Watercolor at Seaside!!

The Ward family's home away from no home in sunny WaterColor.

This 2800 sq ft 3 bedroom + bunk room / 4.5 bath home is located in Phase I of WaterColor directly behind Seaside and adjacent to the WaterColor tennis facility. It includes 3 large bedrooms with King size beds (plus daybed in Master), a bunk area that sleeps 6, teen lounge, spacious kitchen/great room on 1st floor, screened dining porch, and back porch.

High speed internet service is provided free of charge. There are 5 TV, DVDs, Original X-Box etc. Enjoy close proximity to the beach, 4 pools (2 are heated) , BeachClub, restaurants including the Fish out of Water Restaurant and Sushi Bar, a wine market/cafe, tennis (including 5 Har-Tru courts-court fees apply), and boutiques. A Publix grocery store is located on-site.

OUR CALENDAR IS KEPT UP TO DATE. Posted rates include WaterColor Beach Club wristbands. Please note that wristbands are required for all guests age 5 or older. A maximum of 10 access bands are available. The number supplied is based on the number of people in your reservation.

Wonderful Stay

We loved our stay here! Walking distance to beach, Beach Club, Camp Watercolor, and Seaside shopping. House is beautiful and large. Great amenities! The ice maker was a game changer! Ann was wonderful! Could not have been better!

Perfect cottage for family or friends

Wayward Sun is the perfect beach house getaway. Plenty of space for your group to relax. It is close to everything but nestled in the woods.The house had cozy bedding, as well after a fun day at the beach!

Great Experience!

Close to everything. Fun to ride bikes around. Great area and food, warm water and lots of pools. Adults, teens and kids all enjoyed it!

Favorite place!

We have been vacationing in Seaside/Watercolor the past five Summers, and this home is by far our favorite. The location can’t be beat, and the house is so clean and welcoming. Ann was so responsive and made sure everything was ready before we arrived. We will definitely be back

What a perfect home, from an amenity standpoint, everything you would want and more. Very cozy, and a perfect location. 5 minute walk to seaside square. Hope to stay there again.

Wonderful Oasis

This is a lovely property that is so serene and quiet. The home is absolutely first class and very comfortable. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out and convenient. Loved staying here and would definitely return. Immaculately kept!

Best condo in the Destin/30-A area!!

We’ve stayed in many condos in the area over the years, but this one was our favorite! The location is terrific! The condo itself is beautiful, and the owner, Ann, was very helpful throughout the process. So many extras, such as bicycles, dedicated icemaker, hooks in all the right places. There is even a library for renters to take a book and/or leave one. Also, there was plenty of hot water for when everybody wants to take a shower when getting home from the beach in the afternoon, unlike at some of the condos we stayed at in the past. I’m going to try to stay here again next year if possible!

Great Watercolor Property

Really enjoyed our stay at Wayward Sun. Location is perfect, right next to Watercolor & Seaside tennis, easy walk to Seaside town center and Watercolor beach club. Plenty of room at the house with multiple inside and outside seating areas. The kitchen was fantastic. Very well stocked with everything you could possibly need and a huge table. Ann was great and we will be staying here again.

Fall Break Getaway

We had the best few days at WayWard Sun! This was our first time in the Seaside/Watercolor area and we loved it so much! We had a little one in tow and couldn’t have asked for a better location. Steps to shopping, eating and the beach made it so easy for everyone to come and go as they pleased. The weather was beautiful the entire time and the house was perfect! We hope to visit again next Fall!

Fantastic home!

We loved every minute spent at this house. The location, in Watercolor but right behind Seaside, was ideal. The bikes were a great amenity. Anything we found ourselves looking for in the home was there. The decor was beachy-chic and beautiful. The adults and kids all loved this house and would definitely rent this place again. Lovely place, great location!

Wayward Sun is a lovely place and at a great location. It is close enough to the beach AND Seaside that it is walkable, but we enjoyed the bicycles that came with the house and rode our bikes everywhere. It was so convenient to just bring ourselves and our sunscreen and bike 4 minutes over to the Beach Club to pick up towels and go to our beach chairs/umbrella that we rented. Ann was a great hostess, very responsive to questions. Word of advice: definitely lock up the bicycles with the provided locks. Teenagers to just pick up random unlocked bikes and “borrow” them, they just leave them somewhere else. Next time we go to Watercolor we will be staying again at Wayward Sun!

Wonderful Rental

This was one of the best vacations my family and friends had in Seaside. We traveled with 4 adults, two toddlers, and an infant. The house had enough room for everyone to enjoy their time without feeling as if we were on top of each other! The property is perfectly located next to all the restuarants and the beach club was a nice perk. We were thankful Ann was so easy to work with, especially through the short term rental ban. The house is wonderful and in a great location for access to all the amenities and activities available at Watercolor and Seaside. The listing description and photos are accurate. The home is beautiful and functional. Everything was perfect. We traveled with another family and there was plenty of room for 2 families and a couple of extra friends. The porches really add to the living space. We would recommend this property. Also, we enjoyed picking up some seafood at Goatfeathers and dining at home. This house also has several bikes that were in good working condition and a super perk.

