Dive into the protected harbor for a refreshing swim, or make use of the rope swing and water slide. * Docks on the west side extend out and join together with a 20x20 foot gazebo over the water. Together they form your own private harbor. The gazebo is illuminated for night use.

Our favorite vacation every year

The property is very well maintained and in a great location on the lake. We have been going to Emery Point for almost 10 years now and we look forward to it more and more every year.

great spot for a large group

Emery point is a great spot for a large gathering. It is kid friendly, and the privacy of being the only house on the point allows you to relax and not worry about the neighbors.

It was amazing!

It was the perfect retreat for our group; great for those who wanted to play and for we who wanted to relax and enjoy the serenity of the property. Kitchen was awesome for several people to work at once, love the outdoor dining areas. The wraparound decks were perfect for any time of day or night. Loved the exterior lighting effects at night on the gazebo and covered decks!

Wonderful owners!

My husband and I have been married for almost 40 years. We have 4 children and 3 grandchildren. We have rented MANY vacation homes over time for our whole gang and I have never dealt with more helpful, accomodating, friendly owners anywhere! They have gone WAY above and beyond to make our vacation exactly what we wanted!!

This place has it all! Absolutely phenomenal!

Our family has been to Emery Point several times and we have decided there is no reason to even try to find something better. It doesn't exist. The property is beautiful.The house is incredible. And the owners are just wonderful! There is 15 of us ranging in age from 1 to 65. And every one of us has a wonderful time when we are there! You will not be disappointed if you book with the Emerys.

We love this place! Perfect for our large family!

We are a multi generation family of 15. The property is amazing. Here, we all have our own bedrooms and baths. The kitchen and dining area are large enough for all of us. We can spread out or come together whenever we want. We can swim, fish, go out on boats or kayaks, sit on the various decks, sit inside in several different areas, grill, cook, play games, build puzzles, feed the koi fish, watch TV, you name it. And the privacy on this beautiful point can't be beat. And to top it all off the owners are just wonderful to work with. We LOVE Emery Point!

Such a Beautiful Property

Emery Point is all you are looking for and more. Our group had all ages and this property had something for all of us. The kids and the adults loved the swimming harbor. Our girls play volleyball and enjoyed the net quite a few times. We roasted marshmallows at the fire ring quite a few times. I do suggest bringing fire wood with you as it’s a bit hard to find some close by. There is plenty of room between the two floors for your entire group. It was almost like we had two separate apartments. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals. The owner was very easy to communicate with and very generous with his property. We ended up renting a boat for two days so we could take the kids tubing, and it was very easy to navigate the lake. If you want to truly enjoy a great private space away from the hustle and bustle of life this is a great choice!

Spectacular!!!

A large group of us gathered at Emery Point for a surprise 60th birthday party. What a perfect place for such an event (or any event, for that matter). The lake view is surreal and the property is gorgeous, with wraparound decks, gazebos, a perfect lakeside fire pit, boat ramp, horseshoe pits, and plenty of green space. The house has plenty of common space for socializing and seven bedrooms - most with their own bath!! The kitchen consists of everything anyone would need to prepare a meal!! It's tough to imagine needing a bigger kitchen, but if you do, there is another full kitchen downstairs!! I cannot imagine a nicer piece of property on Lake Anna, nor can I imagine renting from nicer people!! The owners, Jim and Laura, were a pleasure to deal with and provided me with some great recommendations for the surprise party. Emery Point is truly an oasis. We have decided to make this a yearly tradition!!

Incredible Week at Emery Point

Extended family stayed at this waterfront lake resort 2nd week of August. Our first time to Lake Anna. Incredible 270 degree views of water all around. Lots of room to roam the grounds. I have never seen a house with decks that go around entire house on two levels. Also has 3rd level sky/star deck where I set up my telescope. Plenty of seating on inside and outside tables. Set up our laptops on the table in the great room. Has two full kitchens, 1 on the main level and 1 on the lower level. Has 3 refrigerators and 1 freezer. Plenty of silverware, dishes and every type of cup imaginable. Walked the grounds each morning with coffee in hand to the hidden gazebo garden where we fed the Koi fish swimming amidst the water lillys and two waterfall features. The kids played on the beach and swam in the water every day. They enjoyed going into the water from the dock slide and jumping off the 2nd level deck gazebo. We enjoyed using the 1 man and 2 man kayaks and stand up paddleboard. Didn't rent a boat, but used our SeaDoo around the lake and used it to tow inflatables. Kids enjoyed the playground and swings. Beautiful sunsets full of color each evening. Fished from the grounds near the firepit. Used the firepit for bonfires and roasting marshmellows. Watched movies under the stars on the star deck as well as out by the bonfire using portable screen and wifi projector connected to cell phone hotspot. Visited nearby Lake Anna Winery and Coyote Hole Cidery. Got groceries from Food Lion twice. Highly recommend if you are coming to Lake Anna.

