My husband and I enjoyed the cabin and location to everything. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing, biking and visiting the local downtown shops/restaurants in Wellsboro. The cabin has everything you need and was very clean! The floors creak but that didn’t both us. Plenty of yard space for our small dog to enjoy.

Had a great stay at the property. The cabin/house and property is beautiful. It is secluded but also not far from everything. I would highly recommend staying here.

Really nice cabin on huge property. Lots of wildlife. Many state parks and scenic views within a 30 min drive. Wellsboro very close. Lots of good restaurants. House had wraparound deck and good campfire area. Outdoor covered eating area too. Host is super nice and accommodating. Tons of stars on a clear night.

The cabin more than we expected! When entering it’s like going back in time. The gardens were magical! Cleanliness- Excellent. Marianne was a great host , explained everything to us. Kitchen great everything we needed in the cabin was provided! We went zip lining,golfing, tubing, horseback riding and then county fair. Couldn’t ask for more!

Had a wonderful Christmas getaway at the cabin! The host was extremely helpful and responsive. We were snowed in the whole week but the cabin was lovely and it made for a perfect trip! Would return!

The cabin was cozy, wonderfully decorated for the holidays, clean,well organized and the best host ever! There was not one thing this property lacked. My family had a wonderful 7 day stay here. We explored the area and had dinner at some wonderful places. We will definitely look forward to another stay. The only sad part of our stay was when we had to leave this wonderful cabin .

Great property... Great location... The outdoor area was amazing. Some minor issues in house. Didn't bother my party but something to consider if important to you. 1. Floors were loud so if you need absolute quiet, this could be a problem. 2. No central air. There were 2 window units in bedroom but none in living areas. That said, it wasn't needed while I was there. A very great place to stay overall.

Beautiful, clean house

Enjoyed our stay here with friends for Dickens Weekend. The house had all the amenities we needed and was just a short drive into Wellsboro.

Beautiful log home

This was our 2nd stay. Beautiful property with Marianne making sure everything is perfect!! Very quiet and private. We love this home!!

Cabin and property were beautiful. Met/exceeded our expectations. Hostess was great, very attentive. Within short drive to Pine Creek Rail Trail heads and downtown restaurants. Highly recommend.

The cabin was beautiful, clean, and spacious. There was plenty of room to relax. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms were large. The outdoor area had a large campfire spot and a gazebo-covered dining area with fountains and a fan. The backyard was just magical at night! Cabin location was just right for us, too.

We had such a lovely, relaxing and restorative time at the cabin! Marianne was incredibly friendly, responsive and helpful with any questions or needs related to our stay. Most of our stay it was pretty cloudy at night but we were so glad that we got one super clear night....A highlight was coming back from Cherry Springs State Park at 230 am to just as brilliant of a night sky from our porch! It was quite magical to take it all in. Our week was a great mix of just chilling out, watching World Cup games, playing Dungeons and Dragons, cooking (and eating) or reading and playing music on the porch. We also ventured out to bike Pine Creek Gorge, walk the trails on the rim and make stops along the PA Scooped Ice Cream Trail. Downtown Wellsboro was quite charming and convenient to access as was Stony Fork and the Mennonite shop! We had wanted to visit the PA Wilds for several years and this was a perfect home base to do so with our two teens and small dog! Thank you!

Cabin Stay

We enjoyed staying at the cabin! It was clean, quiet, and conveniently located a short distance from historic Wellsboro. The owners also provided updated suggestions on local hiking trails, which makes the cabin a great place to stay for anyone wanting to enjoy the PA Grand Canyon. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed staying at the Mountain House. Marianne was a great host. Peaceful surroundings and comfy beds. Close to the Pine Creek Trail. What more could you ask for?

Wonderful Place to Stay

Great location to enjoy the quietness of the woods. Well equipped home. Very clean. The beds were very comfortable. Marianne was accessible and helpful throughout our trip. Many close by attractions to enjoy.

Peaceful, scenic getaway!

We had a wonderful weekend getaway at this property. Everything was as described, and the owner was extremely helpful and responsive leading up to and during our stay. Excellent proximity to hiking trails and vistas with beautiful views of the PA grand canyon. A quick drive to the town of Wellsboro, with some great restaurants and shops. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again soon!

The property was very well maintained inside and out. The photos were not deceiving. Inside was well furnished with plenty of room. The outside had deck and porch all around the house, with fire pit and an outside eating area with covering, and more.

I love the outdoors in the Summer! I really enjoy Landscaping and Interior Decorating/Design! When we moved here, there were no flower gardens, and most of our yard now was not yard then!
I have had the pleasure landscaping the yard/gardens and decorating the interior to the ultimate charm that it has.
I would enjoy 'sharing' our home with you!

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

Hubby owns a business downstate near where we both grew up and would often need a 'get-away'. He always enjoyed Wellsboro, Blackwell, Slate Run area. (He still belongs to a camp in the Blackwell area.) He purchased this property because it was secluded but still near Wellsboro. Tucked away on a mountain, but is still only minutes away (from Wellsboro). We had a house fire in 2001, which seemed like a nightmare, lost nearly everything. Our quaint log home was gone. Devastated, but knew we had to rebuild. I designed this home to have as few walls as necessary. (Fire, burns down walls) This is the reason we have the open floor plan on the 1st floor and only 2 (but) large bedrooms on the 2nd floor.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

When we decided to move 'north', I had a few stipulations! I don't like poison ivy, and am scared to death of poisonous snakes and mountains usually have both of them! There was another stipulation...a nearby hospital, which I had to frequent too often. (I won't get into that now.) All 3 of my stipulations were granted me. We have never seen any poison ivy nor poisonous snakes on our mountain and have a nearby hospital! What more could I wish for???
