A beautifully appointed family run 4 bedroom and bathroom (3 ensuite) holiday cottage enjoying stunning views out over the Kyles of Bute. A 5 minute walk to the local pub and village store and with golf ( almost literally) on your doorstep. A great base whether you're looking for the great outdoors or just looking to get away from it all. Large kitchen diner, two living rooms and a generous garden.

We spent time here for a very big Birthday and it was just perfect. There were 8 of us plus a 4 year old and 2 daytime visitors who were staying nearby. There was plenty of room for us all with two living rooms and a huge dine-in kitchen. The room upstairs was perfect for my birthday party and the views were just stunning. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need and there is an extra fridge freezer in the utility room that let us store everything we needed to feed ten people. The beds are really comfortable and the entire house was really clean. Adrian was the perfect host, communication was prompt and informative and he even called on our 2nd day to make sure everything was as we hoped. On our first night we had a take out meal from Fyne Raja which was absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend. There are so many fabulous walks right on your doorstep but sadly the Biblical rain we had kept us mostly in the house. There’s a great general store just a few minutes away which has all the basics and there are several places to eat out nearby. We had a fabulous long weekend and can’t recommend highly enough.

Absolutely PERFECT, and I say this having rented accommodation on Cowal over the last 4 years. Clean, spacious, and had literally every single thing we needed and then some. Owners super helpful. Location is gorgeous. Very pet friendly. Kitchen has everything you’d need. Highly recommended. Only wish the telly had streaming but that’s not essential.

Had a great week at the aFour WindsA beautiful and well equipped house with the added bonus of sports barn annex and a dog friendly garden.Even with 6 adults, one baby and our pup there was plenty of room.The views from the top lounge were fantastic.A really relaxing week and the host was great to deal with

****Three adults, three kids, three Labradors, zero regrets****Three adults, three kids and three Labradors all needing entertaining, and somehow everyone left Four Winds happy, even the grown-ups.The house is extremely well appointed: airy, spotless, and sleeps 8 across 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (no queue for the loo, a first for us). The top-floor lounge is the star, with Velux Cabrio windows giving coastal views from the sofa.The secure garden meant dogs and kids could roam without a headcount every five minutes. The huge adjoining barn/games room was a lifesaver for supervised kids' play (West Coast weather being what it is) and handy for keeping the dogs comfy in crates or behind a folding partition.The track to the golf course starts at your doorstep, so you get traffic-free dog walks with no car needed. The slow cooker was the unsung hero: load it up, head out, come back to dinner waiting. The closest we'll get to room service.Free, fast broadband kept screen-time negotiations civil (bring a Fire Stick). There's outdoor seating and a barbecue, and the Kames Hotel is a 10-minute walk even on little legs, with a great bar and restaurant.Adrian, the owner, was super helpful, with perfect detailed instructions and advice.We'll definitely be back. The Labradors have already voted.

Thhe house was exactly as described, in a very quiet location right by the golf course with suoerb views out over the Kyles of Bute. At 1.3 miles to the village centre it is an easy walk. The house is very well equipped with everything anyone could possibly want, excellent kitchen facilities, lots of space and comfortable beds. The location is perfect for dogs, with paths and forest tracks leading from right outside the door. We were a family of 8 with one dog and had a wonderful 3 night stay.

Everything even better than described and the pictures. Adrian was very helpful in the run up to and during our stay. House was lovely and warm with everyone provided to host a large group. Location is perfect with walks, shop and pubs within easy reach. Will be back.

A very well equipped holiday home with a barn area available for games and drying clothes, which was an useful addition. The owner was very helpful with information about the house and area and rang to ensure that the house was in good condition

Nice place for a vacation with bigger family/group

Very nice and remote place. The house is in a nice little village with a small shopping store and an award winnnig restaurant (Tide and Thyme). The kitchen in the house is well equipped, so that cooking for bigger groups is fun! We enjoyed our stay!

Our family had a fantastic time in a part of Scotland which was new to us.

New Year getaway

Ideal property for our group of seven and dogs. Very well equipped with great views from the upstairs lounge. Easy walk into the village centre.

Fabulous place

Delightful cottage in beautiful setting. Very comfortable with a lovely feel to the house. Great kitchen. We were party of 8 and had plenty of room without the house feeling overly big. Had the best mussels and fresh fish delivery from Fynest Fish and wonderful walks. Very much recommend Glenan Bay woodland walks (by Portavadie) and Kilfinan community woodland (at Tighnabruich).

Relaxing break

My mother was 92yrs old whilst we stayed & relaxed at the beautiful Four Winds property in Kames, we all agreed it was perfect and we would like to return, thanks x

Perfect location

Great location, fantastic views, we absolutely loved upstairs, had the perfect meal at tide & thyme , also the takeaway was awesome , local shops well stocked, so being far from a supermarket wasn't a problem, took a ferry to tarbert, which was a great day out, weather was perfect, all in all fabulous, Thank you Adrian for phoning to make sure all was OK, brilliant hosts

Just perfect!

The most amazing holiday property. Stunning location and the property itself was spotless and so very well equipped - above and beyond expectations. Host Adrian communicated faultlessly with us before and during our stay to check everything was ok. Would recommend this property in a heartbeat!

Perfect getaway

Lovely property. Child and dog friendly. Has everything you would possibly need. Lovely neighbours. Garden secure for dog which was ideal and also lovely walks around the village

Christmas family holiday

We had an amazing time at Fourwinds the house is thee most well equipped house we have ever stayed in. Instructions from the host were spot on and nothing was an issue. The house is cosy,clean and very spacious. Great situation for walks . We will definitely be back.

A perfect stay

This is a fantastic property. So well located for all that the Cowan peninsula has to offer (lots), and such a great property. It really is ‘home from home’, probably the best we have stayed in in terms of being so well equipped. Whilst there were only two of us staying, it is such a vast property that you could easily fit 2 families in and not feel squashed.it is so warm and cosy and just has a lovely feel to it. We couldn’t recommend this place highly enough; the owners clearly care about their guests and want you to love it as much as they do.

Kirsty’s Birthday!

A nice comfortable house, well equipped in a beautiful location. The view from the upper lounge was wonderful and the outside Barn was a great diversion for our two boys. We were all sorry to leave.
