Spacious updated one bedroom Art Deco home, conveniently located outside of downtown San Francisco. A 5 minute walk to Alameda's historic Park Street, featuring local shops, restaurants, bars and a movie theater. This Art Deco period home was recently updated, keeping the charm and character original to the property. Enjoy relaxing in this light filled home, with east, south, and west-facing windows. Spacious, eat-in, kitchen with stainless steel appliances, beautiful stone countertops, and detailed Art Deco period details and backsplash. The bathroom features include large sit-in shower with twin rain shower heads and period tile work. Large master bedroom with king bed, high-boy dresser, and walk-in closet. Central AC for cooling during the warm summer months. Brand new private Whirlpool front loader washer and dryer onsite. Enjoy dining outdoors in private patio space with bistro set and colorful bougainvillea. Direct TV Sunday Ticket access with WiFi and print/copy/scan onsite.

Immediate access to BART or take a short ferry ride to San Francisco. Within a few miles to Oakland's Oracle Arena and Coliseum, downtown Oakland, and Berkeley. Northern California's wine country, including Napa and Sonoma, is 45 minutes to an hour north of Alameda. Enjoy the outdoors in the Sierra Nevada mountain range just three hours inland of the East Bay, featuring famous Lake Tahoe ski resorts with hiking and golfing during the summer months. Access to Bay Area hiking, Golden Gate Bridge, Muir Woods, and Marin County. To the south of Alameda is Silicon Valley and Santa Cruz.

The property is lovely, in a very easy walk to restaurants. Very clean and up to date. Street parking was a worry before we got there, but it was no problem at all.

Easy to find, parking ample on side street, convenient location for access to town. Stay was comfortable with very little noise from Broadway, surprisingly. Kitchen, bath, and bedroom were very clean and well-appointed. Couldn’t get the coffee maker to work, but don’t care for Keurig coffee anyway due to the plastic.

People have personal preferences to their coffee and coffee makers. We would have been happy to help with the operation had we known there was difficulty. Coffee maker working without issue. Glad that you enjoyed your visit and the property.

We loved this little quaint cottage so much! It’s close to everything, you can easily walk to so much. The property is very well appointed with literally all you need, it’s very clean and comfortable. Alameda is adorable too. Don’t miss that directly across the street there is a Spite house! We had no idea! If you don’t know what that is, look it up, very cool. Ole’s Waffles was great, and there is a pin ball museum here too! We were here for a week and cannot recommend this as a place to stay more highly.

Delightful spot for two

Super clean, well-laid out space that’s only a short walk to Park for food and shops. The kitchen and bath stand out as especially nice and functional.

We will be back.

This was our second stay at Margaret's charming place and it was just how we remembered it, Perfect! Great location, easy parking and fun location. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and charming getaway. We have family in Alameda and hope to stay there again.

Great stay

We had a wonderful time in Alameda visiting our daughter and sightseeing in the Bay area. We had everything we needed and more. It was very comfortable and convenient to walk to restaurants in Alameda. The owners were very accommodating. Highly recommend!

Home away from home

This was our 4th stay at this home. It consistently fills our needs. It is close by to where we want to be and we are comfortable here. The beautiful gardens are an added bonus.

Alameda rules

We have been to the Bay Area many times, but this is the first time we stayed in Alameda. The accommodations were perfect, as was the neighborhood. We had a very good stay at Margaret and Paul‘s. We recommended this property wholeheartedly.

Charming and fantastic Rental!

I can’t say enough great things about the property and the owners. It is so well kept, clean, and centrally located. It has everything you can think of for a comfortable stay. It’s easy to see why the calendar shows this property is often booked in advance. Will definitely book again when we visit Alameda again.

Meticulously clean, perfectly located, cozy cottage

From the moment I checked in to the moment I left, I felt like I was in my home away from home. The home was meticulously clean, cozy, perfectly located, and had all of the necessities including toiletries and kitchen needs you could possibly need for a week-long stay. The only challenge was street parking.

One of the best!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 days and absolutely loved this house, location, and beauty! The bed is so comfortable we almost didn't get out of bed until late in the afternoon! The beautiful garden and friendly honey bees make this location an Oasis! Will be back soon!
