Da-Ja View is the place to be.

Great cabin! This was our 2nd stay. Well furnished throughout. Enjoyed the upgrade in master suite to king size bed. Very comfortable. Terrific wrap-around desk. Sadly, summer fires limited the view and wildlife that we enjoyed so much last time. Close proximity to Yellowstone & Big Sky makes day trips easy. Thank you for sharing this wonderful property!

Amazing property

If we could give this a 20-star rating, we would! Everything was absolutely fantastic about DA-JA View. There has obviously been a lot of thought and care put into this home over the years. Check-in was a breeze, and David was extremely helpful with many suggestions and recommendations. I can say it was very difficult to leave after our week's stay, and we hope to be back soon!

Great Cabin and Great Owners

The cabin was just as expected. High in the mountains, somewhat secluded, and quiet. It was great sitting on the porches and being in nature. One thing to keep in mind is that September in fly season so you will get some fly's and moths in the house, it is what it is though. Owners were very responsive with questions and needs. Really enjoyed the experience!

Great spot just outside of Livingston

We had a great stay at this fun and eclectic home on the hill. The deck was great for sitting out on the evening, and the house was stocked with everything we could have needed to enjoy our stay. The proximity is close enough to Livingston that you feel part of the town but far enough out that you still get to enjoy the peace and quiet of the surrounding mountains.

The cabin is paradise in Paradise Valley. One of the easiest homes to live in.

The setting of this cabin is one of the most beautiful I have ever experienced. If anyone is looking for the real cowboy country feel this is definitely the place. From the bear, Buffalo, deer, elk skins, rugs, and trophy mounts to the wonderful wood, art , and modern amenities...there is nothing lacking. During our stay there was a doe and fawn staying in our yard and antelope and elk in the meadows below. Livingston is a real cow town with great restaurants and plenty of shops and cowboy bars and the natives are very friendly. We are close enough to Chico Hot Springs, 30 minutes, to enjoy the hot springs pool, massage, and one of the best dinners we have ever had. I often remember my travels by the food and Chico Springs Restaurant is unforgettable, Dave was there by telephone immediately on arriving and within a few minutes he had us acquainted with the property. He sent suggestions for dining and shopping and all were as good as advertised. And then there’s the Park! Thank you Dave and Jane for sharing your home with us. Kim and Duane from Kansas.

Great Montana setting!

This log home has authentic beauty! With over 3,800 sq ft, it's hard to call it a "cabin". Filled with all the rustic treasures and modern conveniences, it is furnished with everything you will need & enjoy and obviously well cared for. The wrap-around deck was our favorite! Morning, noon & evening offered different views from each side. Daily visits from deer were a special treat. The location is perfect! Close proximity to Bozeman, Livingston, Big Sky, and of course Yellowstone National Park, gives you more than enough varied activities to enjoy. The owners were especially helpful offering tips on local musical events, museums, and restaurants. We are so glad they are willing to share this special home with others. Deja View we hope to see you again soon!

Beautiful area with stunning views!

The property is lovely with gorgeous views. It felt like we had the whole area to ourselves but we could be in town in just a few minutes to shop or eat or just stroll the streets. We had an issue with the basement bedroom but as soon as we let the owners know, they sent someone and had the problem handled within a few hours. They were very responsive and gave us a lot of great information about the area. We had a wonderful stay.

We had an AMAZING stay at this incredible home! Hands down, my dream home! It was a clean and cozy cabin. I loved all of the decor! We even got some snow while we were here! We loved the location. We went to Bozeman for a day and to Yellowstone also. Can not say enough great things about this rental! Our time there was perfect! Absolutely breathtaking! A vacation of a lifetime!

This property is located at an ideal location. It is an hour from the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park, 30 minutes from Bozeman, 11/2 hours from Big Sky and close driving distance to numerous hiking trails. The Yellowstone River is within view, perfect for those that fly fish. The views from the deck are incredible, 4 or 5 mountain ranges can be seen. The house is very tastefully decorated in a western style , even a buffalo skin thrown over the loft railing. The western town of Livingston sits 2 miles down from the house and the distant sound of trains traveling west and east can faintly be heard, which I liked, as they travel through Livingston. Livingston is a neat old western small town with restaurants, bars, shops and galleries. We particularly enjoyed the primerib, a Friday night special, at the Stockman, a true taste of Livingston. If you want a bucket load of memories you need to come here, the house, the views and Montana, WOW!

Thank you for sharing your home. Made my spring vacation awesome. Your home is so beautiful and has everything you need. Views are breathtaking! We hiked on near by trails and visited Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Downtown Livingston is close and lots to do there, great restaurants! Rib and Chop House and The Stockman are favorites. After a day of hiking you can relax on the deck and enjoy the view. Your home is comfortable and has a warm feeling of being at home. Thank you again and look forward to staying with you again. Awesome place to enjoy Montana!

DA-JA View is a wonderful vacation spot. The log cabin is beautifully decorated and inviting with all the amenities one would need. Located in a private area, the cabin is quite accessible to many points of interest. These include the quaint town of Livingston, the town of Boseman, Yellowstone National Park, The Grand Teton National Park as well as many hiking trails. The home was lovely and richly appointed. A truly pleasant setting after a long day of exploring.

