A nice house on a beautiful lake, but with one major flaw

THE GOOD: The host is very friendly and helpful and goes the extra mile to make guests comfortable. I have never seen a rental house so fully stocked with "extra touches". The first floor is recently renovated and there is plenty of room to spread out around the house, with lots of little nooks to escape to. The town is conveniently located and the lake is beautiful. THE BAD: I am surprised none of the other reviews mention how close and loud and active Camp Manitou is. Maybe 100-150 feet away. If your idea of a relaxing vacation does not include Reveille at 730am, PA announcements and bugle fanfares throughout the day, and scores of happy boys yelling to each other (it does look like the most fun camp on earth) this may not be the spot for you.

perfect vacation

This is our 2nd year staying here. The lake house was a very relaxing experience. Mark is attentive to any needs or questions. The location is beautiful and accommodations are clean and comfortable. we will be staying again!

Relaxing and scenic

This cottage was everything we could have asked for! The location is right on the water with a gorgeous view. One of the most gorgeous sunsets we’ve seen with Sugarbush mountain in the background. This cottage comes equipped with everything you could ask for on a lake vacation: fire pit, kayaks, deck, grill, spacious dock. Mark was so kind and had great communication. He made sure we had everything that we needed. We traveled during COVID-19 and felt very safe with the cleanliness of Mark’s place. He took cleaning and health precautions very seriously. He even left wipes and disinfectant spray out for us to use as needed. This might become a yearly trip with friends!

Labor Day Weekend Stay

The property was exactly as described. Very clean and well stocked with linens, bath & lake towels. Mark (property manager) was there when we arrived and gave us a nice tour. He went above and beyond by having snacks, water, breakfast items, fruit and and several other items available for no charge. The grill was cleaned for us, and the fire pit ready to go. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Trurly a beautiful setting!

Week at East Pond

Nice location! Found the property a bit run down. Host is very nice and always available. Beds comfortable but small. Will consider coming back if property gets a few upgrades.

Wonderful Vacation!

We had a marvelous vacation. The lake house was spacious and well-equipped, and the owner was right next door in case of any questions. The lake itself is absolutely lovely. It seems very quiet and secluded, but is actually close enough to grocery stores and places to eat to be convenient. We used it as a base for some day trips to the coast, Sabbath Day Lake Shaker Village and a state fair, but it was also great for swimming, kayaking, and just looking out at the water. We would definitely recommend this to anyone.

best vacation hands down!

Our stay was nothing short of perfect! The area was quiet, serene and the neighbors were extremely nice. The owner was responsive to any questions or needs. The home when we arrived was welcoming with some nice surprises. We have never rented a home on the lake but we will definately be returning next year! Thank you Mark for a class A stay!

Gem by the lake!

Very cute, spacious and super clean cabin by the lake. It was quiet and tranquil. The owner had plenty comforts to keep your entertained. Remote area but close enough to stores and activities. Enjoyed every minute of our stay!
