Wonderful Stay

We enjoyed our stay here. The home had the most incredible view, and the checkin/out process was very easy. We especially appreciated that the house had beach towels, toys and snorkeling items for us to use. We’d love to stay here again!

Amazing location

This home has everything you need and then some. The view was incredible and the beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed exploring the island and relaxing on the beach.

Great family getaway!

This was the second time our family had stayed at this house on Water Island, and we had another exceptional experience. Caribview was perfect for the 5 of us, and the hosts made everything easy. We would highly recommend and hope to return!

We have been staying at CaribView for years and we keep going back for a reason! Beautiful house and views that you can't beat. We will be back again next year!

The most spectacular ocean views could be enjoyed from the kitchen/livingroom, large balcony and two of the three bedrooms. We enjoyed zipping around the island on our rented golf cart. Doug met us at the boat and took care of our luggage and also assisted us getting back to the ferry. We had a small issue with the garbage disposal and smoke detector and he came promptly to take care of it. For those who have difficulty with stairs, everything is on one level. We highly recommend this vacation home!!

The most beautiful view!

Doug was great to meet us at the ferry from St. Thomas and help us get back there with all of our luggage. The home was fully equipped and the breezes coming made the weather so enjoyable. The wall to wall windows gave us different views every day depending on the weather. I would definitely rent a golf cart. Exploring the island was fun. The island locals were great and so welcoming. We ate on the beach at Dinghy’s every night with the fresh catch and a Caesar salad - all were delicious - and the sunset views were spectacular!!! And, the fish tacos at Heidi’s were delicious as well. Will definitely be back!

Caribview on the hill

The views were spectacular! However the windows in the living area were stationary and the blinds covering them were broken. This situation caused the house to be extremely hot starting early in the morning. The manager did bring us a small fan that helped. Each bedroom did have ac. There is no golf cart.

Unbelievable views!!

Outstanding location for a panoramic view of the Crown bay area. It’s elevation ensures a solid Caribbean breeze which you can channel through the home via large sliding glass doors. The home is build to withstand the elements. A fabulous vacation spot that did not disappoint. The host and property manager are very knowledgeable, accommodating and responsive. Tips: 1-Gold cart rental for your stay is a must. It’s the only way to explore the island unless you really like hills. 2-The ferry schedule to and from water island can dictate your activities unless you opt for a private service which will cost you. 3-Take advantage of the on island eating locations.

Hated to leave

Our family of four (with adult kids 19 and 21) stayed for 11 nights over Christmas. We left Water Island just a couple times to explore and get food, but spent most of the time at Honeymoon Beach, which is perfect. Go early to snag one of the free palapas. The house is well stocked for beach and for cooking, but plan your food purchases well. Renting a golf cart was worth it. There’s a Pueblo grocery store 3 minutes walk from ferry in Charlotte Amalie. Heidi’s was great food but limited hours. Dinghy’s was good too. The views from the house are amazing. Doug was great, immediately took care of the one minor problem we had. Highly recommend. They even had a cribbage board!

WOWZA PANORAMIC VIEWS

CaribView exceeded our expectations in every way! This lovely home is fully stocked and then more! AC in bedrooms, but with tradewinds, AC not necessarily needed. Loved the Brita Filter system which decreased need to purchase/transport water from STT. Pueblos grocery on STT has everything you need. Groceries a bit pricey, but understandable, so pack check luggage with rice, Quinoa, beans, peanut butter, protein bars, protein powder for smoothies, etc..We had total of 6 adults, and only spent average of 125 p/p for 9 nights/10 days, excluding 3-4 meals purchased from 3 restaurants on STT and STJohns. Visit Dinghys and Heidi's Grill for outstanding food and drinks!! Also a big thanks to Doug and Rachael for supplying a crockpot and various necessities, including two golf cart rentals which I higly recommend to explore the beauty of Waterisland! Planning our return to Carib View!!! Blessings to all the wonderful people of the USVI!!!!!

