Granny's Castle: Farmhouse Getaway...

Granny’s Castle, built in 1912, is a farmhouse located approximately five miles west of Lewisburg, KY. This charming retreat is nestled ½ mile off of Highway 106/Spa Road and offers guests a scenic getaway that is reminiscent of a simpler time.

This old farmhouse, endearingly called Granny’s Castle, holds a special place in our family’s history. In 2007, due to health concerns, Granny was no longer able to live alone in her beloved home place. One day, several years later, our two year old granddaughter, Emma, noticing the old house at the end of the road asked, “Is that Granny’s house?” We told her that, yes, although Granny didn’t live there anymore, the house was indeed hers… Emma sweetly replied, “That’s not Granny’s house, it’s Granny’s Castle.”

In 2014, Granny passed away at the age of 92. In honor of Granny’s memory, we decided to restore the farmhouse so that our family could continue to enjoy my childhood home for many years to come. We invite you to come and enjoy the serenity and solitude of this newly restored retreat.

We had an incredibly relaxing and wonderful time at Granny’s Castle. This was it second visit and we so enjoy the location and the beauty of the property. Rodney met us at the house when we arrived and was very gracious and kind. The beds are comfortable, kitchen was well supplied and the property is always well tended.

Great Stay at Granny's Castle

We enjoyed our stay at Granny's Castle. We stayed one night so we didn't get a. chance to explore the area but our dog enjoyed walking around the grounds.

JUST WHAT THE DR ORDERED!!!!

This place was exactly what we needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. The owner was very informative and friendly. The farming farm was PERFECT.. Absolutley the best and most relaxing family vacay ever!!! We loved to be able to fish just feet from the house and the pod has some nice ones in it..The history behind granny’s castle is wonderful.. tastefully decorated from better years.. thank you so much for sharing this piece of paradise with our family.. we will be back ❤️❤️❤️❤️

A Step Back in Time...

What a peaceful place to gather family. We had such a relaxing time. The farmhouse is at the end of the dead-end lane and was just delightful. We watched deer and saw a few turkeys and one night we heard the bird, the whipper-will, which brought back good memories of our Dad. Thank you Johnson Family for making us feel very welcome. We enjoyed the sourdough bread and jam you brought us for breakfast.

Close to paradise

I fell in love with Granny's Castle... it is truly a place where peace, charm, positive energy is on every step you take. I recommend this lovely farm house to anyone... it's charm and comfortability is great. It is obvious owners take a lot of care and the love can be perceived in the details through out the property (inside and outdoor). Very clean, organized, with a strong sense of family. I can not express how much I enjoyed it and Mr Johnson is an absolute pleasure to deal with him. Hoping to go back and keep returning! :)
