Located in Kennebunkport (not neighboring Kennebunk), this home offers the charm of Cape Porpoise with easy access to Dock Square, beaches, and the harbor.

23 Ward is located in Cape Porpoise, a charming harbor village within Kennebunkport, known for its working lobster boats, scenic waterfront views, and relaxed, local feel. This home offers the best of both worlds -easy access to town and beaches, plus the charm of a traditional Maine fishing harbor. Think lobster boats, quiet roads, and sunsets over the water. It’s where you’ll find some of the area’s best seafood shacks and peaceful coastal walks.

This two-story home features five bedrooms and three full baths, four bedrooms and two baths on the second floor, and one bedroom with a full bath on the first floor, ideal for guests seeking first-floor living. Hardwood floors run throughout, and the home offers both front and back entrances. Window AC units ensure comfort during the summer months, while a gas fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere in the cooler seasons.

The home is designed for gathering, with a casual dining area and counter seating off the kitchen, as well as a formal dining room that accommodates up to 14 guests, perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

The private backyard is made for summer evenings, featuring a deck, seating area, gas grill, and fire pit. It’s an inviting space to relax after a day at the beach or exploring town.

Many of our guests return year after year, which means availability is limited and our review count may not reflect the number of families who have stayed with us. We’re always happy to provide additional references upon request.

Always a fun time at Ward Road

We have stayed several years at this location so it holds dear memories for our family. We had taken a few years off and were happy to get back to “our place in Maine”. Great weather, fantastic location and wonderful food. It was a great stay!

Great stay!!!

This house is exactly as described and shown in pictures. The owners were very responsive and kind. It was a great house to bring small kids to, lots of toys for the beach, pack n play, high chair and kitchenware. The location is great and in walking distance to restaurants and stores. We had a wonderful time and would definitely return!

Wonderful property

This is an excellent property, very clean, spacious, modern, well equipped in a beautiful quiet area of Kennebunkport. Short drive to beaches. Kelly and Jack were ideal hosts, responding to all our inquires quickly and professionally. I highly recommend this house.

Cape Porpoise Paradise

This is an exceptional rental. House is nicely furnished and very functional. Beds are comfy, linens are nice, kitchen is well equipped, plenty of room to relax in the living area, neighborhood is quiet and the location is fantastic.

Perfect for families and best neighborhood

Wonderful location and home! Cape Porpoise is such a special neighborhood and the house is great for families. A lot of bedrooms and space for being together, the backyard was wonderful for children. There are not AC’s in every bedroom, but if you prepare in advance and leave the hall one running, it doesn’t seem to be a problem. Thankfully Maine doesn’t get too hot! The hosts were very kind and even bought a pack N play and high chair for the home. Would absolutely return!

Wonderful large home for your family or friend gathering! Very modern and very clean. Offering a big kitchen and big back yard. 10 mins from Kennebunkport and 10 from beautiful Goose Rocks beach. Accommodating and responsive hosts. Enjoy!

Wonderful stay in Cape Porpoise!

We loved our time in Cape Porpoise. Best rental we have ever stayed in — house was well designed, immaculately clean and comfortable. Lots of toys for our 4.5 and almost 2 year old to play with, and the owners provided kid supplies like a booster seat and stroller. Cape Porpoise is so charming and we loved Kennebunkport as well. Jack and Kelly were friendly and easy to communicate with. We hope to be back!!

Fantastic House

We had a great time at this rental property. Very family friendly with games, stroller, high chair all at the house. The open living area was great for socializing in the evening while the kids played. Gorgeous neighborhood to walk and close to beach. Walked down to the lobster shack and got fresh steamed lobster. We hope to come back in the years to come!!

Great location - beautiful house !!

Beautiful, clean and spacious house, well equiped (nothing was missing). Perfect for young families (baby gear, stroller, gates, little swimming pools, big yard and toys). Perfectly located in the beautiful Cape Porpoise, just a few miles from Goose Rocks Beach. Only thing missing was AC, so the nights were a bit uncomfortable for a few days, but we’ve been told it was unusually hot during our stay. Owner responded very promptly to our only inquiry. Great overall !

Wonderful House, Wonderful Owner

We had a really great experience renting this house in beautiful Kennebunkport. The owner was very mindful about our stay. Very detailed oriented (there were fresh flowers in the kitchen table and he let us borrow a double stroller and pack and play for our daughters). Clean and beautiful house walking distance from pier, restaurants, cafe, and supermarket. Overall, we had a fantastic week!

Modern, Spacious and Serene

We had 10 grown women COMFORTABLY stay in this home and there was still an extra bed that could have been used! The kitchen/living area is open except for the beautiful fire place that sets as a "divide" between the two rooms. The yard is quintessential Maine with tall trees surrounding the property and it's only STEPS from the harbor! We had an amazing stay and will DEFINITELY be back.

