Great Waterview location on Chincoteague Island overlooking the
Assateague Channel, the lighthouse and the marsh where the wild
ponies graze. Three large bedrooms and 2 baths.
Only 5 minutes to the beach or 3 minutes to town.
The bedding situation is as follows:
-Downstairs bedroom: queen
-Upstairs rear bedroom: queen
-Upstairs front bedroom: doublefull plus a set of twin bunks
-Additional queen futon in the downstairs greatroom.

Great host! Location and view of the light house were amazing. Little outdated but not a surprised as pictures posted are current. Nice screened in front porch, perfect for the beautiful evenings. Would not hesitate to use again in the future

Perfect location for the seafood fest!

Very quiet section of the island with great views of Assateague and the lighthouse. Also very close to Memorial Park and Tom’s Cove Park for access to the annual seafood fest!

Great trip

We enjoyed our stay at Waterside. Location was perfect and host was very responsive to questions. A great rental for a few friends and/or family.

Great for family

We came for the beach and blueberry festival! It was close enough to everything and also far enough away from the crowds. Loved the view of the lighthouse and the park

Such a great location. You can see the ponies with binoculars from the lovely screened porch.This was close enough to the park and restaurants but far enough for a nice quiet getaway.

Makes a great home base for a busy vacation

Plenty of room for my small family, my brother and his wife and infants, and my sister and her husband. Nice place, with a pretty view of the light house (kids loved watching it at night!) Close to all the activities we wanted to do.

Views from the front porch were amazing. Listening to the bird calls while being able to see wild ponies from the deck made it very relaxing. Communication with the host was fast and quick responses. Having the large yard allowed our dogs room to enjoy the house. Enough open space on first floor for the dog crates.

Beach Weekend

Wonderful weekend beach house. Very easy to get to the beach (10min tops) and down the street from the marina and bike rentals. Thoroughly enjoyed the view and the screened in porch! We talk about coming back to chincoteague next year!

Stay for Pony Crossing

Stayed just one night to be in a good location to walk to pony crossing vantage point. This worked perfectly. Less than a mile to the park and then another relatively short hike to spot where horses come ashore. The host granted us a delay in checkout so we could clean ourselves off and change before packing up and leaving. A little misunderstanding at checkin but host was VERY quick at settling the issue and was generous in giving us a refund for a service we had agreed to. Lighthouse view was wonderful. Great place to stay in Chincoteague

We appreciated the stay at this property. Jeffrey was a good communicator. Everything was described accurately. As other reviews mentioned, the home was very clean, and the view was excellent, and I is a nice quiet neighborhood overlooking the creek. An outdoor grill would’ve been a nice addition. We would recommend replacing the two overhead fans. Thankful for a nice visit!

The house accommodated all 6 of us and our dogs with plenty of space. There were plenty of supplies and the beds were comfortable. I very much appreciated that linens, blankets and towels were provided. The host was available when I had a question and helpful. The house needs some minor updates and I let the host know, but overall it was great for our family. We loved the screened porch. We could drink our morning coffee and see the ponies grazing with our binoculars without pesty flies or mosquitoes, along with a beautiful view of the lighthouse. It is a family friendly area, close to a huge beach, plenty of restaurants and a bike rental within walking distance. We also took the Wild Pony Tour with Captain Kirt and got up close to the ponies and even spotted dolphins! We would stay here again and highly recommend the boat tour too. We also visited the Wallops Flight Facility which has a great interactive visitor center and the Chincoteaque museum!

Relaxing Stay

My husband and I try to get to Chincoteague once each year in the winter. It is wonderfully quiet, and bird watching is phenomenal as the migrating snow geese and tundra swans come back. The house is showing its age and could use some love, but it had everything we needed for the weekend. It was pretty cold, and the heating was very efficient. We also cooked all our meals there, and everything worked well. If you do the same, be sure to check out Gary Howard Seafood. There is nothing like fresh-caught tuna! We were a little surprised to find the house located across the street from the channel given its name ("the Waterside") but that is on us for not reading the details. Jeff was very responsive and clearly wanted to ensure we had a great experience there. Kate, his on-island assistant, was also responsive, and gave us some good ideas on where we could watch the World Cup outside of our house. The house has strong, reliable wi-fi, which we needed for work.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

This house is on the quiet side of the island, but has a pristine view of Assateague Channel, the lighthouse and has high decks and a screened porch to take it all in. It also has a large yard and a lot of space between the houses, so it's not cluttered or crammed in like the Main Street side of the island. Very peaceful and the trolly will stop right in front of the house, just flag it down.
