Welcome to Boxwood House a completely furnished vacation/corporate garden apartment located on the first floor of a gracious 1893 Victorian home with its own separate entrance.

Boxwood House offers such amenities as a full kitchen, with all electric appliances, including a dishwasher, full size refrigerator, china, silverware, and glassware.
The Bedroom has a queen size bed dressed in Italian linens for a comfortable nights sleep. Plenty of closet space, a dresser, and a writing desk with wireless service for your laptop.
The bathroom shower features a Speakman shower head. There are plenty of thick white towels.
The Living/Dining Room is very comfortable with a sofa that makes into a double bed. The antique dining table and chairs seat four. AM/FM radio with CD player and cable LCD TV with VCR that gets up to 88 channels.
There is a back garden available during nice weather to sit and read or enjoy a glass of wine.

Conveniently located on the island of Alameda, in San Francisco Bay. Boxwood House is situated in the historic Gold Coast a few blocks from parks, beaches with beautiful views of San Francisco, windsurfing, tennis, sailing, bike riding, coffee houses, and restaurants. Direct transportation to San Francisco is accessible both by bus and ferry located a few blocks away.

Enjoy all the scenic attractions the San Francisco Bay Area has to offer from Boxwood House your home away from home. Available by the week or month.

Boxwood house apartment

Lovely apartment in a beautiful neighborhood near the park. Close to all the shops and enjoyed my daily walks. The bed is so comfortable. Will be my first choice to stay when in the San Francisco area.

Just perfect

I stayed for 4 nights and this unit was perfect. Plenty of space for me to work and relax. Walking distance to a cute coffee shop. Beautiful neighborhood . Host was very accommodating and responsive . I would definitely stay again .

Great Alameda Apartment!

perfect for Alameda

We love this property. We have stayed many times.the owner is great. She is very friendly and most helpful.we like to stay here anytime we are in Alameda if the property is available. Close to everything, easy to find parking...just a perfect location with an ideal host.

A charming and comfortable place to stay

This is the second time we've stayed at this place and both times have found it delightful. It is in a quiet neighborhood, and is within walking distance of the beach and children's parks. We hope to come again.

Nice apartment, great location

The basement apartment was clean and beautifully decorated. The host was very friendly during check in. Everything I needed and more. If you go during colder weather, bring slippers or warm socks. I would definitely stay there again!

Cozy garden apartment.

Very nice decor with Japanese art touches and antiques. The bed was comfy and couch becomes a bed as well. Neighborhood is lovely with Victorian houses and a gang of turkeys! Friendly neighbors. The host lives upstairs and was very accomodating.

It was beautifully decorated. Everything you would need, was provided. Quiet neighborhood. Available parking in front of house. I lived in Alameda for six years. Parking could be a challenge. I would highly recommend this garden cottage. Thank you Marti.

Great location!

We were in Alameda to visit old friends in the east bay. The location was perfect, in a great neighborhood in the Gold Coast district with lots of Victorian homes. The apartment was very quiet and private. It was very well equipped with everything we needed. It has a beautiful garden where we would often sit outside and have coffee and eat breakfast. Definitely a great find.

Great Little Apartment in an Awesome Neighborhood.

This tastefully decorated apartment was perfect for my onsite week work trip. I love Alameda, but this area is particularly nice. Plenty of friendly people walking and riding bikes around, and it just happens to be within walking distance of my favorite TikiBar. Marti made sure I was well-ac o.odated and the check in/out process was nice and simple. I definitely hope to stay here again.

Beautiful place but absolutely pet occupied

Although a beautiful quaint property, my friend is allergic to animals and right away had problems breathing. Even myself as a pet owner could smell a "pet" odor. This was not disclosed in the rental agreement. If this had been we wouldnt have wasted our time or 600.00.

Our Summer Getaway

My husband and I were so glad to have chosen the Garden Apartment for our summer getaway. The apartment had all that we needed during our trip. Our next scheduled trip to No Cal will be in 2025, which we hope the apartment will be available to book. It's a great place to stay!

Wonderful accommodations!

Centrally located for my visit. Apartment has everything one could possibility need. Furnishings are an absolute delight. Thought I was in a Paris flat! Couldn't have been more pleased. Son slept on couch bed. Very comfortable.

Sweet location and lovely accommodation

My stay was smooth from beginning to end. Martha was the perfect host, available but not intrusive. The accommodations fit my needs perfectly and the bed was very comfortable. Would gladly recommend Martha’s spot to friends and family.