The proximity to Yellowstone's North entrance (~50 minutes) was great and the drive was scenic and pleasant (even in mid-July). Livingston is a fun town offering plenty of restaurants and bars for the day's end. Absolutely no complaints!!!

We are North Carolina natives with family ties to Montana going back 70 years. A group of young Tarheels, all war veterans,, came west looking for better jobs in the booming timber industry. Some couldn't take it and headed back east. Some died here before they could choose whether to stay or go.

The "JA" in "DA-JA View" was fathered by a wonderful, hard-working gentleman who survived 10 long years here working in an industry and in weather, and living in conditions, that were nothing less than brutal. JAne started school here in Livingston just down the road in Paradise Valley when 2-room schoolhouses were still the norm. Her "alma mater" still stands and has been renovated into a nice little house on Old Yellowstone Road.

In the late 1990's, JAne and her side of the family made a trip west which included a Livingston. BOOM! She decided it was time to reestablish here. I was skeptical to say the least. My family made 2 cross-country treks in the 60's which skirted north and south of here (why, Dad?). Think National Lampoon's "Vacation" on steroids. I had skied virtually every major Rocky Mountain slope (except Big Sky, ironically). BUT I had never been to Yellowstone Country. BOOM! I was hooked. At that time, the great land rush for vacation home property was just beginning. But we found out quickly that most of the prime building spots were already gone. After months of commuting and futility looking for the "right" place, we got lost and traveled up what is now our road. It was the wrong direction for the property we were actually looking for. But it was actually fate, luck, or Divine Providence steering us in the perfect direction.

Were it not for a twist of fate, DA-JA View would have never come to be. JAne's father is gone now, but he was able to visit here on several occasions. He approved, but was astounded by what Livingston had become. DA-JA View proudly stands as part of his legacy.

You will agree this is Heaven on Earth. And the Last Best Place.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

Pay close attention to location when looking through the listings for your Livingston/Paradise Valley vacation rental. You will see that most are in the Valley. That's OK and there certainly are views everywhere.

But if you would rather be UP looking out and down over the Valley rather than DOWN in the Valley looking up at mountains (like the one we're on), your choices become limited. Mountainside properties overlooking the Valley are scarce. And usually outrageously expensive.

Even though we're up and away, It's a quick trip up or down our road from or to the main highway. As you travel on our private road, you will be going through a huge horse ranch. You will pass a few homes, but the journey is as beautiful as the destination. You will likely see deer or other wildlife along the way, so be careful.

The value of the location of DA-JA View cannot be overstated. The sensation of sheer spaciousness are incredible - even at night! The grandeur of rainbows, sunsets, sunrises and thunderstorms are magnified. The sound of trains in the distance as you sit on our decks, patios, or porches is unforgettable.

We found the land by accident after we got lost trying to find another property. Once you see the view, you will understand why it was love at first sight. There is no spot on earth quite like DA-JA View.

We're minutes from town. 35 minutes from BZN airport. 50 minutes north of Gardiner, the northern entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Six minutes or so from Rosa's, the best pizza in Montana. And maybe 10 minutes from Mark's In & Out which has been serving legendary burgers and shakes for over 60 years.

We rent DA-JA View at a rate comparable the the Valley rentals. But that is where the comparison ends.

Compare location, space, amenities, and rates. No Yellowstone Country property beats DA-JA View.

Yellowstone Country should be on everyone's bucket list. This is Montana's Paradise Valley, the Last Best Place.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

DA-JA View is one of the few upscale mountainside residences available for vacation rental in Yellowstone Country. One can only truly appreciate the majesty of Paradise Valley by viewing it from above. And this is a PRIME location.

The cabin lies within a horse ranch. Even the 2-mile drive up to the house from the main highway is a delight. Wildlife abounds, so be very careful at night.

The place is rustic yet luxurious. Close to civilization, but feels like you're alone. With the lights of Livingston twinkling at night in the valley below, you have amazing views 24 hours a day. We are about 55 BEAUTIFUL minutes from Gardiner, MT, the northern entrance of Yellowstone National Park.

"Discover Livingston resting on the banks of the Yellowstone River surrounded by majestic mountains. Livingston delivers an eclectic blend of shops, museums, galleries, live theater and music, as well as unique restaurants for every taste. Explore Park County to experience the rivers and ranges, ranches and romance. Whether you seek the rugged outdoors or culture, cuisine and comforts, you'll find exciting places and friendly faces here in Livingston, Park County, Montana."

"Located just north of Yellowstone National Park, Livingston sits on the banks of the mighty Yellowstone River. The Yellowstone River is the longest free flowing river in the United States and is home to some of the best trout fishing in the world. Hiking, biking and horse back riding opportunities abound in the area making Livingston the perfect vacation spot. Known as a sportsman's paradise, many experienced guides and outfitters can help visitors have the hunting or fishing experience of a life time. The wide streets of the historic downtown harkens back to the days of Calamity Jane, a known resident of Livingston. Boutiques, cafes and art galleries featuring some of the countries most renown Western artists make a day of shopping a cultural surprise."