Wonderful!

This is such a wonderful property! The house was immaculate, well-equipped, and very comfortable. We had plenty of space for all 11 family members, ages 1-69 years, to spread out and relax. The backyard was perfect for the kids and we enjoyed strolling down to the grocery store and little coffee shop. The owners did an excellent job leaving helpful instructions regarding the various appliances and we really appreciated their recommendations for restaurants and fun activities to do with the kids. We would happily rent this house again!

Great house near the ocean

We couldn't be more happy to stay in this perfect house. The neighboroud is quiet and friendly, very close to Kennebunport but far enough to be away from the traffic it attracts. Goose Rock Beach is also a short drive, and most important, the house is perfectly equiped, and big enough so everybody can find a quiet space. We shall come back ! Luc

Great updated house for our whole family

Such a great house to spend our summer vacation. Plenty of space for the family to spread out. Cape Porpoise is such a quaint town too. Walked every morning down to the pier then stopped at the Cape Porpoise kitchen for a coffee. So relaxing and we all had a great week. One thing you may want to know is there is no AC. That was difficult a couple says as the temps were in the upper 80's . Other than that everything was great !

Very comfortable new house in excellent location

This was our first time to Maine, and we could not had rented a better house for our family of 7. It is brand new home, large, very clean and well equipped, very comfortable and with an excellent location on a quiet street. You are close to the town center, beaches, and the major area roads, and withing walking distance to very nice restaurants and beautiful sea views. Jack is very pleasant, was always available for any minor issue and gave us very good advise on restaurants and beaches. This is a house that we would definitely rent again in the future.

Home was very clean and beautifully decorated. Yard was great size. AWESOME location!

We stayed for almost 2 weeks and everything was great! House has plenty of "zones" for socializing, playing games, etc. Very spacious. Beds were comfor table. Location was awesome for walks to store and restaurants. Neighborhood was pretty quiet. Definitely one of the best houses we've rented.

This is a beautiful house and is equipped with everything you could possibly need.

I was most anxious for my family to experience this area as I had come here every summer when I was young. This house gave us lots of room and the location was ideal- quiet yet close to so many activities. We couldn't have had a better time.

23 Ward - Fantastic property, great location, great owner

23 Ward is one of the most pleasurable rental experiences you will ever have! The house is large, very clean, modern, and comfortable. There is cable & surround sound for the house along with board games for entertainment; the kitchen is stocked w/ plates, silverware, pots, pans, cooking supplies, and new gas oven/stovetop; gas fired fireplace; comfy couches; great dining room and porch set; 3 car driveway; and many bedrooms, linens, towels, etc. There is a large porch and backyard with firepit with plenty of room for activities, hanging out, dining, & grilling. Cannot say enough about the house and how great it was. The property is located just an easy 5 minute walk from mini-town center of Cape Porpoise where you can find groceries, home/personal supplies, great take out, a couple shops, church and a small restaurant. Across the point (5 min drive) on Bickford Island there are a couple great restaurants/pub types (Pier 77, Cape Pier Chowder House). Similarly, a quick 7 minute drive brings you right into the beautiful downtown of Kennebunkport itself. Jack was a pleasure to work with. He was clear in his directions, amenable to schedule changes (we were running in two marathons that weekend so the schedule was a little crazy), and responsive to questions while at the house. There was also a binder of directions that clearly outlined everything about the house provided as well, which was a huge help. Overall an A+ stay and A+ owner. Highly recommend!

Wonderful home for our family vacation

Our family of 6 adults, 1 toddler and 2 babies had a wonderful stay in Cape Porpoise! The house was extremely clean, well-maintained, and a perfect set-up for grandparents and two young families. The kids spent a lot of time playing on the clean floor together, and there were bonuses like toys for them to use, baby-friendly bath products, a nursery with a crib, and a double stroller. It worked out well that the bedrooms and bathrooms were spaced out so that each family could have their own space, and we congregated in the comfortable living room downstairs. The kitchen was beautiful, clean, and made meal prep easy when we ate in for a few meals. The location was also excellent. It was a beautiful area to stroll around and an easy walk to a few shops and restaurants in Cape Porpoise. It was a short drive to Kennebunkport, beaches, and the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge. The owner was also easy to communicate with throughout the process and everything went smoothly. We'd love to return in the future!

Lovely, spacious home, perfect for our family vacation.

Just finished a wonderful family vacation at Cape Porpoise, but hated to leave. Without a doubt, this was the nicest rental property we have ever stayed in. It was perfect for our multi-generational group that included an infant, toddler, teenager, adults and seniors. There was so much to see and do within walking distance, and amazing beaches, shopping, and sightseeing were an easy 10-15 minute drive. We enjoyed kayaking, golf, tennis, shopping, movie theater, lobster dinner, playground, beach, hiking, and scenic drives. Highly recommended.
