Sweeping Mt. Baker and sunrise views abound in this spacious, comfortable home on a double lot with your own private beach.

Deck dining that leads to a large, private yard. You have everything you need -- a grill, table and chairs, and a hammock. The yard is great for kids. Step down the stairs, where you will find a hidden, rocky beach with tide pools, accessible at both low and high tides. The beach is clean and fresh, and is a wonderful place to watch the ferry and take in the sky and mountains. Lummi is for relaxing!

Three bedrooms have ample space for your family, extended family, or friends. The bathroom has a steam room to help you unwind. The home offers an open kitchen, large dining table, and a comfy living room with a wall of windows that look onto the water. The large-screen TV is Chromecast-ready.

If you need to venture out, you will be within walking distance to the library, the Beach Store Cafe, the playground, and the Islander Store. The house is all yours and our on-island manager is available via text and phone for any of your needs!

Great fall getaway

We so enjoyed the beach house! We watched alpenglow on Mount Baker every evening around the fire pit. Kitchen was well stocked, and the children’s book selection was great!

Quiet island getaway

My husband, teenage daughter and I all enjoyed the peace and quiet, playing in the tide pools on the beach, and the beautiful views. The ferry to and from the island was extremely affordable and reliable, making this a perfect place to relax after a busy day of sight-seeing.

Peaceful beach retreat

We really enjoyed staying at this home with our small children. Having its own beach really made all the difference. The house is comfortable and has all your needs. The views and being in nature made it so peaceful. We really enjoyed our time on Lummi and the memories that were made.

Lovely stay

We came up for the Artist weekend and we’re not disappointed. The accommodations were comfortable and the views amazing. We would definitely recommend this place.

Short Family Vacation

The location of this property is perfect; view is beautiful, easy to bike and walk as there is very little traffic on Lummi, and a very nice little beach you have access to right out the back. If you are not fussy about high end accomodations, but rather want a quiet, relaxing place for peaceful recharge--this is your place. Very much like a place you would find in many small europen towns.

Family weekend

My kids and I loved coming in and having it feel like a real home we were visiting. I appreciated the well stocked kitchen and grill for cooking at home. We visited the Saturday market and enjoyed walking all over the island as well as playing on our private beach. The herons and bald eagles and deer were amazing to watch. Thanks for the much needed vacation.

Great Visit on the Beach

Wonderful location so close to the ferry, store and restaurant. I would just suggest a more comfortable mattress in the back bedroom with split beds. We are older though! Kids might not notice. Beautiful views and very easy to be there. Thank you!!

Perfect

This was the perfect retreat home on the water. Quiet and peaceful with super spacious interior. Unexpected extras like large gas grill and steam/shower room made our stay extra special. The family heritage and feel of the place made our stay homey and comfortable. One of the best VRBO experiences I’ve had.

Staying at this property was great, it was clean, great instructions for the stay and the home was beautiful. Stacy couldn't have been more helpful when we needed to extend our trip. All was as promised and definitely I will rent again when we need to return to Lummi .

good place for a family reunion

The house was as advertised, greatviews, large gathering space, well equipped kitchen. Parking was tight. Beach access was precarious but we had typical PNW weather so that didn't affect us much. Very good experience overall.

A lovely getaway!

We loved our time on Lummi Island in The Seal Beach House. We saw a lot of wildlife including bald eagles, seals, and deer. The private beach access was amazing— we spent a lot of time on the beach looking at shells, agate, and crabs. The home had what we needed and was very charming. I loved the family history! Only downside was the cleanliness of the home, but we made do. Thank you!

We enjoyed the location. We felt the seating in the dining area was not acceptable and very dirty.

The garden needs to be maintained with some weed whacking, especially around the entrance. Another 1/2 bath would be nice but we knew there was only 1 bath.. Nice location and great view.

nice escape from city life

We loved staying at the Seal House on Lummi Island. The house was exactly as described. We enjoyed the large yard and especially the beach excess during low tide. My son developed a slide obsession over finding crabs. :) Wildlife was to discover from sunrise to sunset. The neighborhood is super quiet and people are extremely friendly on the island. We do not know if that applies to summer weekends as we stayed from Monday to Friday. We would book this property again with no hesitation.

Well Loved Family Home on the Water

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this well loved family home. My husband, myself, and our 2 grandkids 11 & 9 spent our time using the telescope and binoculars to watch birds, boats, sea life in the water, and the mts. in the distance from the windows that span the entire length of the living area. The view of the mts. is awesome. During low tide, my grandson and I explored the waters edge from the ferry dock to Lane's Spit. The kitchen and large dining room table make cooking and serving meals a breeze with a grand view. Spacious bathroom and bedrooms. Easy to use ductless heater for chilly mornings. Very comfortable. Loved the grounds: great for horseshoes & corn hole. Lots to explore on the island: local beach, food trucks, library, restaurant, local farm, and arts/craft studios. We were sad to end our stay, but the Lewis family love we felt during our visit went with us. Thanks. Karen A

Awesome home, great location

The home is close to the ferry and a perfect location. It's right on the sound, so take a seat on the deck and enjoy. We loved watching the ferry coming and going all day long. We couldn't have asked for a better location for my birthday weekend. We even got a chance to support The Grange scholarship fund by walking down to a salmon plate fundraiser. We never turned on the TV the entire weekend! Nor did we get back in our car after coming over on the ferry. We walked everywhere. But, the inside of the house needs a bit of work. Chipped coffee cups, and plates. The bed pillows were flat and only two per bed. We asked for more, but there were none. and the sheets smelled like they sat wet in the dryer. There was mold in the shower corners. I know I'm a bit picky, so that's why the overall good review. Stacy was responsive by text and email, which I appreciated.

Nice Location

Overall our recent stay at this property was okay. Sitting in the large yard overlooking the water with Mt. Baker in the background allowed us to let all stress and worries melt away. The house has every household item you could think of and is in walking distance to the general store, the ferry and a restaurant. Additionally, the property owners were very receptive and pleasant. That said, there are some deficiencies that should be addressed. 1. The house has a nonenal smell and most of the windows in the house do not open. To get fresh air the patio door and the front door has to be left open. 2. The closets in the master bedroom and the third bedroom have mirrored closets that are sealed to the renter and that only the property owner can open. That is pretty creepy to say the least. 3. The grill is very old and needs replacement. 4. While there is beach access, the area is filled with lumps of seaweed and other debris. Not a bad place to stay, but the property needs a little work.

Beautiful, Scenic, Peaceful

Well equipped, relaxing 3 bdrm, 1 bath vacation property with unparalleled views of the water, ferry passage, inland properties, and Mt. Baker. Away from the frenetic pace, Lummi Island has a yesteryear pre-1990's San Juan Islands vibe. There is no need for advance ferry reservations. The vrbo home is conveniently located with walking distance of the island cafe (limited hours), the island grocery, and the ferry dock. If you are interested in a scenic, peaceful, walkable, off-mainland experience this is for you.

Anfitrión: Stacy Lewis

Our parents bought this home in 1994 as a place to retire, after living thirty-plus years in Southeast Alaska. The three of us kids — Nicolle, Stacy, and Ralph — were all born and raised in Ketchikan, Alaska. Two of us have been living in the Seattle area for over twenty years while the other is in the Bay Area.

When my parents decided to stay in Arizona full-time, they wanted us to have the house, as a legacy for their children and grandchildren. We have loved being part of Lummi Island life and want to share it with you!

We love how great this feels for our family. There's plenty of room to gather, and our kids love it too. We are even a short walk to the elementary school playground when we all want a change of scenery.
