The Space:
Nestled in the 500-year-old historic Spanish colonial city of Old San Juan, Mint Suite is the ideal basecamp to explore Old San Juan history, restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. The suite has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, open layout living area right beside the modern kitchen and dining table. You will love the combination of old-world colonial structural design and new world amenities such as air conditioning throughout the villa, wifi, TV, and modern yet simple decor. The location is ideal for those looking to be close to the action in Old San Juan, next to restaurants, a plaza and all that you need to see in this beautiful historic city. The suite comfortably sleeps 2 adults in the bedroom's king-size bed. 

8/23/23 CONSTRUCTION NOISE: Please be aware that starting on August 28th you may experience light construction noise as there will be starting renovations on one of this building's units. Construction will be ongoing Monday through Friday 7AM to 5PM. This should last about 4 months.

PLEASE NOTE: Some tiles might have marks on them. This is an old building and thus, some of the original tiles might have some blemishes and/or imperfections on them. 

The bedroom TV features a SMART TV, just for the use of apps like (youtube, Netflix, etc)
IMPORTANT:

This apartment is overlooking the street - guests will hear street noise at night from Friday to Saturday and that is part of the charm!

 
LIVING AREAS
As soon as you enter Mint Suite you are welcomed by the spacious living area that features a comfortable lounge area for 2, a dining table with a state of the art flat-screen TV and a modern kitchen.
 

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

Mint Suite has one bedroom that comfortably sleeps 2 adults. The spacious bedroom has a king-size bed, personal side tables, air conditioning, access to a full bathroom and a spacious closet. Best of all features a private balcony! The bedroom has a simple & modern decor with mint and nude tones throughout the suite. It is appointed with fresh linens for a good night's sleep.
 

KITCHEN

Mint Suite has a decent size kitchen, which was just updated with new cabinets and countertops. The kitchen has a coffee maker, stovetop, microwave, and fridge. We include enough paper towels, trash bags, and dish soap for guests to comfortably start their stay. 

 
LOCATION

Staying in Old San Juan is a truly unique experience filled with charm and character. From the property, you can comfortably walk anywhere within Old San Juan. The apartment is located on one of the quieter streets but still steps away from all the action. We recommend taking a cab from the airport and using Uber or taxi while you stay at Old San Juan. Renting a car is not necessary unless you are planning on road tripping. This is a truly walkable location with everything you need a short walk away. The apartment does not include parking. Nonetheless, there are convenient parking lots close to the apartment. 
 
There are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites, all within walking distance:

Explore the El Morro Fort. There are daily tours of the fort and the large green areas have spectacular ocean views. Take a tour, have a picnic, and fly a kite. This is a must-do.
Explore the iconic Calle San Sebastian nightlife. There is a large assortment of bars on this strip which is a favorite among locals on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Breakfast at “La Bombonera”. This is a Puerto Rican landmark well known for its locally inspired breakfast and pastries.
Savor Stuffed Avocado. Healthy and "trendy" spot where you can create your own avocado bowl.
Take a stroll around “Paseo La Princesa”, a waterfront walkway which you can start off at El Morro and finish of the walk with a rum tasting at Princesa Gastrobar at the end of the trail.


GETTING AROUND

This property does not include parking. If staying within the general San Juan/Metro area, we recommend moving around via Uber. If you decide to rent a car, there are various paid parking garages around Old San Juan - pricing varies as some charge by the hour and others have a flat rate. 


TRAVEL INSURANCE

We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, especially during the peak months of Hurricane Season, which are July to October. Travel insurance is inexpensive and will reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, this will depend on what the coverage purchased covers. Make sure to review and understand the options before purchase. Disclaimer: we are not associated with any travel insurance companies.


AMENITIES

West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.

West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, and 1 dish sponge. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay. 


HOUSE RULES

Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
Check-out time is at 11:00 am
NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property.
Building quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please keep noise levels down during these hours out of respect to the neighbors.
The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service.  If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
All bookings are contingent on signing a short term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
Maximum occupancy of 2 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors. 
Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.    
Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged. 
Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule. 
Subletting not allowed

We will share recommendations on things to do and places to eat prior to your arrival and we are available to provide suggestions for any other activities you may be interested in doing during your trip. Most importantly, you will have a dedicated Property Manager to resolve any issues that may arise during your stay. We want to make your experience the best it can be!

Nice place, great location!
Nice space and fantastic location. Loved the balcony that overlooks the church courtyard. Building is very secure and the host was attentive. An issue was resolved quickly. Building is located close to shopping and restaurants. You don't need a car, everything is walkable. We had a great time!

I am usually very lucky in finding places to stay while on vacation by using this site. Love the reviews others leave as it helps me determine if it's right for us. This one had none, but still decided to take a chance because of the beautiful pictures on the website. The good, the place was super clean, spacious, comfortable, had all the utensili we needed, comfortable bed,, and felt safe while staying at the location, although the room had a funny smell we could not get past. The bad, homeless people outside the door with their shopping carts, (not their fault, but should be listed) ants were all over the bathroom floor, the blind at the balcony door was torn and the elavator was the s l o w e s t elevator I've ever seen.. In addition, kitchen bags full of trash leaning up against the wall, but the worst was the smell of skunk weed throughout the building. It got so bad, we ended up leaving 2 days earlier than planned. This place has so much potential if someone would just go the extra mile and put some effort into making it shine!