The Perfect Getaway with Breathtaking Views

This is definitely part of our top 5 family vacations in the past 20 years. My husband and I with our 3 young adult children, 21,19, 17(now 22,19,18 after our vacation) traveled to Water Island to take a step back from our busy lives and spend quality time together as a family. This is the perfect location to do just that. Tony was the best host!!! Doug, the resident manager, was very pleasant and attentive. He texted us to make sure our flight was on time and met us at the ferry. The transition and getting settled in the house was very smooth. He even shared details of life on the island and told us where to go to find whatever we needed. There were a few minor issues, but he rectified them immediately and the “act of God” we experienced - sargassum seaweed was out of his control. -Internet went out(Doug came right up to the house and reset the router and showed us how to restart it if we had any other issues with the internet) -Needed paper towels(Doug apologized for the inconvenience and brought them right away and even left an extra roll 😊) Something to consider: If you are afraid of bugs or small reptiles then you should probably consider staying in St Thomas at the Ritz Carlton or a tourist location. We saw plenty of tortoises and small lizards at the property and on the island. The only con: The ferry ride back and forth to Water Island can be costly if you are traveling with a large family. Overall great getaway with spectacular views. Hoping to return soon.

The Caribview was perfectly located one of the most beautiful houses on the Island.

We are already missing the spectacular views from almost every room in the house. Caribview is located close to everything and on the west side of the island where the perfect breezes flow through the many screen doors. Everything you need is easy to find. The golf cart was the best mode of transportation to Honeymoon Beach, Limestone Bay, the marina to St. Thomas, and Fort Segarra. The fort and tunnels were about 15 minutes away and the others were about 5 minutes. Honeymoon Beach is a beautiful beach with wonderful swimming in turquoise water where you see fish, rays, and many sea turtles. They were very easy to find and I spent hours swimming with them. Jet ski and paddle board rentals were also fun. Heidi’s is on one end of the Honeymoon Beach. It has great food and we highly recommend the burgers and fish tacos. They open at 11am and close early in the evening except for on Movie night (Monday), Bingo night (Wednesday), and candlelight dinner night (Saturday). We did not know you had to make a reservation for Saturday night, but Heidi’s was very accommodating and we thoroughly enjoyed the prime rib, Dinghy’s also had great food and offers candlelight dinner (no reservations required) on Friday night. The mahi mahi was my favorite meal of the week. They have live music several evenings and are open until about 10:30/11pm. You can also play a game of Tiki Toss and get free lessons from the best of them. Residents, people who anchor their boats on the island, and tourists from Kon Tiki boats offered a wonderful combination of a fun, friendly, and lively bunch. We also spent one afternoon at the beautiful Lindbergh Bay on St. Thomas, which is a 10 minute ride from Crown Bay Marina, which is the destination of the 10 minute ferry ride from Water Island. The beach was a little more crowded than Honeymoon Beach, but it was nice to visit for the afternoon and to see the greener water color. We also took a little bit longer but stil easy trip to Trunk Bay on St. John’s. It has a beautiful beach with an awesome 650 foot underwater snorkeling trail with amazing coral and about 50 different kinds of tropical fish. It is a national park so I recommend reading the rules. Limestone Bay was a cool place to explore, collect seashells, and leave a shoe on the shoe tree. Fort Segarra was another cool place to visit, but we did not wish to go into any dark tunnels. My family fell in love with Caribview/Water Island. We can’t wait to come back!

OK, I will start this off by saying it is very difficult to get here. It is not on St. Thomas the actual island you literally have to go to a grocery store with all your luggage grab groceries. Go back to the ferry, which comes every hour and travel across water to another island then you are forced to rent a go kart if not, you will be walking up and down the hill. There’s no stores on this island and everything is over at six unlessYou want to pay more to get a private boat when I spoke to the property manager before coming he was very rude, but he ended up being a little bit nice when we arrive. You also have to pay for the ferry back-and-forth. Everything is just expensive & an overpriced. If you’re looking for the St. Thomas experience, do not get a place anywhere else but one same time make sure it states it’s on Thomas the island not Water Island. Other than that, the property have beautiful views in a while we put kitchen besides the dishwasher being broke..tourist money grab

Great place

You will love the view and the house. It has everything you need to get away and the view is awesome being able to see the St. Thomas, parts of the Water Island and looking out into the sea. It is just beautiful to wake up and go to sleep in this beautiful house.