Howdy, So happy you had a great vacation at Emery Point. It warms my heart to receive such glowing reviews. Such family reviews makes it all worth the effort. We've enjoyed receiving such wonderful comments for decades now. Some are from families whose kids still talk about their time at Emery Point years later. Kids who have played on our playground, have grown up and come back as adults sharing their memories with their kids. That is SPECIAL ! If only families could have seen what this Point looked like before we started making it what it is today. One person at the time we purchased the property said it was a run down dump. Extreme Erosion, junk piles everywhere, completely overgrown, fallen trees, and abandoned cars all over. We knew it would be a lot of work. They were correct but they didn't see it as a diamond in the rough. We started polishing this "diamond in the rough" back in 1990. It took 2 years just to build the 2,800 ft seawall. Then to sub-divide into four lots. Followed by paved driveway, boat ramps, gazebos, beach decks, pavilions, KOI ponds with water falls, sprinkler systems, pear trees lining the half mile long driveway. And soooooo much more. Now it's basically a landmark on Lake Anna. In fact it is on the Sate Map of Lake Anna. Complete with Emery Lane. We're very proud of what we accomplished and knowing there are thousands of terrific memories of Emery Point all over the country and perhaps beyond. Thanks Jim Emery

Beautiful water views!

Had a great stay. This is an older property with building additions. Outdoor amenities are awesome with boat dock, basketball, horseshoes, firepit, volleyball net, huge lawn, 2 gazebos (one with a Koi pond), playground and flagpole. There are repairs, upgrades and renovations needed but you can't beat the views & activities. Since you spend most of your time outside, the indoor quirks aren't too bad. You should be aware that two of the upstairs rooms have shower in the room with no wall/door so the bedroom becomes quite humid. If you like your showers before bed, I would select a different room. The longest indoor table has been coated with a laquer that is sticky so use place settings (not napkins). The furniture is well worn, especially in the upstairs living areas. There is a fireplace that is nonfunctional/decorative only. Kitchen amenities are more that sufficient with duplicates of almost everything. Jim is very easy to reach if you need anything. We visited during Thanksgiving but think that the summer would be the best time to enjoy this property to it's fullest.

Wonderful vacation

We had a wonderful time at Emery Point on Lake Anna. The house was spotless with ample room for all. The central air conditioning was a retreat from the sun. The living area was very welcoming for our large group. There many tables for large family dinners that can be prepared in the well equipped kitchen. The outdoor space was very private with a perfect fire pit which we enjoyed. Our week was filled with volleyball, swimming, bbq etc. We had an issue and it was fixed in minutes We highly recommend this vacation destination especially for a large group like ours Thanks Jim!! Bumpass 2019

This is a tremendous property, and our family had a wonderful time during our week there. Everything is oriented toward the outdoors, and we participated in swimming (including the water slide and rope swing), boating and tubing, kayaking, horseshoes, and feeding the coy. Jim has done an incredible job in designing and building this property, which may be the best site in the entire lake.

Great Property for Big Family with a lot of kids

Spent hours every day in our private lagoon floating around while kids jumped off docks and used the rope swing. The time out of the water was spent on the boat. Awesome Lake Vacation

Our wedding and stay at Emery Point

We had our wedding at Emery point on Saturday and stayed tbe rest of the week. I could not have chosen a better location it was simply amazing! The property itself is amazing and there is so much to do for the kid's too. The house is amazing also plenty of room for everyone and plenty of kitchen space for larger events! I would reccomend emery point to anyone wheather it's for a wedding family reunion or just a week getaway from life itself! The owner of this property Jim was absolutely amazing and helped me in so many ways to make our wedding everything we ever wanted and more! He is very easy to work with and takes pride in is home and once you get there is shows! I can't wait to go back!

Perfect family reunion

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for providing the perfect place for our annual Frazier Clan reunion. We had such a great time -More than GREAT ! ! ! Between the rope swing and swimming, all the water craft and fishing, s'mores at the camp fire and doing puzzles, and more, there was something for everyone. I think the early mornings together out on the deck were especially lovely. It was so peaceful to watch the birds and gaze upon the lake. The family that couldn't come with us this year really missed out on something very special. Now we're back home in various states - Minnesota, Rhode Island, Ohio, Massachusetts and Florida. The memories we made came with us and will always bring a smile! Wishing you and your family all that is good. PS. Fabulous Vacation

Extremely family oriented......something for everyone, young and old. Beautiful lake for swimming, boating or just sitting on the deck watching the sunrise over the water. Definitely would recommend Emery Point for your vacation get a way. Enjoyed the week so much we are going back!

