Cozy mountain cottage right in town. Easy walk to downtown Main Street, only 4/10 of a mile. Neighborhood streets are great for hiking. Private setting surrounded by mountain laurels and rhododendrons. The home features open living area with vaulted ceilings, stone fireplace with gas logs and wood floors throughout. Almost all wood interior for a true mountain experience. The kitchen features sandstone counter tops with upscale appliances. A large screened porch is an added feature as a place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The single car garage is connected to the house by a breezeway.

Only 6 minute walk to downtown. Level lot with 1 step entry to house. Large Screen Porch to enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

Living Room features wood paneled, cathedral ceiling. The stone fireplace offers the convenience of gas logs. Dining area seats 6 and features all wood wall covering and a cathedral ceiling.

Kitchen has custom sandstone countertops and vaulted ceiling. Kitchen is well stocked with new servings and utensils.

Master suite features a quality king bed. Master bath includes travertine marble floors and shower, walk-in shower with frameless door and, vanity.

Bedroom #2 features 2 twins. All beddings are quality mattresses, new or near new. Bathroom #2 has wood floors and features tub/shower combo and vanity.

Washer/Dryer is off master bedroom.
Garage with remote is accessible by covered breezeway.

A charming cottage for a visit to Highlands

We really enjoyed our stay in the Mountain Laurel cottage. The cottage is so charming and the screened porch was a wonderful place to enjoy reading and relaxing with a feeling of being tucked in the woods, yet the house was conveniently located close to Highlands.

Convenient Cottage

We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, charming cottage near town. Private location nestled among tall trees with an abundance of song birds. The screened porch is a big plus.

Great Location Cool, Calm and Quite

We spent a few days in Highlands in September. We found the cabin extremely clean and organized. The screen porch was a perfect spot after a day around town. Less than three minutes from main street by car and the rain on the tin roof was an added value. We would stay again.

Wonderful Cottage

My mom and I spent a long weekend in this lovely cottage and could not have been happier with it. It was so clean and was equipped with anything you could possibly need. The screened porch is very nice and relaxing and the furniture is comfortable. The cottage is in a neighborhood but has a lot of privacy. The flowers outside and in the window box just added to the charm. I would love to come back here with my husband soon!

Cozy Cottage in the Woods!

What an incredible find!! First, the cottage was so well furnished and supplied ,plus having the fireplace, all elements combined for a great stay! The cottage has a beautiful, well furnished screen porch which due to weather, we were not able to enjoy, but the porch along with the entire property was neat and clean!! We also appreciated the enclosed garage with extra refrigerator/freezer! We walked to town to shop so the location is another asset!! The extras were the metal roof which is wonderful during two rainy nights and the strolling visit by a baby and mama black bears!! Needless to say, we remained safe inside the cottage!! My husband and I have enjoyed staying with VRBO owners for over 15 years and we always read the feedbacks. I hope this will satisfy any questions regarding your stay in the cottage of Bill and Teresa!!! We thank them for thinking of everything, even an umbrella!!!

Sweet, Close to Town, and Comfortable!

Enjoyed my 4 days at Mountain Laurel Cottage. While close, even walking distance to town, it is in a quiet neighborhood that is nice to walk around. The screened in porch had comfortable furniture and good lighting. The shower worked well as did all the other appliances. House rules and helps were clearly notated. The fridge is under counter but ample. I so appreciated the quiet at the end of a busy day.

Highlands, NC Cottage

Nice, comfy, quiet, and private cottage on the far edge of Highlands. Nicely furnished and equipped. We visited the town for our anniversary. Great town and area. Well documented info package— make sure to follow Bill’s directions when you get close, not Google maps!! Google will get you lost! My wife enjoyed the screened in porch for breakfast and relaxing. We’d stay here again if in the area.

Best Value in Highlands!

We stayed at the cottage during a family wedding weekend in the Highlands. It was super cute and clean, and had everything we needed. Our host was very clear and communicative and we really appreciated that. Definitely in the price range there's not anything else better. We'd highly recommend a stay here!

Perfect in every way!

The Mountain Laurel Cottage exceeded our expectations in every way! The entire property is lovely. The owner, Bill, contacted us upon arrival to make sure that our check in went smoothly. The house is clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed - it felt like home. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch and the wooded views from the windows. Also, the walk to town is indeed just minutes, plus there is a nearby trail you can take that ends in the downtown area if you want a longer, more scenic walk and some light exercise. We will definitely return to this property!

Awesome cabin close to town

Bill was super to work with. The cabin is walkable to Main Street, which I hard to find. We will definitely stay again. Thanks for allowing us to rent your cabin!

Great getaway

Loved our weekend in Highlands. The house was very comfortable and we enjoyed the fireplace. It was too cool for the screened in porch but that looked inviting! Very convenient to downtown and all the great hiking. Would stay here again!

Beautiful Cabin

The cabin is very clean and well maintained. It is within walking distance of downtown Highlands but secluded enough to be quiet. Interaction with the owner to answer a few questions was easy and he was pleasant to talk with. Overall this is a great get away and delivered as promised

Beautiful Mountain Cottage, in a surreal setting - the owners were wonderful to deal with.

The Cottage and location were just as published, and the location was close to town yet we felt seperated and private, so we could relax and enjoy our get away.

Great Location

We enjoyed our week stay at this comfortable, cozy cabin. If felt secluded but was an easy walk into town. We really enjoyed the nicely furnished large screen porch. And the gas fireplace was great to have after it turned cooler. The owner has thoughtfully provided everything you could possibly need from paper products to nightlights. Good communication with owner and easy check-in. Highly recommended.

Cozy cottage in a great location!

This property was perfect for our stay in Highlands. The location is an easy walk to town. The cottage is immaculately cared for and well furnished. The kingsize bed is very comfortable with quality linens and the towels are soft and fluffy. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment and basic pantry items to make cooking at home convenient. My husband and I especially enjoyed eating dinner on the screened deck in the fresh mountain air. The owner is very conscientious about making sure everything is right and provides good information. Definitely recommend it.
