This is the ideal place to stay for a visit to the beautiful Woodstock area of Vermont. The accommodations were comfortable, exactly as advertised and so clean. Everything we needed was provided and our fabulous hosts – Doreen and Joe – even brought over an extra heater as the weather turned chilly. They provided wonderful tips and directions to nearby restaurants we wouldn't have found otherwise, as well as to attractions that were well worth the effort to get there. Most importantly, although this place is in Barnard, VT, it is just a short drive and very convenient to Woodstock without all the traffic! Be sure to enjoy the Barnard General Store – it's worth the trip! I give this place the highest rating possible!

Perfect VT getaway

Doreen's cabin is picture perfect. Our stay was very comfortable and Doreen was very accommodating. We enjoyed the close proximity to Silver Lake and the General Store. We would definitely book again!

Fantastic stay for a couple. Cabin is immaculate, great location in Barnard, just a few minutes to Silver Lake, General Store, or Woodstock. The owner is super nice and helpful. We would return in a heartbeat.

Doreen’s cabin was cozy, comfortable and had everything we needed. Short distance to Silver Lake and the Barnard Country Store plus close to ample hiking trails. We enjoyed sitting outside in the evening under the stars. We will return!

Quaint cottage

We had a lovely stay at the cottage…clean, well appointed, quaint and cozy… great fireplace to relax in front of at night. Perfect size for one person or a couple.

A cozy getaway!

We had the best time staying in this adorable cabin. Doreen was an amazing host. The cabin is spotless and had everything we needed. So much to do in the area! We can’t wait to visit again in the future.

Special Cabin at Silver Lake

This is a special spot: well appointed and equipped, private and quiet while close enough to easily tour larger towns such as Woodstock. Doreen greeted me, provided a very helpful overview and suggestions; her hospitality was exceptional.

Fantastic stay!

Wonderful cabin with all the amenities. Super comfy and cozy with fire pit outside, fire burning chimney, tv, bathroom and kitchen. Centrally located in the state for all sorts of adventures. We would definitely recommend this cabin as it gives you the opportunity to experience small town Vermont.

Gorgeous cabin, gracious host!

We loved our stay in Barnard. Doreen was so kind and helpful in getting us set up when we arrived, then gave us our space. We loved the beautiful cabin, the surrounding wildlife, and the town, and we took advantage of the quaint (and well-stocked) general store and its fabulous bulletin board. We can’t wait to stay again!

Peaceful setting

Comfortable, charming cottage that had everything needed for a relaxing mini vacation. We enjoyed the fire pit outside in the early evening, only to enjoy the beautiful fireplace inside later. The location was in great proximity to many things to do and visit. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

You had the perfect weather to enjoy the indoor and outdoor fires! You'll be interested to know that a moose was seen in town shortly after you left. Maybe you will have better luck next time!

Cozy cabin in the woods

Cozy cabin in a gorgeous location. Doreen was super nice. Cabin was very clean and well equipped. We will be back.

A Thing of Beauty

The owner exudes a genuine warm welcome and the place is uniquely Vermont. Our Sunday to Monday stay was perfect with awesome weather and just one day of heavy rain.

Beautiful Barnard Retreat

Doreen was perfect host, helpful and generous. Cabin is lovely and perfect for 1 person or a couple. Very close to Barnard town center and a short drive to Bethel or Woodstock. The cabin is quiet and ideal. Highly recommended !!!

Peaceful getaway

I stayed here for a couple of days after a business trip up in Burlington. I used it as a base for hiking, biking, and kayaking in nearby Silver Lake. The small space is very efficiently and comfortably arranged. Doreen was a great host and gave me good recommendations for places to go, and even loaned her kayak to me! I also enjoyed the outside sitting area at night, the stars were incredible.

Relaxing

Wonderful atmosphere. Quiet, Comfortable, Cozy. The stone fireplace surrounded by knotty pine boards. Beautiful clear sky at night with the Milky Way arching overhead. The leaves of the apple trees falling in the light breeze. A very peaceful setting.

Perfect cabin for a relaxing weekend

I can't speak highly enough of Doreen. She warmly greeted us the second we arrived and gave us a tour. She's so friendly and she had stocked the cabin with everything we could have needed. She even added flowers and a happy anniversary sign since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and she printed out a map for a hike she suggested. I loved how the cabin is decorated and it was the perfect spot to explore Vermont. I would highly recommend staying here.

Perfectly comfortable cabin vacation

We stayed at this rental for 2 nights to get away from from the big city and enjoy some peace and relaxation. This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. The place was exceptionally cleaned, and came with many luxuries not common to a cabin such as shower, TV, and kitchen. The rental is a short drive from the town of Woodstock which has anything a person might need, and nearby to outdoor activities. Doreen was a great host, she is a friendly person who made us feel right at home. Would return again if in the area, 5 STARS

A perfectly done respite for the soul!

Everything was perfect for my stay, even the weather! Doreen takes obvious pride in this lovely gem of a space. Nothing is left undone. Simply done, yet attention to every detail. It is a tranquil, serene cabin surrounded by trees and nature’s beauty. I will absolutely be back, not just to Vermont, but to this perfect piece of it!!
