The house sits on a beautiful 40 acre setting located just 5 minutes from downtown Mansfield, PA and less than 15 minutes from Historic Wellsboro, PA. The Carriage House which is a second story rental has beautiful views of protected wetlands where there are migrating Canadian Geese, thousands of croaking peepers, wild turkeys, deer and black bear. Sitting on the front porch, looking at the tranquil setting will feel like days gone by. There are many places to wonder and explore on the estate….

The adjacent Country House is located on the property and the 2 homes located near each other can both be reserved to accommodate large groups comfortably. The tranquil setting is wonderful for children…ideal for sitting around the campfire in Adirondack style seating, star gazing, roasting marshmallows, catching lightening bugs, grilling out, picnic lunches and enjoying time with family and friends while having all the wonderful things to do in Tioga County in your back yard. The Estate is a perfect location for a large family get-a-way, a reunion or a corporate retreat when you rent both homes for a total of 9 bedrooms.

2nd stay at the carriage house still A+

This is the second year I have rented the carriage house. It is a Beautiful place with hardwood floors and well decorated. The house was extremely clean and the communication with the owner was excellent. Highly recommend.

Extended Family Gathering

We rented both the Carriage House and the Country House for a family gathering. We had family members of all ages from 3 months to retirement age. It was great having the flexibility of 2 houses next to each other - one house ended up being early risers and the other not-so-early risers. The owners were attentive to our needs throughout the week and responded in a timely manner. We loved spending time at Hills Creek State Park, Colton Point State Park, and gathering around the fire pit at night and look at the amazing night sky. Great memories!

Family Reunion

Our stay was wonderful! Beautiful wildlife from deer to our morning visit’s with a black bear. At nights it was nature singing, birds singing and frogs croaking and of course the light show by lightning bugs. The property was well cared for and the house very nice and clean, The coffee pot stopped working one morning and was replaced that day. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Very beautiful setting

This home was very beautiful and we enjoyed a nice stay there. Everything was clean end it was spacious. One thing I would suggest is to let people know that in the carriage house where we stayed, there was a large flight of steps to climb to get in and out of it. While we didn’t have any trouble with it, I’m sure many other people could have issues with thus.

only if you like climbing stairs

This is a beautiful, clean and relaxing place, however, no place in the description did I see any mention of it being an upstairs rental. Do not stay here if you don't like going up and down a flight of stairs every time you need to go out of the house.

Quiet stay in the country

Covid relief getaway

Spending an extended period of time with family when the last year has been so restricted, was a treat. My sister had a birthday we got to celebrate. Our nephew was on leave from the Navy and we got to see him. Got to see our other nephew who we hadn't seen since 2017. Our daughter was able to come over for the weekend. Great accommodation. Great food. Excellent weather and family. What more can you ask for? Definitely will try this again.

Nice Thanksgiving getaway

My family and our dog stayed here over Thanksgiving and we really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. We hiked Pine Creek Canyon, then came home and ate our Thanksgiving meal. It was so nice to get away during this pandemic. My dog loved walking along the fields in the early morning; she didn’t want to go back inside!

quiet corner to relax after day of hiking and biking

My 4 sisters and I wanted to explore the area, particularly the Grand Canyon of PA (Pine Creek Trail), and found this place. it is a comfortable and quite place to relax in before and after our outings each day. In addition to the couches, we could sit outside in Adirondack chairs - with or without a fire :-). They provided all the necessary kitchen equipment and TV/Internet connections, and starter supplies for normal consumables (paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, soaps...) -- be sure to bring or buy there (Walmart and Weis are not far).

Perfect remote vacation

We stayed their property as a family vacation with our two babies. House was exceptionally cleaned and we loved shoes-free living spaceS. High chair and pack-n-play are equipped for the babies. We had no problem communicating with the hosts before and during our stay. We really enjoyed staying there and hope to come back soon.

Perfect getaway

This beautiful home was spacious and well-equipped with everything we needed. It was in a very private location but was also close to attractions. We had a small issue with the code on the door, but the owners were wonderful about helping us out and resolving it immediately. We would definitely stay here again.

We opened our home as a vacation rental in 2009. We moved to another home and decided to turn it into a vacation rental rather than sell the property. My husband and I both own other businesses in downtown Wellsboro, PA. I am the owner of The Fifth Season, a women's boutique and home furnishings store. (Stop by and visit the store, especially if you love the design style and decor in the homes.) My husband is a partner in a telecommunications company called Indigo Wireless. We are very active in our community and are often found working on one of our many charity or philanthropic ventures.We are the proud parents of 4 children. 2 older boys one who lives in Scottsbluff NE and one who will soon be graduating from University of Pittsburgh. We have 2 young girls, one who is 4 and one who is 7 who love attending Montessori and doing dance and gymnastics and performing in shows.

My husband purchased the property in 1997 and raised his 2 older sons in the Country House. They were animal lovers and had a Noah's ark of rescued animals living on the property which is perfectly conducive to many animals with the large open pastures and nostalgic renovated red roofed barn. There are still 2 donkeys that live on the property. (called Peter and Buckwheat) He built the Carriage House in 2004 where he had offices for his business in a Feng Shui design. We converted the house from an office/relaxation space to a Vacation Rental in 2006 when my husband and I met. We decided we needed to live in Wellsboro to be closer to our other businesses. Rather than sell the home we decided to turn it into a vacation rental and share the beautiful setting with others.