We Found "Emmy"

In August, we held out annual family reunion at Emery Point. For a week, we felt like we had our own private island. Lazy days were spent playing in Lake Anna and taking in the panoramic view from the one of the sun decks. The slide and "Tarzan Swing" off the dock were a big hit with the younger generation. Big cookouts at dinnertime were followed by a sunset countdown and late night star-gazing from the roof deck. The owner, Jim Emery went beyond the call of duty in more ways than one. For example, my 11 year old daughter fell in love with a stray kitten that wandered onto the property. We named her "Emmy" and I foolishly promised to adopt the cat. On the morning we left, Emmy was nowhere to be found and we had to leave without her. My daughter cried all the way home. In an act of desperation, I contacted Jim Emery, told him the story and asked if he knew anything about this cat. His response was to offer to try to trap Emmy himself when he returned in September. He also asked the new tenants to feed her in the interim and even offered to transport Emmy back to our house. How's that for hospitality? After countless text messages and several attempts, we retrieved Emmy who is now my daughter's best friend and a member of our family. Over the years we've had hundreds of unique stories and events but having a small part of the "Emmy" reunion is one of the best. Seeing the reunion of Emmy the kitten and your daughter was priceless. After a month or longer and your multiple trips down from the North East the Stars finally aligned. It was just meant to be. I believe Emmy won the lottery that day and is a very lucky to be in such a loving home. Go Emmy!

Emery point. Fantastic vacation get away!!

We've stayed at Emery Point twice a year for the past three years, once in Spring and again in the Fall. Our family is so grateful for this time together. It's now a tradition and each member agrees this is the right place for us. Previously we went to the Ocean but this privacy and so many things to do just outweighs the glitz of a boardwalk. Campfires, sunsets, jumping off the harbor gazebo are among our favorite activities there. We would not consider going anywhere else. Our family is growing and this property offers plenty of space for our growth. The Emery's are always accommodating so we rate them and the property a FIVE. Thank you. Best family vacation location ever!!!

Emery Point is so beautiful with so much to do!! Swimming, boating, fishing and many other activities! Spending a week in Emery Point was by far my favorite family vacation and I can't wait to go back!

A few years ago, the McDonald family decided to initiate a yearly family vacation. Our first location was North Myrtle Beach. It was great time. Being the matriarch of the group, I thought it would be fun to explore different settings; to experience something for everyone. We have stayed in the mountains Pennsylvania and Lake Norris in Tennessee prior to landing at Emery Point in Virginia. It is not easy to find accommodations for our tribe. Our ages for 2017 ranged from 75 years young to 2 years old. We require many bedrooms and bathrooms and a kitchen and dining area large enough for family meals. After spending 2017 at Emery Point, we came to a group conclusion that we needed to look no further for the perfect McDonald vacation spot! Emery Point has everything to meet our needs, and that is not easy! Emery Point has so much to entertain the family that we couldn’t get it all done during our week’s stay. The enclosed swim area was awesome for the little ones and those less adventurous. We had our own boat, water skis, tubes, and water boards; we rented kayaks. The kids spent hours on the water, many had their first ski lesson. The family member who requires wheelchair access and loves to fish was thrilled with the opportunities that Emery Point offered her. If you just wanted a little quiet time, there were plenty of spaces to retreat. The large porches, pavilion, gazebo, playground, decks and grounds were all utilized; with our large group, you sometimes need your space! If you have groceries, you never need to leave. Of course, we did find some great restaurants nearby. We did venture out to Lake Anna State Park to pan for gold, and there was some golfers in the group that visited some of the excellent golf courses. There are many places to explore within a short drive, but most chose to stay on our little paradise peninsula. I won’t say it was perfect, but close. Mr. Emery has been keeping us up to date on the improvements being made, and we are looking forward to our 2018 vacation at Emery Point.

Made a wish come true

Long story short, my 5 year old granddaughter was diagnosed with HLH and Leukemia and as she struggled for 6 weeks in the hospital, I asked if she had one wish what would that be? Her wish was to spend a week at the lake with all her family. Knowing that was no easy task at such short notice, I came upon Emery Point that would accommodate our big crew...ranging from 4 months to 85 years old. Jim was beyond understanding and accommodating our request and Emery Point exceeded our expectations. We spent a wonderful week together. The kids LOVED their little swimming spot inside the deck, they water skied and knee boarded (Yes, Hailey was well enough to also). On our last day, we had a "jumping Olympic contest" off the Gazebo. That was the kids favorite all week. Having the road paved allowed her to learn all over again how to ride her scooter, as well as all the grandkids LOVING to ride their scooters. The house was so large and everyone was so comfortable and ample space for 22 people. The highlight was we were there during the full eclipse and was able to snap a shot of the entire crew under the eclipse. We believe it was all in His timing because the darkness of her illness the past year is only a brief departure from the light. I can't thank Jim enough for making "A Wish Come True"!! There were huge smiles all week from all!!

