This stay was a great way to disconnect from everything and recharge. The views of Mount Adams were spectacular, the hot tub was nice to have for morning wake ups and night time unwind, and the best of all, the neighbour's cat came to visit us. We would definitely stay here again.

The Yurt was very peaceful and quiet. A wonderful retreat getaway. Be prepared to drive about a mile and a half of gravel road but it was well worth it.

This stay was really nice. The only thing I’d note is I would want to know in the listing that there’s no WiFi. You are totally off grid with this place so it’d be nice to know up front. Thanks!

A birthday weekend away

Amazing yurt experience. The hot tub was perfect for our relaxing party of two. We appreciated the shower and bathroom amenities to the camping experience. Only complaints are the atv that was doing some work near by early saturday morning and our mistake of not realizing there would be no wifi or cell service. Would definitely stay again.

Must stay

If you want to check out and be out in nature, not hearing the chime a cell phone ... but instead hearing the chirping of birds !! This is the place ... also an amazing veiw of Mt. Adams

nice getaway from the hustle and bustle

the wood work in the yurt is beautiful, very clean. remote area so if you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place. bring a book there is no TV.

Very nice and very clean. Easy to communicate with the owners. Beds were smaller then we were use to. But thats on us for not reading closely. Very remote with great mountain views.

This adorable yurt was exactly what we were looking for! This was our home base for 3 nights and the location was great for exploring the Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood areas. The view of Mt. Adams is spectacular and the soaking tub on the deck was so relaxing after long days of hiking and exploring. The only “issue” for us was the bed-it’s REALLY soft! This is personal preference though and we understand that! We would come back as it was perfect for us.

The yurt is magical in an absolutely beautiful setting.It is the perfect place to unwind, unplug, and relax (perhaps in the amazing soaking tub!) The yurt is visited by deer and many birds and Mount Adams is perfectly framed in the kitchen window.One of the most welcome surprises was to find all the knives were beautifully sharp!While the yurt is beautifully situated an extremely comfortable, please bring all necessities and incidentals with you.Gone are the days when one would find staples in the kitchen and bathroom (oil, aluminum foil or plastic wrap, coffee or tea, soap, etc.) - Which is fine, just come prepared - so you can enjoy this magical place to the fullest.I hope to return in the winter!

Perfect in every way

The yurt was stunningly beautiful and comfortable way beyond our expectations. The quality of the workmanship that went into the building and furnishing of this accommodation was amazing and cannot be overstated. Loved the stove and lighting and all the remotes. And the hot tub was one of the best features. The caretaker was always available and gave us so much information about the history of the area, the people who lived nearby, and the animals we might see.

Highly recommend

The place was clean, and comfortable. The views we great and the stars at night were amazing. Friendly farm dog came to see us off at check out. Watch for deer, rabbits and all the life around. Feel totally refreshed and made our anniversary pretty special.

Great Getaway

We’d never stayed anywhere ’off-grid’ before and this property exceeded our expectations. The Yurt at Rivendell was clean, quiet, private, and tranquil-the perfect place to relax for a couple of days on our way east. The barrel hot tub was super relaxing, and our gracious hosts provided everything we needed to feel pampered. Outstanding!

And, we've recently done some work to try to stem the leaks wooden hot tubs inevitably spring -- Seems to have worked, too. If you make it back our way and decide to come back to stay (either at the yurt or at Tree House Tranqujil-a-Tree on the same 40 acres) please to let us know so we can extend a courtesy returning guest discount! Hope your travels have been safe but exciting enough for tales around the campfire! Roy and Rebecca!

A weekend to remember

This property offered a truly splendid glamping experience. Well off the beaten path, I was able to take a break from busy city life and reconnect with nature. An assortment of birds were not shy about checking me out on the front porch. A couple of deer came near the property the first night. There were horses grazing across the meadow. And a nearby neighbor had goats! Once I arrived I was more than content to read, listen to afternoon rain showers fall on the yurt’s roof, and soak in the hot tub. The kitchen was also very well stocked and I was able to cook some delicious meals during my stay. Overall, it was a perfect blend of living off the grid with all the comforts of home you could hope for. A really special place!

The best peaceful mountain retreat

Wow!! This place was magical!! The yurt in the middle of nowhere with amazing mountain view’s, a teak hot tub and the tranquility of nature was such a wonderful way to spend the weekend. The kitchen was perfect, it had everything you need. The yurt was very clean, the owners were very responsive and just all around a very welcoming, incredible and unique place to stay.

Much-needed private getaway

We loved the private yurt in the woods! Everything was made from wood collected from the property, and finished beautifully. We especially loved the teakwood hot tub, you wont find one of these in most places. No phone service (another plus if you ask us), so bring books, games, etc and get back to the basics!
