Sweet Apple Cottage

This quiet cottage with a view of the Grand Mesa is located 1/4 mile from world famous road and mountain biking and hiking trails and three miles from the east entrance of the Colorado National Monument. We are 2 miles from downtown Main Street with famous Art on the Corner, art galleries, shopping, restaurants, the historic Avalon theater and seasonal farmers market. Our cottage is located 10 miles from Fruita Co, 11 miles from the Palisade orchards and wineries, 90 miles from Moab and 2 hours, to Telluride, Aspen and Vail. The Powderhorn ski resort is 45 minutes away on the Grand Mesa, largest flat top mountain in the world. There is nordic skiing, golf, fishing, and hunting in the area.

Fantastic stay in perfect location next to lunch loops. Nicely located at end of a road with nice privacy in the back yard. Jackie is one of the best hosts on VRBO! She made everything super easy and was very responsive which I appreciate. Easy access, very accommodating setup for my two dogs and she even made me an amazing chocolate banana bread!

Great yard for dogs, needs better AC in house since Grand Junction gets into 100 in summer, outside could use some TLC,, a bit cluttered inside, but you share with the owner who lives there when not rented out.

Great location for the the experiences Grand Junction has to offer! Beds were comfy, generous with toiletries & kitchen needs were well stocked..especially that banana chocolate bread! Only downside was trip hazards with steps and uneven patio to deck..although it did not stop us from morning coffee on deck..thank you Jackie for hosting us and sharing your home!

Very cute little spot. Nice and secluded.I will say it wasnt very clean. I spent the first night I was there cleaning cobwebs off the bedposts, grime off the handles and doorknobs, and chasing spiders out of the spaces we were sleeping. It was very cute and could be a really nice place and probably charge more, if someone came and cleared out the clutter and did a deep clean. I also thought it was strange that their were someone's ashes in an urn on the shelf. But overall, not a terrible place to stay.

Decor was a little over the top, interesting though. Too many steps, especially for for my wife. The kitchen was well appointed. The television were difficult to use. I finally learned to use it, more used to Direct tv. Beds were comfortable. The deck needs work, a bit shabby. Loved the close proximity to hiking trails.A major concern was difficulty for handicapped accessibility.

The cottage was so comfy and welcoming. We were there during a 100 degree day and it was very comfortable with the swamp cooler and fans. 10 minutes from the Palisade peach festival and 10 minutes from the Colorado National Monument, which is a very pretty drive with lots of sites to stop and see the wonder of nature.Jackie had a lot of information on other things to do around Grand Junction. She made sure that we were comfortable and had what we needed. Her double chocolate banana bread was a great surprise and we enjoyed it with our morning coffee. She was also very welcoming to our African grey parrot, which was a great relieve for us since we couldn't find anyone to take care of her during a time there. Thank you, Jackie for making your home so comfy and inviting. We will definitely be back. Would recommend Sweet Apple Cottage to anyone wanting a great place to stay in Grand Junction.

Wonderful thoughtful host, delicious chocolate banana bread to welcome us to her lovely home away from home. Large fenced yard and great trail just walking distance from house ideal for stays with your pup.

Excellent location, close to town but in a quiet area down the road from the Colorado monument. Cute well stocked cottage with lots of fun things to enjoy. Jackie was great to communicate with.

Sweet Apple Cottage was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. Communication with Jackie is super easy. The house is cozy and inviting with all the amenities you could need. You're close to plenty of food, trails, and a short drive up to Grand Mesa. Would definitely book again!

Wonderful home and yard

Quiet getaway close to everything

We had such a great time staying at the Apple Cottage! It was the perfect place for me to work during the week and explore in the evenings and weekends. Located on the edge of town, it was close to everything in town. We will make sure to visit again!

Summer comfortable stay

We too a long “work” weekend to enjoy the western slope. The house was very warm and accommodating. Great spaces to gather and play board games. The hist even had make us an AMAZING chocolate banana bread to enjoy!

It is a lovely cottage, clean, anything you might need readily available, wonderful mattresses for a great night’s sleep, and the welcoming homemade baked goods was a surprise treat. Jackie is a lovely person; very friendly and easy to communicate with. She even inquired about our arrival time and made sure extra outdoor lights were on to welcome us we had a wonderful relaxing stay in her home.

This cottage was built in 1941 and remodeled in 2000 . Every day is a wonder to live in this beautiful valley surrounded by The National Monument, The Bookcliffs and the wild horses and The Grand Mesa.

Our area is quiet and very close to beautiful endless scenry and culture of the western Colorado and southern Utah. We are 30 miles from the Utah boarder. We are 3 minutes from Trailhead coffee shop for breakfast and lunch and 5 minutes from Starbucks in the Albertson shopping center.