I find it difficult to write a response without being teary eyed but am so happy our property fit your needs and her wish. Very special indeed. So much to do here but yest the GAZEBO jumping is always the top choice. I must remind families to bring their scooters . . sounds fun. I know you are going to Disney next so have fun and keep in touch. God Bless your family and especially be with Hailey.

Beautiful place for a retreat!

Perfect time of year to be here, it was gorgeous! Weather and water were both warm. Days were long and sunset and sunrises were the best. Enjoyed the outdoor firepit and loved the huge dining table on the deck. Well designed place for a large group of all ages, well-stocked kitchen.

Well thanks for your kind words. It is surprising just how warm the water is early June. I think it has to do with the depth of the water around the Point. It never freezes in the winter like the north end of the lake can do. Also, our swimming harbor is not real deep so the sun helps warm it up. Everyone is swimming even earlier on Memorial Day weekends so yes i agree on the nice water temps. Like you said you just can't beat facing the west across the water for the terrific sunsets. Extended Family Summer Vacation

Emery Point is an ideal location for an extended family vacation. The house comfortably sleeps 22 people. Our family (14 children & 8 adults) has rented for the last two summers and had an great experience. The house has plenty of open space to accommodate a large group to dine and relax together. The waterfront is undoubtedly the best feature of the property. Located on a peninsula, the house is surrounded by water on 3 sides which allows you to enjoy the morning sunrise and evening sunset. The dock is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the water. The rope swing is a huge hit with the kids. Our family looks forward to returning in 2018!

Such a pleasure knowing so many children will have such memories that will last a lifetime. While building the Gazebo i couldn't wait to finish so we could all jump off into the lake and after 20 plus years it's still exciting. We have friends who's kids jumped off and now they themselves return 15 year later with their kids. We love it! So glad we can share it with you.

2015 Reflection Retreat

We were looking for a quiet place in the beginning of the year to pray and reflect about the past year and set goals for the next year. Emery Point was the perfect place for our group this winter. The first thing we noticed was how many stars we could see in the clear night sky. What a peaceful and beautiful place. The big living rooms were great to gather in and there were also many places to go and sit and be alone to reflect. We loved this place. My group was able to enjoy the whole weekend but I had to rush back 2 hours away in the middle of the night since my wife was having a baby. It was about 2 weeks from the due date and we did not have a name picked out yet. Plus we did not know if the baby was a boy or girl. Early in the morning Emery Jane was born :) Her name will always remind us of your beautiful place, the crazy drive back home, and the great start to our new year!

Wow, What an honor to have a child named sharing our name Emery and our property at Emery Point, Lake Anna. We had to sit back for a minute when we heard the news. First being so happy for you and your new bundle of joy and then for the honor of naming after us. We built the property in early 80's and this is the warmest most thoughtful thing that we have experienced to date. So glad we can share our property with your Christian Group. The Emery family have owned Emery Point since 1989, and are only the second known owners of the property. Over the years, they transformed what was a dilapidated mid-century farmhouse into what is now a Lake Anna icon - the Emery Point peninsula.

We built our house with entertaining and our own family reunions in mind. Designing the decks with shelter from the sun and rain allows your family to enjoy outside deck activity no matter what the weather.
We built a seawall around to protect the property from storms. Then added a Gazebo, docks, and boat ramp to maximize a second to none waterfront view.
We are located at the South end of Lake Anna where there's less boat traffic, deeper, cleaner water, fantastic views and terrific sunsets.
It is a very peaceful property but still allows families to take full advantage of all water activities. For protected swimming we built a sheltered harbor so we could swim without worries of boats passing by too close. This property is truly a piece of Heaven on Earth.

There's so much to do on our property that it's hard to describe it all.
So many places to sit and relax, so many areas to have fun.
Did we mention our deck on the roof to star gaze with an unobstructed view?
You can bring one or several boats, sailboats, personal watercraft , pontoon boat or rent one from a local marina.
One comment we often hear is that parents can spend quality time with their children here. So much to do together without the distraction of boardwalks etc as in Ocean Beach Rentals. Here you get to enjoy all the boating, swimming, jumping off the Gazebo, use the kayaks, canoe, playing games both inside and out, rest in a hammock under a tree. Watch the shooting stars from our roof deck. We can play board games with your kids or grandkids. And then there is the fishing off the docks. You can all be together or have your space in one of the many sitting areas like the Koi Pond. Sit and listen to the waterfall, watch the fish and relax.