Amazing house and host!

We couldn't have asked for a better location, house or host. Every detail of the home was perfect and you could tell the host went to great measures to make sure of it. We've rented several houses in the past but never a place where it truly felt like a home and not a rental. The kitchen couldn't have been more well-stocked - it had everything we needed and more! There were extra pillows and blankets, chairs and a wagon to take to the beach, and a library of books. I could go on and on. The host, Ann, was a delight and handled any question we had cheerfully and promptly. It is the only property I've ever taken the time to review and was by far the best home we've ever stayed in. I'm already looking forward to our next stay here!

Spring Break 2023

We stayed her for Spring Break with 7 teen girls and 3 moms. Chose the house because of the location and the number of rooms. Each adult had her own master suite and shared the bathrooms with their daughters. There was also a powder bath and hallway bath. The teens slept in the bunk room and the teen lounge. The bedrooms were roomy and the beds were very comfortable. The size was perfect for us and we loved the roominess of the kitchen and family room. From the back porch we walked a path that led straight to the Seaside shops within a couple of minutes. We were also close to the Water Color Beach access and either walked or rode bikes to the beach. The landlord was easily reached by text with questions and luckily we did not have any problems while there. Highly recommend this house!

Perfect location, perfect beach house, perfect vacation!

My wife and I "hosted" 9 teenagers at this home for a week! The layout of this house is optimal for both large parties or several couples that want community space but still have their own "escape". It feels much bigger than it is with all living areas connected. The three master suites are very spacious and the kids loved the bunk room and teen lounge area. Perfect use of space for a beach house. Both Seaside and Watercolor tennis courts were out of site but only steps away. You can walk to the Seaside Chapel in less than 1 minute and are in heart of Seaside in 2 minutes. Kids rode bikes (owner provided 9 bikes!!) all around both Watercolor and Seaside and even rode 12 mile to Rosemary Beach and 2 miles to Grayton Beach. We had access to the best of 30A beaches and kids had complete freedom to "roam". Owners were very responsive and genuinely concerned about ensuring our stay was perfect!

Watercolor Wonder!!

What a beautiful home for a week of relaxation! This was our first visit to Seaside/Watercolor and our friends (and housemates) 4th, and I can't imagine anything better! (This was our friends favorite house-they stayed in Seaside their prior visits.) From the bikes and stocked kitchen to the lovely furnishings and comfy beds--it was everything we imagined and more! (The Wards even provided paper towels, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, etc. and were very responsive with all questions before and during our stay) The house was open and spacious, yet cozy and all of the rooms were large. Even with 11 people staying in the house (and up to 7 more visiting for dinner), we never felt crowded or cramped. (All comfortably playing cards and games late into most every night at the wonderfully large farm table!) We LOVED the proximity to Seaside, as our teenagers and young adults (7 total) hung out there. It is literally out the back door and to the right about 30 steps! Our only complaint (which has nothing to do with the home or the Wards) is that we didn't care for the over-crowded Watercolor beach and pool; however, the Watercolor amenity cards allowed us access to complimentary beach towels, movie nights and concerts. (On different nights from the similar Seaside events!) So, if you want the luxury and exclusivity of Watercolor just steps away from Seaside, then you have found your next vacation rental!! Thank you, Ann and Bob, for sharing your Watercolor Wonder with us! Can't wait until next summer!

Great location, great house, great vibes, and the best owner

We've stayed at quite a few homes in Watercolor over the past few years, this house is now our favorite. While it may not be the biggest or newest, it has the best use of space and really gives a true beach house feel. The downstairs open floor plan was great to keep everyone in the conversation regardless if they were in the kitchen, sitting area, or living room. The porch was also our favorite with really nice outdoor furniture and a lot of seating space. We spent every morning drinking coffee on the porch in peace and quiet. The bunk area and kid lounge were a huge hit as we were 2 families with 6 kids. The kids all being able to sleep together really put the trip over the top and had them raving about the house. The screen back porch was also really nice for the kids as we brought a ping pong set and attached it to the outdoor table there. The kids spent most of the time at the house on that back porch which was nice for the adults. The location is truly great. The kids are 8 to 13 and love yolo boarding, the beach, and the camp district pool area. This house put us right in the middle of all of it. We were a quick bike ride to any of those amenities plus walking distance to Seaside which was great for dinner or shopping. Lastly, Ann was fantastic and did everything to accommodate us. We even had other guest bike over while we were outside to tell us they usually rent this house but were in her other property and raved about how great she is. Thank you Ann! Your home and willingness to work with us, truly made for one of our best Seaside / Watercolor trips we've taken. We will definitely look to rent from this owner and particularly this house in the future.
