to the Oar or Dead Eye Dicks. There seemed to be a few other shops along that strip that weren't open or not yet open for the season. Definitely would recommend but want other renters to keep the sheets / towel / and distance in mind!

A cottage built for two

The location with the large pond was very picturesque and the pond is perfect for fishing in my opinion. The accommodations are large enough for a couple and the on demand hot water is more than adequate. The only down side was the well pump was rather loud and I prefer a gas grill rather than a charcoal grill for quick, eat in meals.