Absolutely Gorgeous location

Simply put: we’ll be back. This is a gem of a property with million-dollar views. Solidly planted on the ridge on the windward side, this concrete and stone structure stands with one of the most remarkable views on the island. On the eastern side, a breathtaking view of Limestone Bay - watch the cruise boats approach the bay, and then take a step onto the western side back deck to see them dock. It’s amazing. I could watch the water for hours… As noted by others, this is not a luxury property with steam showers, stone, marble, soaking tubs and fancy finishes. But who needs that? Here you have cool ocean breezes, a kitchen with the necessary appliances and a dishwasher, plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces to accommodate different interests, and nature outside your door. Our lullaby was the nighttime critters and the breeze. We never once turned on the TV. We didn’t miss AC. We did, however, forget that it rains often overnight and woke up to a quick rain deluge and wet bathing suits on the clothesline… Friendly folks everywhere, and lots of visitors here have been here year after year, so lots of great advice for where to snorkel and where to go. Honeymoon beach is beautiful with sea turtles, ramoras, a sting ray, and colorful fish in the sea grass. There are $5 umbrella rentals for the day, but if you get there early there are lovely palm cabanas, and going in the evening is easy. Food is good, but service can be slow particularly when a boat has dumped out a bunch of cruise passengers. Heidi’s is FANTASTIC. Excellent food (fish tacos!!) amazing drinks (try the Beachwacker or the Painkiller), and Heidi is just lovely. The caretakers for this property and the property owner were extremely responsive to questions, and made this stay truly special. Five stars for Tony and Doug. Things we will do next time: pack a suitcase with non-perishable groceries for our stay (coffee, rice, pasta, coco Lopez, cereal, snacks) and make a quick stop to Pueblo’s for perishables only. Grocery prices on an island are high, as expected, and now I have a much better idea of meal planning and food access. The water is perfectly fine- filtered from the cistern/rain, and no issues with consumption at all, and it tasted GOOD. There is a Keurig and a tiny Breville espresso machine with tiny pods. I’m not sure if I will try provisioning next time. We did fine with a quick jaunt to the grocery store. No biggie, even with kids. This property is magical. Shhhh!!!!

Paradise

This was one of the best vacations we have ever had. We arrived at dusk and the views are beautiful at night but we were just overwhelmed the next morning with the incredible views from the house. This house has everything. Beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, coolers, some (bring a few if you have a bigger group) beach towels, lots of spices, oils, and basic kitchen supplies. It was my son’s birthday so I was delighted to find a hand mixer to make him a cake. As stated in other reviews, it is not luxurious. It’s an older home but everything was clean and functional. One other caution, because there is no air and you need to keep every door and window open, even though there are screens, we had a couple of visitors. One tiny lizard and a couple of bugs. This didn’t bother us in the least, but it could be an issue for others so consider that before booking. Tony was also great to work with-very communicative and very helpful and accommodating. It was insanely expensive but we had groceries delivered ahead of time and they were in the refrigerator when we arrived. I would highly recommend that as it would have been almost impossible for us to get all we needed for a week for 5 people in addition to our luggage. The golf cart was great. We enjoyed exploring the island and it made going the beach a breeze. We did go to St. Thomas a couple of days but we all would have been happy to just stay on Water Island. Water Island and a day on a boat charter were our favorites. We loved our time here and look forward to our next trip!

Excellent Getaway with Beautiful Views

Spectacular views with everything a family needs while staying on Water Island. Easy check-in and a short golf cart drive away from the ferry dock. Also nearby is Heidi's (lunch spot with Bingo on Saturday's), Honeymoon Beach, and a small general store near the ferry dock. The only complaint I would have is that the beds were extremely firm as I generally like a softer bed. Otherwise, everything was perfect for our stay.

Restful Retreat

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our restful retreat on Water Island, with the constant cooling trade winds and the absolutely amazing ocean views! There was a perfect mix of some activity locally on Water Island on picture perfect Honeymoon Beach and the one restaurant on the beach that made for a perfect evening. We will definitely be coming back!

Relaxing

Amazing view! Very clean! No AC or lotion needed! Relaxing! Quiet! We had a great time!!! Definitely best to order your groceries, drive around and get lost while there, it’s worth it. Friendly island and beautiful “glass” house as I call it.
